  1. And how has his "awfulness" been proven? :? Erm..relegating a Premiership side 2 times within 3 years. He had far better resources than some last season and still relegated Birmingham via his curmudgeon shite antifootball mismanagement with his own shaped most boring side possibly ever to play in the topflight. Hes a proven failure in 'Premeirship experience' terms. Hes a terrible manager and should be nowhere near a Premiership side. Hed be on the dole now if it wasn't for our utterly stupid board. STILL have to judge him on his time before even he got here? He's no chance of ever winning some round
  2. What gain would Mr Lansley get from defending McLeish. It's just an unbiased view that a lot of people on here can't swallow. Not saying I agree with it, but I thought it was a better read than, 'waaah waaah, we're wubbish now, waaaaah! mcweish out, waaaah, waaaaah. he's wubbish, mcweish out waaaaah'
  3. I think all twenty of them are going to look pretty silly.
  4. he might lose the ball often but at least he has balls and courage to want it I love Barry Bannan's balls. For me though, the best thing about Barry is he knows size isn't important and so he's happy to get in there with the big boys and shake them off if necessary. He's also got a smashing tackle for a little one.
  5. Absolutely fair play to you mate and I wish you the best of luck with it all, but I'd have to put this in the 'things you don't get' thread. I'm not doubting the feeling of accomplishment, achievement and the enormous sense of pride you must feel, but for me, none of that could possibly be worth risking my life. Out of interest, the people that rescue people from mountains, are they keen mountain climbers themselves or do they just rescue people? I just picture the same fireman climbing a ladder to get that same cat out of the tree over and over again. As I say, good luck with it anyway. Keep us updated!
  6. yup I agree with this completely, I aint been to a club or anything like that in nearly 2 years, cant be arsed for it there are too many dickheads around these days FWIW i'm not yet 30. Thirded. I'm 24 and hate clubbing. Always have done. Unfortunately, sometimes it's unavoidable, like for mates birthdays for example. I'd love to be kicked out of a night club by a bouncer. Not beaten up, but just removed, that would be delightful.
  7. Madness SERIOUSLY get on my tits. Very irritating sound. After re-discovering my love for them over the last few months and telling people so, I discovered a lot of people think the same as you. Marmite, perhaps.
  8. I found this little tinker hovering around on the third page, too low IMO. Bump. Madness, the band. They never fail to put me in a better mood.
  9. #98 - Talk openly about masturbating, but never get caught. #99 - Never admit you pick your nose, try your best to not get caught.
  10. Give it a rest mate Not sure why people are finding this so far fetched after the obvious dissent in the camp at Newcastle. McTool clearly hasn't got a scooby and I would probably rather the palyers self managed as they couldn't make any worse of a job. McTool has shown from day 1 that he doesn't know how to balance a side and this is probably as frustrating for the players as it is for the rest of us. You have convinced me the players are self managing themselves. I believe they choose their own subs too. I reckon McLeish and his team just spend training in the corner muttering to themselves, scratching their sacks. I think everytime we've lost this season it's because McLeish was managing the team and whenever we have won it's because the players were managing the team. I also think this is a very valid point that has been raised and it is worthwhile spending our time discussing.
  11. Sorry I'm quoting myself and this should probably be in the picture thread but I just saw this.
  12. Like I said speaking to others at the game on sunday, as much as you don't think its true, it is! And these are fans that travelled 4 hours to newcastle. To me finishing bottom half is failing and same for others, a bottom half finish is unacceptable so thye would be happy for us to do that to give reason to get rid of AM. Well that is sad. I want McLeish gone because, in my opinion, he is a poor manager and not suited to AVFC. I would love to be proved wrong and for him to be very successful but again, in my opinion, I don't believe it will happen. I will never want Villa to lose and flounder just to save face and get rid of a manager. I can only assume, rightly or wrongly, that those people you have spoken to have become so disenchanted (and that's not difficult to understand) that they are now of this mindset. I think maybe the people Ive spoke to mean they'd rather we finish 17th and have mcleish sacked rather than have a few years of mediocrity. Understandable I guess, but personally I just couldn't ever hope for a villa loss.
  13. Well that's what I would have thought, but I've spoke to a handful of people who do and I'm sure there's some on here. As I say, I don't get it. :|
  14. Although they'd never admit it (not that I blame them), there are people on here that would rather see us lose every week to save their own face. They would also like to see McLeish lose every week and lose his job rather than be successful. I don't quite understand that mentality. Anyway, back to off topic for me.
  15. :? That's completely not the point I was making. My point was it's not a crime to enjoy a win. You would think coming on Villa Talk after a win would be great, but it isn't. It's full of moaners, grumps and nobheads waiting for the next loss so they can spring this 'I told you so' bullshit.
  16. It must get tiring knowing everything and being right all the time. It must be tiring defending McLeish all the time when you know you're running out of options. There's a difference between defending McLeish and having a balanced, reasonable view on him. Does every last little thing he does annoy you? Do you honestly believe he is the worst possible person to be in charge? I'm not his biggest fan either. I'll criticise him if we lose, but then I'll give him credit if he pulls a win out the bag. Surely that's only fair? I don't just say, 'It was a fluke, he'll lose the next game'. Then if he does indeed lose the next game (everytime so far, I know...) I won't say 'told ya' so', because I think that attitude stinks and also gets a bit predictable and boring. We're not getting many wins at all at the moment, we all know that. So don't slag people off for enjoying them and being positive whenever we do. It really isn't 'outrageous', it's actually quite normal.

  18. But that's just it, I really don't think Nike are the best option. They messed us about last season, we couldn't buy the tops until November because the quality was crap IIRC. Now Macron are offering us more money and more than likely, not a template kit. So, personally, I think this is a step forward. A step backward would have been staying with nike in my opinion. I couldn't care less if no one's heard of Macron, hopefully they will have when we have them on our chest.
  19. I was against Macron from the start, but if the numbers are true and we are getting vastly more than we did from Nike then ill go with it. I do think the arguement that 'id rather be a big fish is Macrons small Pond' theory is a joke. Key word is SMALL! Based off this why dont we just get relegated to League One then we can be the biggest club in the small League One Pond? If I had 2k to spend on a gambling holiday could I a) Go to Blackpool and be a high roller. Go to Macau or Vegas. I know which one id choose, Blackpool like Macron is the inferior option in terms of quality. I think your analogy would work if we were paying to go with Macron. As it is, they're paying us more than Nike. As for the relegation to League One thing, we're talking about a little logo on our shirts to be fair, not league postions. Not the same really.
  20. Personally, I buy the shirt because it's claret and blue and has a lion on the chest with AVFC above it. If, in the past, you've been buying the shirts because it looks 'smart' or has a logo of a company you think is 'cool', I think your motives are a bit weird to be honest. No club has ever achieved anything by having a nice shirt. Besides, we haven't seen it yet.
  21. Our showerhead holder thingymajig snapped the other day meaning we have to hold it above our heads and put it down when you grab the soap or whatever. Really annoying. I'm used to 30 minute showers in boiling hot water to wake up, it's just not the same.
