Everyone has their own opinion but mine is that our wingers are frankly useless so tactics could be implemented to make sure Luiz and one other of the 3 mids holds back when full backs bomb forward. With Jack in behind 2 mobile strikers we could be a threat.

I accept most of our players are championship level, I accept we will lose more than we win but I cannot accept we are always 2nd to the ball, don't win tackles, win very few headers and cannot string more than 2 passes together and that's only when Jack is involved. We always look slower than the opposition. Purslow needs to ask serious questions of Manager, tactical coaches, fitness coaches and recruitment team because Villa are currently an embarrassment. The inevitable sale of Jack, McGinn and Mings will provide adequate funds to put together a championship winning team but all areas have to be improved upon. I've been behind Smith up till now but the pattern of play, energy and effort is no better now than the first game against Spuds, indeed probably not as good.

Reina Konsa - Engels - Mings Guilbert - Drinkwater - Nakamba - Targett Samatta - Davis Grealish Subs: Nyland, Hause, Elmo, Luiz, El Ghazi, Trez, Baston As Davis and Samatta look well capable of playing centre and running the channels they could interchange a lot and Jack can do his thing

I like him. He has energy and seems a good tackler but I winch when I see how easily the opposition play around him and he is soooo slow in tracking his man. a la goal yesterday. If he can improve that awareness of threat and respond he will be good for us.

agree with this, AEG and trez are useful as impact subs around 70 mins but having 2 strikers up top with Jack pulling the strings would really occupy defences. If wing backs support press better it will slow down opposition getting through our midfield as quick as they do now.

Agree with this, he is effectively a free hit, offers an alternative to both Kiennan and Samatta.
