  1. Why was he put out on the left? There goes the idea he was going to be used as an attacking centre midfielder then.
  2. I swear after every bad defeat, there is always a rumour that someone from the club has sworn at a fan. Lowton wasn't the reason we lost today and played better than quite a few others.
  3. I don't know what's worse, his current performances or the ingenious idea of using him as a number 10.
  4. Another tactical shocker from Lambert. 1) Gabby as a number 10 against a team notorious for their slow defence. He is possibly the player with the weakest footballing brain in our whole team. 2) This causes Cleverley shoved on the left. There goes the idea that he was bought in the be an attacking midfielder. 3) He complete lack of any tactical creativity, once again waiting far too late to make any changes. 4) His two favourites were extremely bad again, Agbonlahor and Weimann, with the former hardly ever taken off. And the worse part is, this isn't the worst we have played under him at all, with Crystal Palace at home still taking that crown. We could easily go 7 games beaten and I would still be surprised if they got rid of him, that new contract was madness. We desperately need a change, something to add some enthusiasm. I was thankful he stayed under the mini crisis that was pre season but if Lerner really wanted to prove he is reinvested in the club, Lambert would go.
  5. Who put the Manager's tactics as very good? You can be arrested for trolling.
  6. Baker will find a way. I have faith.
  7. As long as Baker has a 6 yard head start on Sterling, he'll have enough pace to bring him down.
  8. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/heartbreaking-story-tom-cleverley-twitter-4195850 Here is a link to the twitter story if anyone is still interested.
  9. If Ron signs it will be our best bit of business this summer. And if he doesn't sign yet, hopefully next summer we can push through a takeover and offer him something more enticing.
  10. I was quite open to the move beforehand, although I would have preferred a more attacking player instead but now I'm against it. Even though we don't know the full details, it is pretty clear he wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to sign for us last night, either holding out for Everton or someone else. Football fans are fickle and if he does well for us, that will soon be forgotten quickly but I think it is more likely that if he did do well, he'd look to move somewhere else after his loan.
  11. The only disappointing thing is that it is pretty clear Lambert wanted at least one more signing in. That Incognito tweet got our hopes up.
  12. I really hope these new contracts will be sorted soon, would help with the disappointment of missing out on our targets if that is the case.
  13. Yeah, Ashley Young was **** garbage business Darren Bent, Heskey, and Makoun Bent did practically keep us up in fairness.
  14. Meeting of minds: Has Keane convinced Cleverley to make the move to Villa Park? Tom Cleverley is weighing up a £7m switch to Aston Villa following talks with Roy Keane. Villa have had an offer accepted for the Manchester United midfielder and hope assistant boss Keane, an Old Trafford legend, has persuaded him his future lies at the Midlands club after the pair met in Birmingham on Friday. Cleverley would have to accept a wage cut to join Villa, which remains a stumbling block, but they hope the lure of guaranteed first-team football can convince the player to make the move before the transfer window shuts on Monday. Hull have also had an offer accepted, while Everton are yet to firm up their interest with a bud but would be likely to move to the front of the queue should they make a move with Cleverley having previously worked under Toffees boss Roberto Martinez while on loan at Wigan. A loan would ideally suit Cleverley, 25, as he is a free agent next summer and could thus command a more lucrative deal, yet having been told he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by new boss Louis van Gaal, he may decide now is the right time to move on. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tom-cleverley-weighing-up-7million-4131945#ixzz3Boz2MTzg
  15. It wasn't aimed directly at you but it seems like it has become a running joke to rate Holtby. As i've said before, I think Cleverley would be an improvement on our squad and I'm not really against the deal, but I'd rather strengthen in a more attacking area. Holtby is a good player, not world class which is why he is a plausible option for us, I'd say his reputation isn't far from Cleverley's. I think criticisms of his time at Fulham are unfair, they played him quite often out wide which isn't his best position. He didn't excel at Spurs but he certainly had some excellent performances, especially against us. I think he would be a more exciting signing, he would add some much needed flair and creativity to our team. Again, I still think Cleverley could do well and I really don't understand the mindless attacks on him either, but Holtby would be addressing a more pressing problem that we have.
  16. So can't people rate Holtby higher than Cleverley? I don't understand why that is such a ridiculous opinion to have?
  17. I always felt he had good movement off the ball, making runs that were often wasted when no one spotted them. He just wasn't good enough on it, getting caught in possession far too often. I could never fault his effort but hopefully his departure will be a sign of the club moving forward in the quality of players we have. Good luck to him.
  18. I believe our only two signings from United since the beginning of the Premiership are Ronny Johnson and Eric Djemba-Djemba. Bardsley on loan from Man U? Ahh you are correct, I was only thinking of permanent ones.
  19. I believe our only two signings from United since the beginning of the Premiership are Ronny Johnson and Eric Djemba-Djemba.
  20. I'd rather the money went on someone like Holtby but I don't think this would be as much as a disaster people are making out. To think we were linked to Jay Spearing not long ago...
  21. I think Tom would actually do rather well here and competition for places in midfield would certainly be very strong but if the fee was around the 8 million reported, I'd be disappointed it wasn't spent elsewhere.
  22. Was very off the pace for me and Jack got into the hole far more times too. Think Joe needs more game time after he missed a lot of pre season.
  23. One thing that tactically drives me mad about us is our constant out-swinging corners. Just whip them in towards the goal for christ's sake.
  24. Trust me, compared to some of the performances last year, it could have been a lot worse.
