  1. Yes, absolutely I think that. You don't think they would regard getting to first place only to lose all of the last twelve games of the season as a failure? Your belief that people don't revise their expectations in the face of evidence is nonsensical. At the start of the season, I 'expected' Villa to finish circa 14th, to show some improvement on last season. Now I think finishing last but on at least 25 points would be a triumph of sorts. Why is the yardstick set in mid-August last year the only one that matters?
  2. Couldn't handle the heights of 20th in the Premier League.
  3. It was Question Time, of course it was, it always is. Though I agree with the rest of your post.
  4. That sounds like the most plausible explanation.
  5. Leicester need to lose quite a few matches to meet their pre-season target of 17th.
  6. Why do people come up with these fake tweets? What's the point of it?
  7. Yes they should. If I became manager, it would be probably the first thing I did. I'd actually write it into contracts.
  8. This guy is just **** with me . . . I spend months telling the world what a useless lump he is, and he regularly proves me right, but then gradually he starts to turn it around and, being the fair-minded chap my arrogance assumes me to be, I start thinking 'you know what, maybe he's not so useless after all', and then within a week there's that performance. On the other hand, this: . . . is just **** disgusting, and wouldn't be right under any circumstances. He is, as @Rugeley Villa points out, someone's kid.
  9. He deserved every boo he got. He needs to be benched for a significant period of time. Every performance is worse than the last recently.
  10. It doesn't make sense to hope that one of our few decent players leaves.
  11. Some fairly predictable overreactions. He's still comfortably the best centre-back at the club, and it would still cost the best part of £10m to replace him like-for-like.
  12. So we're to assume you're an Amavi fan, not an Aston Villa fan, would that be correct?
  13. We should just play 4-6-0. Without Sinclair.
  14. Who the **** would want to buy him? The fact that our defence is toilet and has been all season isn't exactly some unknown secret. The man's failed everywhere he's been in the last, what, 4 seasons?
  15. Yes, it really is. Erik Edman against Spurs, Ali Dia's effort, and Bacuna against Liverpool. Shameful shit.
  16. That's a slight on everybody else, rather than praise for Given.
  17. Yeah, but he's quite good isn't he? I mean, he has a lot of PL experience. And do you remember when he got an assist in that game we won at Stoke last season? He could do that again. And he saved Gerrard's shot and so on and so forth.
  18. He was. We may as well just agree to disagree. EDIT: Damn page break. 'He was [shit]'. @bobzy
  19. I don't agree, I thought we looked nervous from the off. Yes, they're mentally weak, but they really shouldn't have been. To be honest, I don't want him to go, because I doubt he'll resign and paying yet another manager off in a sacking is just yet more money wasted. People who are mentioning David Moyes are in dreamland, no way would he come here. We'd be lucky to get Nigel Pearson, Ian Holloway is probably more realistic. But I'm not just going to let Garde off for today's performance. My faith and trust in him has been knocked back to where it was at the start of January.
  20. Nobody - but nobody - comes out of a 0-6 home defeat with any credit. Gana might have been slightly less shit than others, but he was still deeply, deeply shit.
  21. He isn't the reason for the state this club is in, but equally he can't escape without scrutiny for our worst home defeat since 1935. Why were the players so visibly demotivated from the first minute? Our last three home games in all competitions have seen a combined score of 2-10. And we're worse away from home. If he's going to stay, today was a useful reminder of how very very very far we have to go yet.
