I agree that Liverpool is a step up, but how on earth is Downing not a great loss!?!? I guess we all have different thoughts on him. I just think we could actually do better.

The 'I want to play in champions league/at highest level' is just an easy way to force a transfer. Liverpool I'm afraid is a step up. Downing is no great loss anyway. I'd take the money.

General, I spent 15 hours travelling to watch Villa last night, I also spent probably nearly £300. I understand that it was my choice, but to listen to what our manager said and his actions, I must admit I'm deeply disappointed. I will not be buying another ticket until a change of manager. Have you tried any of this stuff Rob? The chap is fairly local to me (Well in Lincolnshire) I saw him at the weekend at a farmers market in Melton Mowbray. Think he made the papers this year - hottest chilli pepper in the world. I'd already bought quite a bit of stuff by the time I arrived at his stall, so only had a little bit of change. I bought a packet of chilli prawn crackers..... Anyway in the evening I thought I'd try them, I gave my wife one first and she nearly collapsed. I laughed and had one and feck me I did the same! Really, would you. What do you suspect would happen if you didn't? If I left a place of work that I'd enjoyed working I'd try and be fair to them when taking a new job. My problem with GH is that I doubt he'd be here for more than 2 years, so what is the point. Does anybody think he can get us in the champions league in two years? I just cannot see it.

I disagree, hopefully some of our young players will get a chance, Nathan, Bannan, Clark, Albrighton etc. I think (apart from Milner) we possibly have a better squad - because we may get someone who uses it.

Shit club in the north of England (And I'm from yorkshire!) This will not last. Novelty of winning league title/champions league will last a week or two. I'm not sure what the average exactly is, but I'm sure this club over the last 15 years must have finished around 7th at worst (At a guess) That is fine. What does set alarm bells ringing is when a manager departs, the owner bemoans the income/wages ratio and then signs a player that is probably worth 8 million pounds and an equal top earner. Fair play if you are going top appoint KM as manager, but if not - we may as well have a Saddam as manager.
