    One of the many problems with English players. Life's too comfortable, talented players get paid way too much way too soon because every club is desperate to stockpile talent, there's nothing the spur them on to succeed because the illusion is they already have. If they had to leave the country to succeed like a lot of the foreign players that come here, attitudes would change a lot.

    Haha, I don't think so, he was in good shape at spurs by the end. I actually think him improving his athleticism was what took him from being a fullback having difficulty putting his mark on a game to what he is now. We could do with a few athletes at our club.

    Frustrating, as in my opinion we needed this signing more than we needed Cole or Senderos or Richardson (if he's been signed as a winger, not a full back as it appears in pre-season)

    From what I've seen preseason, our defence has be Guzan, Bacuna, Okore, Vlaar, Stevens/Richardson.

    Not excusing the forwards, but it's so difficult when when you have behind you is awful. It's not a massive shock that the can't get into the match.

    Football is about having the technical and physical attributes, but someone as talented with the ball as Jack doesn't necessarily need to 'bulk up' in a way that a mostly physical player like Gabby had to, they just need to learn to use their size and strength effectively, which it looks like he is learning now playing games at the senior level. He's of a similar build to Modric, who did just fine in the Premier League. Letting him leave would be a travesty.

    Bennett is a bad defender, totally unreliable, goes wandering in attack towards the edge of the area then doesn't get back to position. I get the impression he thinks he's better than he is.

    terrible jerky stream. It's not even hard to do it, some of the guys that do the pirate ones to millions of people on a saturday get better quality than this.

    Why would you add the pound you took to the debt? you don't owe it as you already have it available to give to your parents so you take it away. Give your mom the pound that you inexplicably kept for yourself and you have paid off £3 of the £100 debt, with £48 owed to mother and £49 owed to father, which comes to the £97 you gave to the shop. Take a course in maths, get a job and pay back your debt.

    Along a full strength side I can see him being more effective. As an accessory to Benteke with a proper midfield and defence behind him is an exciting prospect.

    Well so far they've said Gardner scored two goals in the Mansfield game and that Chris Herd is 28, so I don't know about them doing their research They sound happy to talk about us though so we can't complain too much. True, but compare that to Chris Waddle talking about Brad de Guzman being a poor pelanty saver.

    The commentator knows more about Villa than all Sky, BBC and ITV representatives put together. Done their job and researched the teams they're watching, makes a change.

    Although it's not the club's absolute low point, even if it was then that's not how low points work. It can always get worse. Thought I'd lighten the mood. you mean there's leagues outside the Premier LeagueTM?!

    according to some this is the lowest point of the history of the football club, so don't worry as things can only get better.

    I think Andi is a good player, hopefully the competition will give him the impetus to recapture his early form. He was at his best when playing as a forward with Benteke, would be good to give him a run in this position again, knowing that Nzog, Cole, Grealish, Robinson, Bent etc will all be after a place.
