  1. He's been having a dig at the fans for a few weeks but he was getting stick for the results he'd been getting. He needs to look up hysteria. He was rightly getting criticised and we are still under achieving. I don't mind Bruce coming out fighting it shows he wants to do well but some of the revisionism is silly. It seems he's oblivious of his actual record here. As I said he needs to get the club all pulling in the one direction and that's for promotion. I think we all will take 25 more awful games if we go up. At the minute I don't think the majority of fans believe we are in with a chance of challenging the playoffs let alone going up. Bruce needs to big up our chances. We need 2 more wins this week then who knows there may be a promotion hysteria.
  2. My biggest point is he should stop mentioning the fans as a negative and start bigging up his team and our chances of going up. So far it's been everybody else's fault but his. No more excuses. Crowds are dropping because of the poor football and the negativity. If we have to watch boring football make the focus us going up. We need big home crowds driving us on. We need to build momentum. 2 more wins this week get in the playoffs and start making the fans believe again.
  3. Spot on and if we do win the next 2 I want Bruce to come out fighting not towards us but to the league. We want promotion. Let's not shy away from it. Let's reenergise the club.
  4. You are aware that those in the ground are the same on social media? I'd even say those that go the games see 1st hand the crap he's been serving up. If you went to Reading and watched the game and then listened to Bruce after you'd realise he's appealing to the masses and not the ones who go. Bruce should stop mentioning it. He is underacheiving. If he loses the next 2 he'll have roughly the record of the bloke he replaced so he should be under pressure. We were 10 pts off 6 th when he came and couldn't make it up. We need to be in and around promotion all year and if we aren't he will be under scrutiny. Instead of alienating fans he should be drumming up support. Our crowds are awful because the football is. Let's get in the playoffs and start talking positively about going up. Let's start playing positively to get the buzz back at Villa Park.

