  1. Sage words. I hadn't thought about the long standing, underlying malaise this club has endured for more than a decade. I did call for him to go but I think you may have a point. Question is, how long do we give him?
  2. I like a lot of the things Purslow talks about but I hope and believe our owners wont let a bad situation fester too long. They want and I guess are demanding top level achievements. The 5 year plan for Euro football is getting ever closer. For me. SG has not shown any idea how to manage at this level. Get shot now!
  3. Not sure if anyone has picked this up, but odds on SG being 1st PL Manager to lose his job were 14/1 yesterday( had a sneaky £10 on it, rude not to) today around 9/2 so I wasn't the only one
  4. Considering his recent comments, could he have already lost the dressing room? I normally advocate given new Managers time but in this case I think sack now and replace when the right fit becomes available. Gary Mac and Critchley should be able to continue without things getting even worse......hopefully!
  5. We are in for a proper relegation battle this year if SG retains this 433 with McGinn and PC. Unless we use a system suitable to our squad I fear the worst. We might get lucky and NSWE sack him pronto and a proper coach comes in and fires up the players who all look very lethargic. For now I would go with a home team of Martinez Cash Chambers Carlos Digne Kamara Luiz Bailey Buendia Courtinho Ings away team Martinez Cash Carlos Mings Digne McGinn Kamara Luiz Bailey Watkins Buendia
  6. Cultured, can pass, move and turn out of danger. Definitely not a Villa player then
  7. We look just as bad as last season, SG facing a tough few weeks as I hope NSWE wont put up with that shit for any longer than necessary
  8. Carlos will help the defence, Kamara looks like he will need time to settle. SG doesn't seem to have sorted out a workable system from midfield to forwards. At the moment I can only see 11th as a ceiling. first three games all crucial as next four all very tough. bournmouth win everton win palace lose whu draw arsenal lose city lose lei lose southampton win leeds win forest draw chelsea lose 14 pts after 11 games puts us around 13th so not good enough. If this pans out SG comes under a lot of pressure from above in my view. I hope I'm wrong but I feel this season is going to be just as frustrating as last.
  9. Agreed but surely with 5 subs he will this year
  10. Accepting that none of us really know what is going on, and really wanting this kid to stay and grow with the Villa, I agree to your post. Sign and play a part or don't sign and be sold. I fear his head has been turned by the Bellingham affect with Dortmund.
  11. Perfect analysis which the vast majority on here can agree with. Lets hope SG is man enough to fix it
  12. Worrying though isn't it. When I started the list I assumed there would be enough obvious wins or draws but given what we are currently like I don't think we have enough in the bag. We need improvements and probably a fluky win might help start the recovery.
  13. Love your optimism! did you see the game yesterday?
  14. Given how abject our performances are currently and SG trying to get us playing his Xmas tree set up, which I believe puts the wrong players in the wrong places and leaves us way too open, here are the points we are likely to get without any change to system or improvements from players and Manager( wtf were those subs yesterday) for games still to play: BHA away 0 pts S'ton home 0 pts Leeds away 0pts WHU away 0pts Arsenal home 1pt Wolves away 0pts Spurs home 1pt L'pool home 0pts Leicester away 1 pt Norwich home 3pts. total 6 meas we will probably get relegated.
  15. You're spot on. As many will agree, the lack of a DM to slow down opponent attacks means CB's are working too hard and too often resulting in mistakes. A solid DM would help them set better and earlier. Roll on Summer window.
  16. Absolutely right DDID the mRNA enters cels and tells them to create antigens.
  17. You mean...carp be-we're floundering for new fish puns
  18. starting no, but he may get himself fired up to challenge Bailey rather than being kept out by Jack and only getting a look in when Jack was out injured.
  19. Said the same yesterday. Who knows he might fancy his chances now Jack has gone.
  20. There should be no way Anwar leaves for less than £40m. He scored 12 goals last season, only just behind Ollie and currently we now no longer have a right footed left side winger. Even if Bailey plays there sometimes it would be brilliant to have the option of Anwar
