  1. If this happens to be true then I can smell a reformed bomb squad in a couple of seasons - seems unlikely though given the source.
  2. Trawled through the last few pages - to save other people the bother there is nothing new to read today. Yet?
  3. Yeah pretty much all over East Asia the best players have superstar status. Possibly the most rewarding game I have ever played, bearing in mind that I currently have 332 games on my Steam account.
  4. Going to make it even more fun for you with all the rearranged games for tv that kick off at lunchtime and teatime on Saturdays and Sundays and the 8pm kick offs on a Monday. Getting a season ticket does not seem very beneficial when you weigh up the amount of times you will be travelling at sensible times. You have raised some big concerns of mine - but no effing way am I getting an ST for another club, it's Villa or nothing
  5. The most played game on Steam by a very long way at the moment - and as anyone who has clocked up some rampages will tell you - with good reason. At the time of writing this, 6.81 has not long been out, the TI3 qualifiers are heading to Europe in a few days, and the current prize pool is just over $6 million. In fact, as I am typing this right now it's making me want to play a game. 6. I get the uncertainty and trepidation from some posters - I think the time to be really worried was when the first 'rumour' came out that we were for sale. 100% that's when RL started looking for buyers (if not before that), not 2 weeks ago, not saying that from an AVFC ITK position, saying that from having seen at close quarters my fair share of takeovers, buyouts, fire sales, divisions, mergers and even the odd hostile takeover. Now, if in a few months time we see a statement that reads something like 'we had a buyer but they pulled out, we have begun the search again blah blah blah' then I would start to get worried for our Premier League survival status - not a moment sooner. Also, forgot to mention in an earlier post as it barely crossed my mind, I would not be surprised if RL himself is doing due diligence on the buyers too - this isn't that uncommon. But when all's said and done, I will still love Villa no matter what happens. Villan til I die.
  7. But it is business decision ? - If we let 2 premier league players (Vlaar and Delph) leave for nothing - that's bad business If we let them leave and get relegated that's even worse business. IMO this is even more ammunition to the fact that something is already happening. A smart businessman who has had lots of success and earned shed loads of money doesn't make stupid decisions like the ones mentioned above. All it takes is for new owners to buy before January then it's their problem and their choice - which is more attractive to a buyer than having 2 x 5 year contracts for players that they may want to replace with a higher calibre of footballer. Calm down and have patience lads.
  8. Cheers, seems the only way for me to be able to get to all games this season!!
  9. Not ITK at all - I just have a feeling something has been in the pipeline for some time and it's just a matter of crossing the i's and dotting the t's. You don't simply put up a 'For Sale' sign on a football club with an asking price of £200mil, nor do you release a statement with the tone of RL's latest 'communication' with us if something hasn't already been happening or is in some advanced stage of discussion. While I do not work in the football sector, I do work in the financial sector and deals as big as this do not happen overnight, on the contrary, it can take many months to hash things out and actually sign the contracts required. I suspect at the moment we are in the due diligence phase which essentially means the buyers are making sure there are no massive debts hanging over the club, no ridiculous overheads that cannot be removed (bomb squad can be removed fairly easily (at a cost)), confirming with various authorities what land Aston VIlla FC actually own outright etc etc. What I really cannot believe is that RL's statement has been made without ANYTHING in place - that is business suicide in any sector, let alone football, and even with his poor choices of manager I do not think a multi billionaire is in the practice of making bad business decisions. He has made some bad ones with us, but someone who is as wealthy as RL you have got to assume he has a business head on him, anything other than that seems folly to me. In terms of who might be taking us over, put 30 names in a hat and pull one out - I have no idea and I think that only a select few will know until the official Club Statement we are all waiting for.
  10. Thanks Limpid - seems as though no-one from VT is in the area/has an ST etc etc - I may contact the Sussex Lions Club but even they are a significant distance from me.
  11. He said 'but now people understand the situation'. My da's (on purpose) a glaswegian - just my opinion ofc.
  12. I have moved to Sussex, and owing to the fact that my little one is not so little and my working hours being much more flexible I am very lucky to be in a position to buy an ST. However, going by train from me to Aston will take over 3 hrs each way - cost £100+ return at short notice (about £40 for a couple of weeks in advance). This makes getting too and from VP 19 times a year very difficult indeed for me!! I am hoping someone else on here happens to be living near me and travels up by car .... perhaps we could come to an arrangement re costs of travel etc. HALP!! Apologies mods if this is in the wrong place!!
  13. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/9315766/transfer-news-aston-villa-sign-young-midfielder-anes-omerovic-from-aka-vorarlberg Aston Villa have signed young midfielder Anes Omerovic from Austrian side AKA Vorarlberg. The 15-year-old has penned a three-year deal at Villa Park and will initially become a part of the club's youth set-up. Omerovic is an Austria Under-16s international despite having Bosnian roots and he can operate in a defensive midfield role. The youngster says that playing English football will meet one of his all-time ambitions as he prepares for the move to the Midlands. "It was always my dream to play in England," he told Laola1.at. "The fact that I'm now going there is just sensational and gorgeous of course."

  15. Deserved to beat Arsenal, deserved to get at least a point from Chelsea, really should have beaten Liverpool imo. Conceded 4 goals in 3 games against 3 of the best teams in the league last year. Many positives to be taken.
  16. Given looks like he is moving to liverpool - no idea if its permanent or loan but lots of places saying that he's off. Only a few more to go.
  17. page not found ......... significant?
  18. We should have finished off Liverpool IMO. Had more chances, better chances and Mignolet was by far the busier keeper. We started very very slow (not really a big surprise give the busy week first week in the season) but once we got going I think we were the better team, as per against Arsenal and Chelsea. If I compare how we played against the same teams last year we are obviously a much better team by a long way, but like John I have a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. Hopefully the players do too and this will spur them on to a decent run of victories through September. UTV
  19. Clattered Ba at least twice. Made some crucial blocks, interventions and tackles. Looks speedy as anything. Very very impressed personally.
  20. Ivanovic should have been sent off. Dubious free kick from which an offside goal is scored. Quite obvious pen at the end. -4,356,712.56 / 10 for the ref
  21. Agree, it's looking good. Still want that killer pass from delph rather than dribbling so much. Pass a couple (like he did consistently against Chelsea) then release. Okore looks very good imo, and Vlaar looked better on the left side of defence too.
  22. awful decisions by the ref at some points. Fantastic performance imo. Like Okore (a lot) tonev loked good for the moments he was involved, and the midfield trio kept chelsea quiet for the majority of the match. I think the cat might be out of the bag despite the loss. Also, I especially like how Lambert is no shrinking violet in the dugout. Great to see.
