  1. Not impressed with Robinson?
  2. Robinson looks busy on the ball.
  3. Give them a chance, it's been 10 minutes. I think it is because they are getting ready to travel for the game in Holland.
  4. The same old 'we could never afford him' I'm afraid.
  5. Lambert has said he is not for sale. I still think anything could happen until/if Vlaar signs a new deal, saying he is not for sale just drives the price higher which Southampton might be willing to meet.
  6. Yeah, the OS is pretty useless, it can get quite confusing with the time differences (I got myself excited thinking the match was in 10 minutes).
  7. I'm assuming if Vlaar wanted to leave and handed in a transfer request, his value would decrease.
  8. I'd like to see Tonev given more of a chance but being left out of the preseason squad, that seems very unlikely to happen. Lambert has seemed quite ruthless at moving on the signings that didn't work out last summer.
  9. For me, keeping Vlaar is crucial for us if we want a safe, mid-table-esque season. If Tonev and Luna are the next likely to leave and that can go towards getting another body in, like Ki, I'd be satisfied with our summer activity.
  10. Bent scored very typical Darren Bent goals today. I don't think he is the definitive answer but he should certainly be welcomed as an option, as much as Kozak I'd say.
  11. during last preseason it was how his name appeared on several teamsheets. Ha that's pretty funny.
  12. Is "Ned' Steer a running joke I don't know about? Seen it a few times today.
  13. 4-3-3 I'd imagine second half. Steer. Hutton. Herd. Baker. Richardson. El Ahamdi. Westwood. Gardner. Weimann. N'Zogbia. Bent. Edit: That's what happens when I spell Weimann's name continuously wrong.
  14. From John Percy again in an article about Hutton. Villa are pressing ahead with their bid to sign Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng and would ideally like to agree a deal before the weekend. Ki has one year left on his contract at Swansea and Lambert wants to make the South Korea international his fourth signing of the summer.
  15. Would be delighted if we signed Ki, I'd certainly feel much more confident about our chances next season. The article mentions he could be our first cash signing, how much do people think he would cost?
  16. Any clues to what the fee was, apart from minimal?
  17. Repost, woops. I really hope Charles can have a big season for us, he certainly has a stronger potential to perform than a lot of our players.
  18. Lambert has said on Sky Sports Radio that he hopes to get a few more players in after the World Cup has finished so at least we should see some more new arrivals. Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says he'll wait until after the World Cup to make more additions to his squad but several new players will join the club.
  19. I think he often makes decent runs into the box off the ball, hoping Cole could link up with him.
  20. Brilliant game today, really hope Senderos won't become his replacement.
  21. Sky Sports understands Watford face a battle to keep hold of star striker Troy Deeney with a host of Premier League and Championship sides chasing him. The highly-rated frontman has broken through the 20-goal barrier in each of the last two seasons, helping to underline his value as one of the most sought-after players in the country. Deeney followed last season’s 20 goals in all competitions with 25 this time around and his form at Vicarage Road has not gone unnoticed among Premier League and top Championship sides. Watford are bracing themselves for offers for the prolific hit-man knowing his suitors are hoping to lure him away from the club this summer. Aston Villa and Newcastle are both thought to have identified Deeney as one of their top targets as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer, while Swansea are also firm admirers of the former Walsall man. Championship promotion hopefuls Norwich, Fulham, Wigan and Nottingham Forest are also tracking Deeney as they see the striker as key to their plans of trying to win promotion back to the Premier League. Watford would be loath to lose their talismanic striker, but know they could struggle to fend off any big-money offers for the 25-year-old should his suitors firm up their interest. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/9344717/transfer-news-premier-league-and-championship-sides-chasing-deeney
  22. Hardly, it was a great free kick. Charles has massively under-performed for us so far and although he is another coming back from a long layout, he certainly has potential and I'd love him to rekindle his Wigan form. If he does stay, I assume he will be played out wide rather than centrally with the arrival of Cole.
  23. I can't imagine he would release the statement without a least something already going on. If Randy didn't find a buyer by the start of the new season, there would be a massive uproar from fans. I just hope it happens as quickly as possible. The amount of rumours from now until the sale could go from exciting to unbearable the longer we have to wait. I'm sure there will be even more false ITK's now. I'm so impatient!
