In 12 years, in 3 countries he’s won: 8 league titles 11 domestic cups (+ 2 charity shield) 2 Champions league 3 UEFA super cup 3 World Club cup 27 (+2) trophies in 12 seasons. and from what I saw at Barcelona and Man City playing some of the best football I’ve ever seen (I didn’t see much of his time in Munich). I’m not sure how you won that much and be massively over rated.

On the morning of results day it was clear to me this was the start of an enormous shit storm. How could they not have predicted it? First option: Give everybody their predicted grades. Downside, results averages will be an outlier pretty much forever but at least every student has a score based on their performance and what their teachers think is accurate. Second option: Make up some scores so that this years results are not too far out from historical averages. Downside, many of the students will be given a grade that doesn’t reflect their work or performance. It risks their ability to go on to further education or work and potentially ruins their lives. They are massively angry and aggrieved and will fight back. Hmmm, which do we think is the best option given the exceptional circumstances

I can’t see a team like Brighton spending £30-£40m on anyone let alone someone who has flopped at Dortmund. Their current record transfer is ~£17m. Its a fairly big gamble by Dortmund.

I was surprised Dortmund didn’t walk away from that. £25m is far too much for a young prospect in his first season of first team football. Maybe they paid much less? Or it includes loads of add ons like like winning the league / CL / playing for England.

Pep certainly fell into the trap that several other top coaches fall into. Overthinking team and formation and ending up in a real mess and seeing it backfire. Its like the ego gets in the way and they don’t just want to win, they want to do something mad and win.
