    I’ve been out tonight having a nice time when someone I’m close to told me about how well they’re doing at work and was showing me photos of their fancy new company car. My heart sank, I just couldn’t care less, I find it so boring. I’m happy people are doing well, but can’t we talk about times we’ve shat ourselves or Merlin Premier League stickers?

    Nah, that's what they wanted, why would we lower ourselves to their caveman standards? We were watching our team beat theirs, whilst they were stuck outside playing with condiments. Perfect.

    Yeah, this for me. I was 8 when we won the league cup in 1996. It's the only thing I can remember us winning and I'm slowly approaching 40.

    It’s funny how rumours spread. In the ground, I overheard that police officers had been stabbed and police cars had been overturned and set alight.

    The nonsense people (usually women, to be honest) believe about pregnancy. Just overheard in the office - “the way you behave during pregnancy changes your baby. My mum says she did very little when she was pregnant with my brother and he’s really lazy, whereas she kept herself busy when she was pregnant with me and I’m really practical and active”.

    Yes! That’s the exact page I was talking about. They all seem to have those kind of comments, but that one seems particularly bad. It’s annoying because usually I’d ignore the comments, but with those kind of pages I like to read about peoples memories, or work out where/when the picture was taken etc.

    I like local history and love looking at old photos of areas I know and there’s a lot pages on Instagram and Facebook, but the comments on them always infuriate me. Shite like “everythin was so much better then and we all no why but were not aloud to say ” with hundreds of likes and replies like “spot on, Keith” Even ignoring those kind of comments, the rest are usually annoying for a few reasons. “I haven’t been to Birmingham for 30 years, it was so much friendlier and cleaner when I was young and there was no crime. Not like today when they’ll stab you if dare look at them.” I get nostalgia and certain things may have been better (we’ve certainly lost a few beautiful buildings) but people generally talk so much nonsense. It’s funny there were no comments and barely any reactions to the photos of the slums, back to back houses and child poverty that were posted the other day.

A place I’d never been to or heard of. It wasn’t as boring as this
