  1. I think I found the only normal person on the whole of Tinder. Will report back tomorrow on whether that's actually true or not.
  2. So this Tinder thing really is mental, isn't it? I don't know why I suspected it to be any different from any other online dating I've done in the past but wow, there's some nutcase on there. I lasted 10 days before deleting my account. Seems it's full of green-card seekers or ladies of negotiable affections. Anyway, I eschewed the offer to dominate a 50 year old and am having a first date with a nice looking lawyer tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
  3. Clear mortgage for my brother and sister. Take my dad to the Maracana. The rest goes into bricks and mortar. Travel for a year then come back home and work for a local charity.
  4. I was brought up to believe that scotch meant it was a blend rather than a single malt and that was the distinction I was trying to make. Having trawled the interwebz, I can find little to back this up. Live and learn, eh?
  5. To be fair (and as a Scotsman, it doesn't come easy to say it) this is a lovely drop:
  6. Ah, you want to know what it is? Well then, you should just ask, Mr Mooney Top of the tree would have been a 50yr old Dalmore.
  7. Last night I dreamt that I was doing a sponsored cycle ride from Barcelona to the Highlands with my sister and a friend of my niece (who I've never actually met). Not sure how we ended up in the gobi desert though.
  8. Having spent 8 years working in the drinks trade (at the very expensive end) I've been somewhat spoilt. When it comes to wine or whisky, I'd always rather have a very occasional drop of something very special than have regular shots of something average. If only my wallet afforded me such luxuries.
  9. Well aware of the distinction, Mike. The point (I thought) I was making was that scotch is not something I would normally consider drinking but "proper" whisky is the nectar of the gods.
  10. I was making the distinction between Whisky and Scotch.
  11. Sorry folks. My suggestion of a testimonial was firmly tongue-in-cheek. I didn't expect it to prompt that amount of debate.
  12. Surely you're not alone in that. The one I have to suppress is anytime anyone says "I've got a feeling", I immediately shout "Woohoo". I've even done it in meetings at work. I have worked hard to internalise it though so I keep it in my brain and just smile to myself. I don't think I even know what song it's from or the artist but it amuses me greatly.
  13. I have a similar experience with the local newsreader down here in that London. Him: "Good morning, I'm Assad Ahmed" Me: "Well cheer up then"
  14. Right, so what do people recommend for printers these days? Looking to spend around £100 on a printer without crippling toner costs. Would quite like something with a quick output but not that fussed about print quality. Mostly B&W with only the occasional colour prints. Any suggestions?
  15. I believe the odds were longer on a Leicester win than that, yes
  16. An anecdotal story about Phil the Greek tells you more about the NHS than actual statistics? Or have I read that wrong?
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if he is sticking around as he's still expecting a testimonial.
  18. I suspect that I am in a fortunate position in this regard. Being a single 40-something with a relatively decent income, afford plenty of opportunity for collections. My movies and music collection is vast, I have hundreds of books that I've not yet read and a fully stocked wine rack. I sacrifice little for having so much footwear. Then I think about how many pairs of footwear are in regular rotation and realise I could feed a reasonably-sized African village if I didn't spend so much money on my "collections".
  19. But on the plus side, you don't have stinky feet.
  20. Shoes have always been a weakness for me. I managed a bit of a cull earlier in the year and got rid of about 20 pairs. I'd say I've got about 15 pairs of trainers, 5 or 6 pairs of flip-flops, 10 pairs of boots, 6 or 7 pairs of loafers, half a dozen pairs of brogues and about 12 other pairs of shoes. Oh, and two pairs of golf shoes. I think I have a problem.

Aye, I think it's the sentimental value more than financial. Keep meaning to go get it but every time I'm there, I always forget. Will post pics when I finally get my hands on it.

Why can't we see your leg in that pic, @AVFC_Hitz? I inherited an Omega from my grandad's estate last year. It was a proper state so my dad had it serviced by Omega. Unfortunately, I've yet to actually get my hands on it. For some reason my mother is worried it might get stolen from my London apartment and as such, it would be safer in their house in Birmingham. The fact that they've been burgled twice in the last four years and I've never been burgled doesn't come into it. Anyway - I've not got photos of my watch but it's basically one of these on a metal expanding strap.
