  1. Hopefully he'll enjoy the new regime and fancy trying again. His kids older so he may settle better. It will also be nice to play for a manager that wants him in a winning team.
  2. But you can set his price at 0 effectively releasing him to join Sheff Wed. We've all played FM but thanks for the recap!
  3. I'd release him the wages being saved alone would be worth it.
  4. Since Hutton arrived we've been in decline. I know he's not totally to blame but some players are just the linked to failure. It'd be best for all if he left. He only got his contract renewed because De Laet got injured and he hit his automatic renewal number.
  5. To get promoted we have to score 80+ goals. We bought goal scorers last summer and in January so let's use them and use them properly. Ross, Hogan and Kodija should easily get 50+ between them. We need more than one way of playing and Ross could play alongside either Hogan or Kodija as he's a very clever player. He's head fell off st the wrong time. If it's in the right place he is a leader. I hope it is. We need him firing.
  6. That needs a bit of stripping but it's a good squad in place. I'd get rid of Hutton and Richards to start. Richards is obvious and even though Hutton was better last year he should be behind de laet and not blocking Bree. A lot will depend on people playing like they can McCormack especially.

    John Terry

Terry signing will be big news. You want as much publicity as possible so a monday announcement would be best. Hopefully it's a sign our media people are getting more savvy.
  8. I would love him to stay. Coming to a new country is hard enough never mind having a new baby a manager that didn't want you you a team struggling. He could flourish next season in a winnng team then be confident going into hopefully a PL season. He's the sort we need to keep instead we will have Bacuna doing the same role just worse.
  9. Haven't I? I've explained it clearly yet you just ignore it. I've never said lots of defeats. I said I could handle losing meaningless games trying to get us in a better position to win more this season. It's a virtually new squad that could've been let off the leash at the end of last seasonal tried to attack more without the worry of the result. Seeing as youre so happy with our results apart from the collapse you must be very confident this boring negative style will get us up? Will we see 75+ goals playing it? As that's what we'll need as a minimum to go up. If these highly effective players are so good why we collapse? Why is the football so bad?
  10. Keith Wyness and the Dr say we aren't idiots and are fully aware of FFP so put your keyboard away and let them handle it
  11. I'd say about £100k a week and more importantly it's not mine or your money. If signing him impacted signing others you may have a point. It won't so who cares?? If Terry plays 75% of the games and we go up it's worth 10 times the outlay. Are you against signing him because of the cost? His ability? Him personally? I'm not sure which at the minute.
  12. How many did Elphick and Richards play? IMO he's worth the gamble
  13. If you can't understand that we could have practiced a new style even if it cost us results whilst learning it I'll give up now. Our negative style of play will not get us promoted plain and simple. You need to score goals. We don't and won't by sitting back.
  14. Token local? You are having a laugh! I suppose you thought McGrath was a bit crap aswell? Terry has won the lot. Is a model prossfesional and has a massive desire to win. By all accounts he doesn't want to play against Chelsea but if you had a choice in trying to help a small team stay in the PL or having a season trying to win another title at Villa there's not much in it and I'd expect the challenge would be quite interesting. If we signed him I think he could have a massive impact not just on our 1st team but getting a winning mentality in the club. I for one would love him in a villa top.
  15. Did you watch any of our games? Our style of play has got worse and if you rely on winning games by the odd goal you will run out of luck. That's what happened in January. Our one outlet was missing and we had nothing else. If we played a better style with a clear idea we'd be better equipped to handle players missing but if your only way is sit deep and hope Kodija scores every week and win one nil you will come unstuck. if we can't take the games to teams we will struggle that's why id have preferred Bruce to lose a few more at the end of last in meaningless trying to get us playing better so it benefitted us this year. Ultimately I will take 30 1 nil boring games next season as long as we go up. If Bruce wants to stay here long term he will need to do more than that though. He will need a bit of swagger in our play and he needs to realise this is his best chance to be a top manager. He won't ever manage a bigger club if he's fails.
  16. Did Bruce beat any of the top 6? What's his win % against the teams who finished above us? In January we had a run of games to close the gap on the top 6 in this crucial period he failed abysmally. There hasn't been any Bruce Out chants but what there has been is criticism of his record and the style of football. We can all find stats to prove our point and in your 42% is some turgid football. If we weren't getting promoted I'd rather have had less wins but the football improving. We won't get promoted playing like we did last year.
  17. Bruce stopped us conceding straight away and got us winning. He actually got worse as the games went on especially after Xmas. Redknapp kept Blues up by beating Huddersfield reserves. He wasn't that good. They played well in their Cup Final it's no game to judge anything.
  18. Bacuna shows desire even if he hasn't got the skills to match. He's not improved for a few years. It was him who inspired us v Reading away after a drab 1st half. We've now got a lot of players that have been leaders previously at their clubs who need to be the ones who inspire the team as they're better quality players. I think from a fan base we need a signing to get us off our seats. We need that spark. I'd love us to go in for Young and have him as our big outlay this summer. If not someone in that mould. An exciting direct winger.
  19. As a diamond with Hogan and Jk upfront that'd work.
  20. Or he gets us promoted then Bakers development doesn't matter. Promotion is key
  21. Well the football we see at the start of the season will be what changes people should views on Bruce which I sure you understood. We all hope we don't see the turgid crap we was served up at the end of last season im sure. I don't know how much a settled squad impacts on the way you try to play football. Hopefully Bruce can work miracles in preseason but I'm not sure how 1/2 a dozen friendlies can change a philosophy. Fingers crossed though.
  22. Did better than Bruce with a worse squad? Played better football but ran out of steam right at the end? We have some of the best attacking players in this league yet we are one of the worst attacking sides. I wouldn't swap Bruce now but he's got a lot to do to change people's perceptions of him.
  23. That's what loan deals are for. Tomori played 9 times for Brighton las the year if you are looking for a player to cover that amount of games we should test our own. Suliman is an u19 international aswell whilst Toner has more PL games than Tomori. They may never be good enough but at the minute they've got potential and you never know until you try them. As I've stated we always write off our kids to our early. The Championship is full of our ex players we never gave a chance to who would do more than a job for us now. If Tomori would come straight into the team I'd be all for it but he'd a a reserve and for that we should use our own.
  24. Obviously because he plays for Chelsea? We have a habit of not giving our youth chances. We are in the Championship those 2 are easily good enough to give them a chance here and there. Why bring ina loan player to be back up? I don't mind loans if they improve the first team but wh you improve the back up when we've got kids who's may be able to do that given the chance. Tomori may be better at the minute but is he that much better to stop our win development.
