  1. Caption for Maguire on Sky: "Ever-present in PL for Manchester United" That's the best "stat" they could come up with for him
  2. 2 weeks in a row Crystal Palace let in a late goal to ruin my FPL clean sheet...
  3. FTFY. 15 Premier League goals the season before. Palace had one shot (a penalty) at home to Brighton last week. Would be interesting to see how the big man does under a less defensive manager.
  4. Let's cut him a little slack and look at it objectively. Premier League debut against a well-drilled Sheffield United side who put 9 behind the ball after the sending off. We scored 3 against Fulham, so no qualms he didn't get one there. Hat-trick vs Liverpool. No disgrace in not scoring in tight match vs Leicester. Isolated and on his own for much of the match against Leeds when our entire team was off. I'm reserving my judgement on him for the run of games after the next international break. If he doesn't grab at least a few in those matches then there is cause for concern.
  5. Besides seeing how we bounce back from the Leeds result, I've been really looking forward to this one. Have watched most of Southampton's matches this season and have to say that Ings is starting to become one of my favourite non-Villa players. Just looks so smooth out there on the pitch and a danger every time he touches the ball. No disrespect to Ollie, but would love to have a player like him starting up front for us. They have a couple of other threats, including the Bluenose Adams, who has missed a few chances this season, but Ings is the main one. If we can contain him then I think we can bounce back strongly.
  6. It's one of the few gripes I have with Deano also. He seems pretty intent on playing a certain way and rarely changes that... Even though I thought we would win, I think the formation we play does not suit playing Leeds and probably should have played with 5 at the back, but to be fair we probably didn't have the personnel for that with Hause out, Engles probably not fit for 90 mins, and Elmo not a natural CB.

    Matty Cash

Could simply be because they don't mind if they get caught out of position on Cash's side, as it would be Trez left free to attack. On the other hand, if they target and push forward on the opposite side, they run the risk of letting Grealish get free in acres of space.

    Tyrone Mings

I don't blame them. Get within one inch of that word removed and he'll stamp on your foot and start rolling like his ankle snapped off.
  9. Sorry, I disagree. I've watched their last two matches start to end and he was well off the pace. Of course he turns up today.
  10. Bamford has been absolutely dogshite the past few weeks and turns up with two cracking finishes. Couldn't make it up.
  11. I get the concern some here may have, but if the opponent's team name wasn't Leeds and their manager wasn't Bielsa, would we really be worried about this match? Their back line, especially with the injuries they have, looks pretty atrocious on paper. Last week Jack absolutely toyed with Castagne, a Belgium international with Champions League experience. I can hardly imagine what he will do to whatever Championship level player they'll stick on the right of their defence. And, outside their first two matches of the season, they have hardly looked much of a goal threat. I could easily see us winning this comfortably, but as nature has it I'm sure I'll be eating my words at the end of the night.
  12. Reminded me of this classic...
  13. Last time we won 5 PL games in a row was 1998. Will be nice to match that feat by beating Squatting Shite Haircut United. Better question is when, if ever, was the last time we started a campaign with 5 straight victories.
  14. If our season continues as positively as it has started and he tears it up at the Euros such that he is valued at 200 million pounds, what on earth makes you think he would want to be sold?
  15. What is the point of VAR if they don't even bother checking this, especially the day after Pickford destroyed VVD? This moment could have absolutely crippled our season, no pun intended.

    Douglas Luiz

Re-signing Douglas Luiz to a long-term deal with the buy-back clause removed is arguably the best bit of business we can do over the next couple of transfer windows. Times are definitely turning for us if our best deals during the transfer windows are keeping our stars long-term.
  18. That's not what I expected for a bizarre video about Hickey...
  19. I need to post this more often it seems
  20. Feel for me with Fernandes in my fantasy team...
  21. Almost sounds like England in the UEFA Nations League
  22. It doesn't matter where the line is. The problem is simple: if you have to bring out the lines to get a 1mm decision based on a single video frame that may not be at the exact time the ball left the attacking player's body part for the pass, then go with the on-field decision. Overruling a 1mm decision that absolutely cannot be spotted in real-time is asinine.
  23. Two "clear and obvious errors" here... absolute joke
