  1. said in another thread, I'd try for Nemanja Matic, he would hold our midfield together which we aren't going atm
  2. In addition to everyone's wish list of striker and winger. I would opt for Nemanja Matic for some strength and experience in the midfield. 31yo but could do 2 or 3 years for us, also wants first team football he wont be getting at Utd. I also have real concern at LB where Targetts positioning and constant bombing forward is leaving gaping holes. Almost at the point of preferring Taylor....
  3. It may not seem like it but Guilbert is in the top ten for tackles and interceptions in PL so far
  4. wonderful post. I felt angry and frustrated losing yesterday but everything you say is what I felt when we got promotion. Perhaps I was encouraged too much by our early form which didn't bring the results I felt we deserved. I'm back on board but I still hope Dean either tears the buggers a good 'Un or changes to something more solid.
  5. Should be back to lead our season end winning streak
  6. Almost identical for me too, but I would put Chester in instead of Engels, more experience to hold the three together.
  7. Given drop off in form, system not working, lazy midfielders and ineffective wingers I think for Norwich we should have the following; Heaton Konza Chester Hause Elmo Luiz Targett Hourihane Grealish Kodjia Wesley After yesterday I don't think Nakamba works hard enough to track back. If he did his job properly I would of liked to go him holding with Luiz in for Hourihane. With this system we should give Norwich more to worry about and still remain a bit stronger in defence, Chester to play almost as a sweeper guiding the young lads. Thoughts?
  8. Just a new core then...will need divine intervention for that
  9. very good post. I also think 5-3-2 would help in that we should be a little stronger in defence, not so reliant on Nakamba etc trotting back after the opposition midfield have surged through our midfield and most relevant of all our wingers are useless.
  10. I agree the defence is and has been, since the season started, very poor but the midfield also have to shoulder responsibility as teams easily pass through us. Another worry for me is how often in one on one battles the opposition come away with the ball. Is JT a defending legend who cannot coach?
  11. Have to agree with this. 4-3-3 with our players hasn't worked in this league. Needs to bring variety because as so many have commented teams have now worked out how to beat us...and easily
  12. Couldn't agree more, Only glimmer for me is we looked better with 2 strikers and if we competed more, won the occasional battle and cut out the suicide passes we might have a chance but Dean has got to fire something extra from here on in
  13. I love the Villa, bleed claret and blue but surely the club wouldn't stop Jack moving to a top, top club. He could replace Silva at City or Hazard at Chelsea. F**k it Messi would love to play with him. He alone cant prevent this team going down.
  14. Yup, but if we can get some cash back from Trez, it will help new purchases.
  15. I predict Wesley and AEG to score today after going behind to a Danny Ings goal.
  16. I wonder if a 4-1-4-1 would stiffen up the central areas but still allow for creativity from Jack and McGinn. Possibly this: Heaton Guilbert Konsa Engels Targett Nakamba McGinn Luiz Grealish El Ghazi Wesley Interested to hear thoughts about McGinn in this role.
  17. Like some others have said, my ideal would be a statue and when the North Stand is replaced the new one bears his name.
  18. Are you having a laugh? £40m for McGinn is twice what he is worth.
  19. Awful tackle today, should of gone. He always looks to get forward which is great but against a top side know to break quickly he should know or indeed be told to get your defensive head on! Noticed as well in the last few games he positions much too centrally leaving opposition wide man in acres of space. Needs to position 2 or 3 steps to his left to allow quicker close down without leaving gap between himself and Mings for potential through ball.
  20. I probably wont be popular but I think Tyrone has been very poor ever since he got his England call up. Plays as if he has all the time in the world and appears to have a minimum of 5 or 6 cringe moments in every game. For me he either gets told "back to basics" or you get dropped. If he has got a hamstring then it gives Hause a chance to shine. I like tyrone and his "leadership" in the defense but he has to do better in the Prem
  21. A great man and the greatest manager Villa have ever had. Principled, honest and the best motivator. English champions 1981, thanks Ron RIP
  22. Agree with this, Konza looked light a rabbit caught in headlights, targett didn't get near Willian all night and Mings was as bad at times as he was good at others
