  1. George Hall is another decent young midfielder from them that PL clubs will be looking at, but as he was injured most of last season they probably have a better chance of keeping him
  2. Jordan James, only nineteen but already has ninety-five Championship appearances, and ten caps for Wales, box-to-box midfielder, good all rounder, been consistently linked with Palace for those that like their recruitment, also nearly joined Atalanta in January who I think also have a good rep for recruitment, wouldn't be too expensive either, as is moving into the last year of his contract, and they will probably have to settle for less being a League One team now
  3. We're where we are and Palace are where they are, they've also wasted tens of millions, but of course because they've won a few games people only notice the good signings, as used to happen with Brighton Also it's way too simplistic to say because such and such player has gone elsewhere and done well we should have signed that player whilst presuming they would have followed the exact same trajectory, the likes of Olise, Eze, and Wharton, go to a team like Palace because they know they're guranteed game time and so can develop, if they had have gone to another team where the pathway into the first team wasn't as easy they might not have become the players they've become Also not really sure why Diaby is being used as an example of a bad signing, for a first season he's been fine, ten goals and eight assists, and has been the main instigator in a number of other goals, also I could be wrong but I think he cost closer to £30m than £50m, all in all he's been a good signing, if we'd have signed an equivalent to Olise as he was when he first joined Palace instead, then we wouldn't have had as good of a season
  4. Crystal Palace aren't anything special, they're just a midtable team who are having a little good run, which is what midtable teams do, they have good runs and bad runs, always amazes me that people always seem to think these runs will last forever, they never do, Palace aren't suddenly world beaters, if we play anything like we're capable of then we should beat them
  5. None of the Play-Off teams go into them on form, Norwich and Southampton are twelfth and thirteenth over the last six games, West Brom sixteenth, and Leeds twenty-second, they all won just one of their last four games.
  6. Some cracking goals in the Worthing v Braintree National League South Play-Off Final, 3-3 as it stands
  7. I had a look on Tottenham forum and their equivalent of this thread, and none of them are even talking about finishing fourth, it's all about what they have to do to avoid being caught by Newcastle, Manchster United or Chelsea.
  8. We lead 1-0 at halftime, Swinkels with the goal
  9. Hogan apparently didn't turn to the end of season awards gala yesterday, of course it's not just about the first team, but their women's team and academy teams, who did okay, but strange to hold the event on the same weekend that the main team gets relegated.
  10. Maybe Derby County would be a good fit, they seem to like our form players Hourihane, Collins, Blackett-Taylor, Chester, and Davies, have all played for them in the last two seasons,
  11. They seem to think they can spend what they want in League One next season because owners can supposedly put in what they want at that level, which I think is true, but if promoted it then gets counted towards FFP in the Championship and so would limit what they could spend at that level, so in reality they won't be spending what they would have done if they'd have stayed up like many of their fans seem to think, also and probably most relevant, they won't be spending as much as they think as the players who would cost that much won't drop down to League One level
  12. Today's performance wasn't just about being tired, Emery had them playing in a certain way to try and conserve energy with Thursday in mind, which happens to be a massive game for the club, it's what we've been doing for a while when we have Thursday and weekend matches, we didn't manage to get a result today whilst doing it, but if it means we manage to turn the semi-final around then frankly it will have been worth it.
  13. We're more likely to finish top four now than we were this morning, on the same points relative to Spurs, but now one less game for them to catch us. We have three chances to seal Champions League Qualification in the next nine days, Burnley beating Spurs, us beating Liverpool, or Manchester City beating Spurs
  14. Why are people talking as if we aren't going to win another game, total disrespect to Emery, we've just lost to Brighton and Olympiacos, we could well lose to Olympiacos again bcause they have a two goal advantage, so that will be three defeats in a row, but we aren't going to end the season with five defeats in a row or whatever, Emery doesn't let this happen, we will get at least three points from Liverpool and Palace, maybe more
  15. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has been released by Swindon Town
  16. Ciaran Clark and Wesley have both been released by Stoke City
  17. What a strange coincident that they sack Rowett in 2016 whilst he has them in play-off contention to replace him a 'name manage', causing them to struggle, and then they do the same this season replacing Eustace with Rooney whilst they're sixth in the table and again as a consequence they struggle, and it's those two sacked managers that come back to haunt them and finally condemn them to League One, Eustace getting an unlikey win away to Leicester, and Rowett failing to keep them up, and to add to the cruel twist of fate both happen to be Villa fans.
  18. We were two goals down in the first leg and managed to bring it back ot 2-2, and we will have more time to do it on Thursday and to score more, just have to make sure we don't concede. Not super confident but it's possible
  19. I had a look Blackburn transfer thread earlier today, and most were listing him as a player they would like to bring in for next season. He did well to get a Championship loan in the first place, if he's done well enough to get another move there next season then even better.
  20. National League Play-Off Final goes to penalties
  21. If Spurs can beat Liverpool as so many seem to think, then so can we, just because we played poorly today doesn't mean we will do so for the rest of the season, it doesn't work like that
  22. I don't understand how there wasn't more added time, Brighton blatantly time wasted about half the nine minutes given, there should have been at least a few more minutes. Not that we looked scoring
  23. Liverpool have been really poor of late, like baffingly poor, not just by the standards of a team that's meant to be one of the best in the league, but by any standard, watching some of their recent games seems every other touch of the ball for them is a mistake, i'm not super confident of them beating Spurs, Spurs haven't been brilliant themselves but LIverpool have been worse Hopefully they're due a good performance and win today
  24. Rachel Maltby played the full 90 minutes as England won their first game of the U17s Euros 3-0 against Norway
