  1. It does have a depressing inevitability about it. Ukraine will become russia at some point. I’ve read that the sanctions will really start to bite before the summer. Russian population will struggle to get every day items. Far more than covid ever could suppress demand. russian manufacturing will also grind to a halt and mass unemployment will be there before 2023. russia isn’t North Korea, they’re actually pretty integrated globally for their economy. if the west hold sanctions properly for a sustained period i think the Oligarchs may have enough of Putin
  2. Could be, Europe barely care about Syria so you could be right. and Putin has basically spent his money flattening that country for years but people still like to blame Obama for dipping in there. Syria appears to be Russias Iraq in terms of inflicting serious damage on a nation, albeit by the air. Europe would surely continue sanctions until Russia backs out of Ukraine. If they don’t then Russia will have a tough few years ahead. They’re going to struggle once global reliance on oil and gas diminishes. That said Ukraine has a pretty big chunk of Uranium to be selling afterwards….
  3. Because the rest of the world are going to smash them with sanctions, and the protests I’m seeing on Twitter from Russia are the biggest I’ve seen tbh. I’ve never seen protests larger than what I’m seeing right now. he may just be able to convince his population but globally he’s lost the dressing room completely.
  4. Let’s be clear Putin and his generals have absolutely lost their minds and they are trying to cover up everything they can from their own people. they’re talking about close to 4,000 dead Russians already. To put that into perspective the US lost 4,400 in the entire time they were in Iraq. they’ve got mobile crematoriums to cover their tracks and a 40 mile convoy by any military stretch is mind bogglingly stupid. theyre only solace is that they have more than likely taken out all of Ukraine airborne defence (drones, aircraft and helicopters). Syria was Russias Iraq, helping Assad take down anyone who opposed him. The longer it goes on, the sanctions will keep getting harder on Russia. They’ve lost nearly £200bn off their forecasted GDP and that’s inside a fortnight. Their economy is going to be in a very very bad way come the back end of 2022.

    Chelsea

From what I’ve read he absolutely cannot be in the UK.

    Chelsea

His assets have been frozen and he isn’t allowed to reside in the UK under the current sanctions. Not sure he can be writing cheques for Chelsea currently

    Chelsea

That’s how I see it. and he’s also barred from entering the UK as part of the sanctions
  8. We are potentially now five points off the drop. Given the game in hand Burnley have. need to win a couple and fast
  9. Before he got injured he was one of our best in form players. Granted seasons before he wasn’t great but certainly one of our best for November and December fixtures
  10. I never thought I’d say it before his pre injury’s form but it’s clear Nakamba is massive for us. not because of how he managed the DM role but that it unlocked everyone in front of him. this squad is far better than our current form and position. better than Southampton and better than Brighton. so on paper we should be 9th, and for me that’s about fair for this squad based on the teams above us right now. that means we need to beat both Brighton and Southampton to get to that position. i am so annoyed that we let our easiest calendar month of fixtures go down the swanny and we now have to do it against the tougher opposition. why can’t we just have one season that isn’t stressful as fook
  11. I’m genuinely worried now. Brighton, Southampton and Leeds. we simply need 4+ from those three games
  12. We didn’t pass with urgency and we didn’t offer a passing option in space near the man with the ball. one example was we attacked down the right near the end of the game and McGinn was walking and Bailey had to make a 25 yard pass back to him. they either all have covid or really cannot be arsed playing the game at the moment.
  13. We’ve lost games we should have smashed the opposition in. we won’t beat Brighton away.
  14. February, a month with 12 realistic points and we are heading for just 1 point. we will struggle to get another 13 points this season. A Very, very worrying 2022 so far
  15. The last three games we have been the worst side in the Prem
  16. Beautiful Wounds by Phil Gould is basically what Ted Lasso soundtrack should be.
  17. Benito Carbone, hattrick against Leeds is the one that sticks out for me.
  18. He looks like Tyres from Spaced but is recovering from years of raving and substance abuse. Now works as a window cleaner
  19. An assist or goal every 147 minutes. If he played every game he’d have 23 goals+assists in a season. also as a sub coming on how much time is he getting in that 443 which makes a difference? Gerrard should be able to look at opposition, look at our squad and make it work.
  20. 5 points from the last 15, that form puts us at 42 points at the end of the season. that’s 16th based on last season. a shite season if you ask me if that happens
  21. I think we will be safe but not by loads. I think we will struggle to get more than 42 points
  22. Going to stick £20 on us not to win. Watford can easily just continue our shite run of form
  23. One of the worst performances since we got promoted. Our pass % must have been horrific