    John Terry

I think they're both quiet and that's why it's took a bit longer for them to gel. Chester has looked shaky but both now seem to have settled brilliantly.
  6. This division is crap. There's nothing to worry about. I agree we play awful football and a lot of others play better stuff but we will get better as the season goes either with or without Bruce. If we finish in the playoffs we will be as strong as any of the others but I think we have players for the bigger stage. Kodija, Adomah, Grealish, Snodgrass and Hourihane will probably be our attacking players by the end of the season. Name another 5 clubs with that talent? I think your negativity towards Bruce is clouding your judgement on the players we have. Under another manager we'd be flying but we are where we are and if it's turgid densive football all the way I'll take it as long as it's winning turgid defensive football. Bruce does get teams up somehow. I've no idea how watching it but he does. So let's hope this is how he did it before and it'll work again. Then sack him and get a manager that makes watching Villa enjoyable again!
  7. How was it irrelevant? It's the whole reason I'm confident. You can disagree all you like but I stated my reason if I'd left it as we'd go up. I'd understand you questioning it but I stated the reason and I also said getting there is the biggest issue for me as individuals can't turn it on every game. You seem to think we won't get in the playoffs yet haven't stated why apart from saying we are 9th. We are 2 pts off 6th. We will probably be in the top 6 by next Saturday night!
  8. Why didn't you quote the whole reply? If you would've you could've read the reason for your self. I believe as individual players we have as good a season bunch as any. Kodija for me is one of the best players in this league as are some of the others. Now this is the bit you decided to leave out. In one off games we have the quality to beat anyone but relying on individual brilliance every week doesn't work. That's why over 2 legs and then a final I'd fancy us against anyone.
  9. Hogg and Barry Bannan ran the show v Man Utd one year yet once Houlier left both plummeted. Having a manager that sets teams up correctly helps all young players unfortunately we've not had one for a while so bringing it back to Jack he'll struggle unless the team knows what it's doing.
  10. It's just faith that Kodija and others can do the business when needed. Ive no confidence in Bruce.
  11. Nope cause we have better players than most. Get in the playoffs and we will go up. It's getting there for me that's the issue. In one off games we have the quality to beat anyone but relying on individual brilliance every game doesn't work.
  12. I can't see us sacking Bruce whilst we are doing well but is It such a bad idea if our performances don't improve? When he came in last year we were awful but got the results but we never improved and then went on awful run of results all because we hadn't go at any better as a team. I can see the same happening if we don't improve on the pitch. Forest had all the ball but lacked the quality to hurt us thst much. Brentford was the same but we had an inspired Johnstone to help us. We can't keep allowing teams to dominate us in the hope of scoring and seeing it out. Southampton replaced Atkins with Pochettino when he was doing a decent job but they knew he was limited shot in better. We should be in the play offs at the end of the week with 2 more wins and would be an amazing draw if we chose to change Bruce. I'd say most fans think if we can't improve we won't go up so is it such a bad idea if we can get a better replacement?
  13. If Hutton, Gabby and Richards were out for a long time Bruce would say they were our best players last year just to prove what good job he's doing under atrocious circumstances!!
  14. You'd eed longer than 5 min!! There's that much on the pitch never mind off it to be questioned! My simple one would be do you think you have and are underacheiving? If he is still here after the next 3 games we need to back him completely but hopefully we can get a q&a with fans as there's lots of baffling stuff going on.
  15. This is his biggest problem. Changing history to suit his narrative. Fans aren't fools. To be fair it wasn't as bad as last weeks and no mention of mass hysteria! I wonder If someone's had a word? It'd be nice to have a journalist actually interview him though!!
  16. He's lost his confidence because our great manager who's supposedly a good man manager hasn't a clue how to play him. He looked sharp when he arrived. He's looked good in bits. He's scored at this level for a good passing side. So yes you are exaggerating as his goal v Wigan showed.
  17. That's the reason Bruce has give but Hogans reaction to being subbed says he wanted to stay on. Bruce said he was limping but no one else saw it!
  18. Bruce said he was injured to justify his substitution last night.
  19. Bruce mustn't like him at all. He'd have been ideal to play with Davis in a 442 yet I don't think they've even been on the pitch together let alone start. Bruce is back to the Kodija game plan now and it'll become more prevalent as he gets fitter. Keep it tight and hope he scores. Hogan will probably be gone in Jan.
  20. I think you should forget the cup games so it's 2 wins out of 5 or even better just go off the last league game then we have a 100% win ratio! Or you can look at this season as a whole or even his entire tenure but it doesn't really look that good then. Anybody can pick the sample that fits their point but ultimately our goal is promotion and at present Bruce is underacheiving. 3 massive games next week then we will see where we are at and I think the DR will be making a statement. Backed till Xmas or sacked.
  21. Losing last night isn't the be all and end all but it's systematic of where Bruce is at. I don't think he picked a side to win the game more to give people game time and that's my problem. Hutton will never be a left back option. As for Thor I've no idea where he's supposed to play but he's a shocking left mid so you've basically written off the left side. If you are going to use the kids do it all in as it seems the U23 do have a set style something the first team doesn't.
  22. I would love Bruce to be our manager at Xmas as it means we are back in with a chance of going up. The problem is I've seen nothing in the last 11 months for me to think he can do it. I don't care about what he's done else where. His record got him the job here but it should be his record here that dictates if he stays. Bruce talked a lot when he first arrived about averaging 2 points a game. He failed last season and so far he is failing this year. I've loads of questions about Bruces management of this squad. Why didn't he try Davis and Hogan as a 2? What had Adomah done wrong to be dropped in the 1st place? 4 RB's in 7 games? It seems now he's stumbled onto an 11 that May actuality work. Will he leave it alone? We have to win our next 3 and until we are in the top 6 and looking at automatic Bruce will still be failing. I hope he can do it.
  23. Bruce got a bit of luck today. Adomah 1st was a keeper error and they had half a dozen dangerous balls across the box when they were bossing position then we hit them on the break and got the 2nd. This is the football I expected from Bruce. Not good to watch but effective. What we've had is negative dross with nothing to show. I'm sure we call put up with the crap football if we get the results but Bruce dies himself no favours. He's constantly sniping at fans now. He's underachieving at the minute how about showing some humility? I don't mind him coming out fighting but it seems it's only the criticism has sparked him into life!! One win means nothing. We needed 14 in September to make it a good month. We are still on target but can't afford any slip ups but before he has a go at the fans get 4 more wins and get us in the promotion mix then bang on about it.
  24. Last season his actions weren't acceptable but now he's still here he has to be used. We play every 3/4 days you need a big squad with options. Bruce will flog Kodija to death now he's just returned if he breaks down we are in trouble.

    Graham Taylor

I think they've thrown Taylor's name in to get it more exposure. This actually surfaced a while ago so it's strange how the same account now has a well known name no longer here attached to it.
