  1. Suliman is 19 and needs game time so he needs a loan. Being sat on our bench all year won't help him. Samba on the other hand will be competition for Terry and Chester. You say we are resource constrained so signing a free agent is ideal surely.
  2. Samba looked fit and dominant in midweek. I know it was Telford but it's a start and he can be any worse.
  3. No left centre half alongside Samba He's predominately right footed. I've not seen him much as CB but he's way too small at the minute or he seemed it next to Samba!!!
  4. GK is Sam Johnstone. CB after Elphick and Richards go could be Samba The DM if he stays could be Veretout or even Lyden. As for the wingers we've Adomah Green and Grealish and Birkir able to play wide too even if we get rid of Bacuna. We've also a healthy bunch of kids underneath this lot. The sqaud is virtually in place. Unless SB wants to just keep adding players.
  5. Just going off the 1st game (I went to Telford) and injury concerns I'd go with. Johnstone Bree Chester Terry Amavi Adomah Hourihane Veretout Green Hogan McCormack Subs Bunn Taylor Samba Davis Lansbury Birkir Grealish I cant see Bruce not starting Taylor though and by then Jedinak, Kodija and any new signings may affect it. From the first bit I've seen if we can keep Veretout it'd be a great addition. Green looks ready for a big season. Davis looks a beast in the making who if he won't play or get minutes regular needs a loan. Amavi looked sharp and if possible should be kept a season with JT talking to him could be beneficial for all. Samba looks fit and if he can keep this standard against better opposition should be given a contract. We've a good sqaud in place and I hope Bruce doesn't add much more unless he thins it out a lot. We also need to be able to play with 2 up top and have other formation options if needed.
  6. He looked at home. Played left side so totally out of his comfort zone. He'll be a cracking RB if he doesn't grow.
  7. If he has a good season he will be our player. You are worrying about next season when it's this year that matters. If we don't go up we will have to reevaluate everything anyway. You've admitted he is better than what's we have and I trust the management team if they think he's the best we can get. I can understand you wanting a different keeper who you think is better but don't understand you Miami g about the type of deal. If he ends up wanted by Man Utd or anyone else it'll mean he's been brilliant for us. Personally I think if we go up he signs permanently if we don't as I mentioned things will change anyway.
  8. We had one of the best teams on paper last year. It'll be stronger this year. The relegated teams will have hangovers like us. Newcastle were the exception as they bought heavily in Jan before relegation and kept the squad together. All the relegated teams have hit trouble this year. Boro being the main threat but I can't see them scoring enough. Our team in terms of quality and preparedness is up there with the best if not the best as is the squad. It's now up to SB To get us playing.
  9. Any idea if or when the squads will be announced?
  10. What's the point in John Terry then? We are signing players to improve the team this season. SJ will be here a long time if we go up. That's the most important thing. Whether that be signing Terry for a year or SJ.
  11. What mistakes? Early on he let a few weak ones in but after they was solid. A clean sheet is a flea but sheet and praise goes to all the players but the major factor is the defence and keeper. Name keepers we can get for better value? It's a loan deal.
  12. Goals Goals Goals We need to score 80+ goals. We need 10-15 away wins. We need to turn Villa Park in to a fortress. We need goals.
  13. Didnt SJ have the most clean sheets in the Championship this year? He is more than good enough for us now and looks to have the potential to get even better so should be good enough for us in the PL. The biggest sign is for the last 1/4 of the season I've not been worried at all about the keeper position and that's something I've not said for a while.
  14. Give me the O'Neill days any day!! Biggest difference is the outlay. Terry will cost about £4m for the season. I'd imagine the otherwise will cost about £4m all in. With wages about £6m for the season. This isn't buying Habib Beye for £4m on a massive long term deal. Buying Johnstone is a long term purchase. We seem to buy across all the range. Buying solely old players will catch you out but we aren't. Promotion skew all of this immaterial anyway. I trust those in charge as they're always mentioning FFP and players wasting away on big deals.
  15. By most accounts Whelan isn't a DM like a Jedinak so hopefully he can play one or other depending on the game. Whelan in a 2 Jedi in a 3. I don't want to see both in this league. It's no where near as good as its made out but you have to attack all the time. We should try out scoring teams for a change.
  16. He just made us stop leaking late goals. Something that would've happened anyway. Bruce has got a big couple of months coming up.
  17. I'd imagine it'd be a loan to buy deal If we go up. Hart has to find a club. With my Claret. And Blue glasses on he'd benefit from playing week in week out in a team that's trying to win something. That won't happen in the PL. If he went to a Newcastle for instance he'd be a lot busier and would concede more so wouldn't look as good as playing for us. Playing in the Championship for us he'd be on TV more than most PL teams. The Terry signing guarantees we will be in the spotlight all season. I can't see it happening but if it did I think it'd be a class signing.
  18. I'd get rid of Hutton and Richards fro the defence. I'd like to keep Veretout but think he'll go along with Gil and Sanchez. I'd chop Bacuna. I'd loan out Davis but I'd want RHM involved. I'd carry the big squad until Xmas then judge again.
  19. This all started at half time v Ipswich I think. The away fans cheered his every touch taking the piss. It then escalated quickly. RDL got injured but the cheers continued. Some then believed he was popular and good. Bruce accidentally played him in too many games and he got a contract renewal. Now he thinks we love him and he won't leave. I'm sorry for my part at Ipswich.
  20. Fabian Delph says hello Fabian Delph says goodbye
  21. Maybe but we'd have competition for Adomah on the right in Elohamady and we'll have McCormack and Hogan hopefully fully fit and firing. We don't need any strikers adding we need our creative ve players to do their job. Grealish Green Hourihane Lansbury Adomah Elohamaday is a very talented bunch but they need to prove it. I don't want us signing players to just make up the numbers.
  22. No chance of him going to Everton they've just bought Pickford
  23. Hopefully the Terry factor will help us keep and get those we want. He'd improve us but it may be too late now
