  1. I wish I'd gone, I bet it was amazing. Fairground still reminds me of when I was a kid, the hot summer of '95, my mum making Sunday dinner in the kitchen and singing 'AND I LOVE THE THOUGHT...' at the top of her voice. People just don't understand Laura, they just don't understand
  2. Elbow - An Audience With The Pope NOFX - The Idiot's Are Taking Over The Beatles - She Came In Through The Bathroom Window Nirvana - Hairspray Queen David Bowie - Life On Mars I'm lucky, that was a pretty good shuffle. It avoided all the embarrassing stuff, like Simply Red, The Spice Girls, Cyndi Lauper and The Oliver Soundtrack. Now no-one will ever know. Phew! Oh Wait...
  3. I've only skimmed this thread, so I'm SURE somebody has mentioned this...but why are people still debating this? I'm pretty sure nobody has ever changed their opinion on religion by discussing it on an internet forum. It's just painful
  4. And you were shocked at Paddywhack saying he was good with his hands. Seems he has made an offer there you may want to take him up on :winkold: Oh man, I'm always getting myself in these situations. People misinterpret something I've said, I'm too polite to correct them. Next thing I know I'm being drawn by a sketch artist in court. Still, beats staying in on the weekend
  5. I was gonna reply with the winky face, but I think that would make things worse I'll use this one, never used it before
  6. So it's here again. I have nothing planned, nothing at all. I hate international breaks. The mrs does her uni studying thing all day Saturday and works Sunday. I want a project of some sort, something fun I can look forward to. Heaven forbid my laptop ever broke or I ran out of tissues Any suggestions? What you all up to? Do you need a hand? I'm good with my hands
  7. I was really hoping to see Bent and Gabby lead the line for England tomorrow, I'm gutted. I agree Villa comes first though, so aslong as he's back and ready for Spurs I'm not moaning. And yeah, it does seem strange he keeps pulling out Actually scratch that, if the tabloids are to be believed, he never pulls out..
  8. players on their way up, rather than on their way down. agree Like Shorey & Davies? Transfers can be hit and miss wherever they're from. I don't think we can just say 'Don't buy players that aren't playing for clubs that are currently higher than us!' What if Milner wasn't playing for City? I'd want him back if he wanted to come. Each transfer should be judged on the player and the situation they are in. You have listed a couple of "on the ups" (to use TRO's phrase) that haven't worked. I could counter with Young and Downing. Do you have any "on the downs" to counter my list? Shay Given and Richard Dunne. Rob's spot on. So what clubs shouldn't we buy from, the top 6? Because their players will be rubbish automatically? Seems like a daft rule to me
  9. Agree with that, apart from Bent. He scored 19 for me Given gets poor very fast. I might be wrong but Goalkeepers don't seem to be able to play into their late 30's like in real life, their stats always rapidly decrease
  10. I wouldn't worry, I finished 5th with Villa and got the sack. That was 2 days after Krulak took charge at the club
  11. I think it's worth getting, but then again, I'm a sucker and would probably always buy it. Have done every year for about 12 years. From memory, I think the change between this one and FM2011 is the least amount of change I've ever seen, although this years seems really easy. I'm second in January my first season with little effort. Sorry, I don't know about steam, don't understand it
  12. I agree he is talented but the not being able to explain a trick doesn't really bother me, because it obviously is a trick and isn't impossible. I can't explain what I mean really
  13. Magic in general for me, especially when on TV. I haven't been amazed by it since I was about 6. Before end of the trick I'm already bored thinking about the magician having to practice the same illusion in his bedroom over and over again. The rabbit was always in the hat or up your sleeve because theres no other possible way and that's the end of it for me. The only way I could be blown away was if it was live infront of me and I was involved. Even then, if my mind was 'being read', well Derren Brown has ruined that illusion for me I did go to a magic show in spain a few months back and that was good. I liked the unlimited free alcohol the best. Growing up sucks
  14. I've played 7 league games with Villa and I'm third with 14 points, probably my best ever start on FM. The thing is Gabby has scored 1, Bent has scored any. N'Zogbia, Albrighton and Ireland haven't either. Dunne and Bassong (signed for £4m) have scored 11 between them and I'm pretty sure every single one of them has been from a header from a corner. I can't complain really, I'm scoring, but it just seems a bit odd
  15. I'm not anti or pro Mcleish, but he was clueless today. Heskey in midfield? Hoof ball tactics? Infuriating to watch
  16. Welll...there he is..
  17. This is such a tough one to call for me. If it was anybody else I would definitley say leave him behind, but he is by far our best player and I'm sure in the knock-out rounds I would be wanting him there. On the other hand, if the the team get out the group comfortably and the strikers have being playing well, why should Rooney claim his place back instantly? What if a striker gets injured in the first game and we straight away only have 2 or 3 striking options like in 2006. I wouldn't want to be Capello making this choice
  18. I always find a strange comfort in nobody expecting us to get anything from a game, it means I can't be too disappointed and can still hold my head high when I walk into work on Monday. As everyone's already said, anything from this would be a bonus. I just hope we give them a game, which I can see happening. 2-1 Man City
  19. Thing is, I bet if I dug my old walkman out it would still work. In 8 years I've had 4 iPods and have only bought new ones because they have just stopped working for some reason after 18 months or so. I'm a sucker. R.I.P Steve. I shall probably forever be buying your products
  20. The girl who sits next to me at work. Her party trick is going cross-eyed and so performs this wonderfully unique act whenever the conversation or opportunity allows her to. Probably once a day. Then, with her face remaining static, she waits patiently for a gasp, perhaps an audible 'what the -, but how?' and finally an applause from me or any other member of her targeted audience. As a result, she always looks disappointed when I grant her that forever decreasing, near non-existent polite smile. I feel one day I may have a black out and come back round to a scene not to dissimilar from one in The Demolition Man
  21. I'm usually one of the rare 'glass half full' people you get on here, but that wasn't just an awful performance, it was also a snoozefest zzzzzz
  22. 'A possibilty' according to Redknapp. Take that as a yes then
  23. I'll probably put more of an effort in to give him a warm welcome, the anti McLeish lot have been doing my head in since the protests to be honest. I've heard 'Gordan Cowan's Claret and Blue Army' being sung a few times already, really made me cringe. I'm 99% sure McLeish is going to work wonders for this club
  24. Yet its ok to stick your tallywhacker in some bird you've known for 1 hour on a night out? Bleurgh, disgusting. No thank you. I'm fine on my own with my double purpose hand sanitizer
