  1. Narcos - Just finished.......... AWESOME!!! Homeland just keep delivering season after season. Looking for something new to watch, might give Fargo a go
  2. People are over complicating things.........If we play how we played Sunday we should have no problem staying up. City are by far the best team in the league. Whilst we rode our luck at the end we gave a good account of ourselves.
  3. Something that hasn't quite been picked up yet by the football news outlets. So Russians were doping in the 2012 Olympics and the sports minister was bribing people and covering it up... guess what? He's on the FIFA Executive committee and led the 2018 bidding process. Bribery and corruption fits the mould perfectly. SkySports
  4. Daniel Bryan has been cleared by independent doctors to wrestle, perhaps they might re introduce him straight into the title picture. the only reason he's not wrestling now is because the current staff are worried about concussions.
  5. If Richardson starts and/or Gil is on the bench, my man crush will revert back to Juan Pablo Angel.
  6. My sole judgment on his managerial ability will be based on whether Gil starts against Man City.
  7. WARNING SLIGHTLY OPTIMISTIC POST!!!! We completely deserve to go down, no doubt about that. Its a miracle we've survived this long! BUT!! People saying we need 10 wins from 27 etc......We are only 4 points from safety, I cant see Sunderland, Bournemouth or Norwich getting 8-10 wins from 27 this season? Newcastle is 50/50. They have good players but a shocking manager. I think it will be a ridiculously low total to stay up this year. We have a horrible run of fixtures coming up. If we can keep within touching distance of safety in the next month we have every single chance. (we must beat Watford at home at the end of this month). From the 19th of December our run of fixtures are : Newcastle (a) , West Ham (h), Norwich (a), Sunderland (a), Palace (h), Leicester (h), Baggies (a), West Ham (a), Norwich (h). Every single one of those games is winnable. Im not saying we will win them, but theres definitely a good amount of points to be made. After that we also have Bournemouth and Newcastle visiting Villa park. The club deserves to go down, but personally I don't believe its all over.
  8. Can't see anything other than a City win, but a spirited performance would be nice to see. Just agreed with my friends. We are going to the pub before the game, if Gil does not start and if Richardson plays ahead of Amavi we will stay in the pub and watch it there. Ill spend my £30 on beer, drowning my sorrows after watching us create nothing for 90 minutes.
  9. Moved from Redditch to Oswestry (just on the welsh border past shrewsbury). Mrs works not too far away and I was offered a decent job in Cheshire. Still miss home, and my friends, but go back every 2 weeks if passing by.
  10. He does his job of breaking up the play well. For me as soon as Gil came on it helped Sanchez play. Gil was dropping inbetween the lines and offering him an easy 10 yard pass.
  11. Gil has already done more than Grealish
  12. POSITIVE COMMENT ALERT Ayew has impressed since coming on. Always wanting the ball, and happy to take people on.
  13. On another note i'm glad they didn't let Westwood come back on even though he wanted too. Concussion is dangerous and can't be diagnosed really. With any head injury its better to be safe than sorry.
  14. GUZAN HUTTON - RICHARDS - CLARK - AMAVI SANCHEZ - GANA TRAORE GIL GREALISH AYEW Two holding midfielders will be needed with Kane dropping deep and Eriksen causing havoc. That top 4 will cause hell on the break. The 3 in behind the striker are all good enough to interlink and swap positions when required.
  15. Indeed. Its quite frankly astonishing. There's no other way to put it, its fraud.
  16. Still can't believe these idiots have been in charge for so long. If Platini somehow becomes head of FIFA it will only get worse. I fear his corruption goes as far as match fixing. Remember the Man u v Chelsea CL final in Russia, he was bemoaning the Premier leagues dominance, free market etc. What happened next year? Man u were waiting in the final again, Chelsea were fixed out of the semi final against Barcelona with the 4/5 blatant non penalties etc. There's no way that match wasn't fixed in some way. That was Mark Clattenburg'esque refereeing. I personally don't think the corruption just stops at taking bribes, fixing world cup venues etc.......
  17. Around 12-15th for me. We have enough "firepower" but that defence really worries me. I hope its just match fitness but Richards has been a huge liability at center back all pre season. Now he's captiain he guaranteed to start every game. Perhaps Sherwood will grow a pair and move him to RB.
  18. TJ's helping Faber coach the TUF against Conor McGregor, and he's already been shouting off about him. If/when Aldo pulls out of another fight, i'd love to see TJ jump up 10 pounds and take on the fight!
  19. All started with MoN for me. He blew too much mony. That started the ball rolling. People moan at Lerner but he's spent 100s of millions on our club.
  20. All depends on the next 2 games really. 4 points and I will be convinced we are staying up. 2 points or less and we've had it.

    Relegation

Out of Chelsea, Spurs, Wigan, Swansea, Southampton, West Brom, Newcastle, West Ham. 10 points is VERY realistic, however requiring 14 points out the last 13 games is not guaranteed..These next 8 games are REALLY important for our season. If we cant pick up a few wins we could be in massive trouble. Thinking positively, if we could pick up 4 wins and a grab a draw or 2 we would be in a fantastic position,
  22. He works his absolute tits off Yesterday. Definitely deserves a start. If we are going to play that 451/433 formation with Benteke up front we need quick and hard working players to do the job out wide defensively, yet make sure they are up top when needed. fantastic performance and I think this role will really suit him!
  23. I completely agree with the OP thoughts about some of our "fans". I was a Holte End upper season ticket holder for 9 seasons, whilst going to at least 10 away games a season (whatever I could afford or justify to the family). Even under Graham Taylor, DoL etc I loved it. Yes there were downs, but most games turned out to be an enjoyable experience with my Villa family. Its easy to support a poor footballing team when your actually having a good time with your fellow understanding fans. Those who realise the reality of the footballing situation we are in. After the failed dawn of MoN, things changed. The overall atmosphere of our some of our "die hard" supporters changed. Literally EVERY time Gabby gets tackled I'd hear someone shout "Gabby your SH**", Ireland misplaced pass "Ireland your a C*** and so on and so on. It almost like some go to VP or away games just so they could have a moan and let out some stress. New season, new optimism, new manager. Brilliant. I blackmailed the Mrs into going to her first ever football game. Bought the new kit. That feeling of optimism building on the train. Pre game the Holte was ROCKING!, brilliant, the atmosphere, the positivity I used to love. We are playing with a squad of such youth, young players who needed to be encouraged, we gave it.... for 30 mins, then back to the Same old SH**. "Get that F***ing piece of sh** off" (after making 2 bad passes) and so on and so on. The only thing the Mrs did after that was make me promise i'd never take our son to sit anywhere near the Holte End. I agreed.
