    Last season we very rarely dropped points when took the lead. Problem was we rarely got points if went behind. Anyone missing Bruce yet?

    Really. I’d thought a player that covers a lot of ground in front of the back 2 would be crucial in this system.

    Good post. We will always be prone to be hit on the counter with the way we play. Even Peps great teams have always had the same problem. It’s the price you pay when play in such an attacking high press style. The alternative is get bodies behind the ball like Bruce’s team and nick the odd goal. We are conceding too many and I think a pacey defensive midfielder could help. We also need to stop being so wasteful in dangerous positions. We could and should have scored a lot more than 2 goals today.

    We need a defensive midfielder with legs. Conceding to many goals on the counter. Hourihane lost his man for the first and second goal.

    Yes but I also saw the 5 or so games before that. We haven’t played well but I think we should have won today. Leeds we should have got a draw. The other results were fair. Leeds at one stage this season went 8 games with only 2 wins. They’ve just lost 2 in a row. Bad form happens. A few back to back wins and it all looks different. Jack will eventually return and we’re expecting new signings. Trust me we’ll make playoffs.

    I can understand people getting a bit concerned about making playoffs but Smiths record since taking over would still get us around 75 points which would be close. We also need to consider out of his 14 games in charge only 5 of those games were against teams currently below us in the table. 11 out of 15 available points were picked up in those games. Win the next 3-4 and get Jack back and a few signings and it starts to look promising again. All teams seem to be dropping unexpected points it’s just hurting us more due to us playing catch-up. Dont give up hope guys.

    The more I think about Bruce’s actions in the summer transfer window the more I’m convinced it was a swipe at the critics. He was continually criticised for being too defensive so what does he do. Bring in a load of attacking players but let go of a defender and a keeper whilst leaving us ridiculous light at the back. He wanted the last laught and a payout. Very petty indeed.

    Another one of Agent Bruce’s moves to get sacked has been corrected. After the Hull game he must have got worried by Steer looking quite adequate. Could have foiled his master plan so soon got him out on loan.

    Drop Hourihane in to dmf and let mcginn and BB play like e2e midfielders. Ok they haven’t got the creativity of Grealish but they have a lot of energy between them.

    Basing it on international caps is completely flawed though. Serbia are a top team. Just getting in to that squad is an achievement and means you’re a decent player. Yet Peru who lets be honest are pretty weak are higher than them in FIFA rankings. We could sign a Peruvian with a few caps no problem. It’s ridiculous.
