Thats a good point. But we all know he is highly rated. Maybe the performance analysts wanted him in a lower pressure game or something. Even at their age science is at the forefront nowadays . I would say its just game time more than anything. I just love the fact we have a U23 captain who is able to drop 6 years in age to play.

I think we are effing magnificent this season. I cannot count the number of games that we have been inferior to the oppostion this season. It is because its only the second half of the leeds game . First half of the southampton game and then finally 30 mins of the Burnley game. Other than that we have been proper at it from first to last. Every single game this season we have created at least 10 shots . EVERY SINGLE GAME . average of 15 shots per game . 1 every 6 minutes. I cannot remember a time when we were a constant threat to the opposition like we are this season. Every opposition team knows they have had a game when playing us . Well done Deano

They pressed for the first time this season. Wouldnt suprise me if that Graeme Jones was brought in tohelp with this as Bruce and Agnew probably cannot coach a high press

I think sadly that he will go back to Man City. He is 22 . He is a starter in the Brazilian national team . And Pep will believe he can coach him to become better. Be part of the Man City 1st team squad playing 30 games a season across the CL , domestic cups and the league or play 40 games a season for us ..

He always had technical ability but he was a bit of a Peter Whittingham in that he was a bit meek and unassuming. He was also a yard slower last season which meant he could not block the crosses. Now you can see that speed off the mark has turned him from an average to very good left back. Another player that has come in and has been coached to become better at his job.

Wierd because i actually think he is pretty good. Talks up our great style of football and gets excited by it in the commentary. As long as its not Karen Carney i am quite happy

First time in a long time the new villa reminded me of the old villa. BUT you can see the huge progress. I would have loved to hear Dyches half time team talk because i reckon he ripped them to shreds and told them he was going to transfer list every single one of them ! Still love this new team and the skill within it but Deano needs to recognise he has to improve his game management. If someone is knackered after 60 mins then put on a replacement . We have by far the least number of changes to the starting 11 in the league and as romantic as it might seem to channel the 81 boys and their 14 players used , the game has moved on .

Great post .and i agree it is so hard to see where we could get better. It is because already we are a proper team and i think the sum is far greater than the parts . This is why we are the highest rated team in the 5 leagues on Whoscored . But my top 3 are Cash - love the bloke but is he top top quality ? McGinn - love the bloke but is he top top quality or just a wasp in a jar like Grealish said ? Targett - looking great at the moment but is there someone faster more skillful or with more personality than him out there ? I cannot include Barkley as he isnt ours yet . Hope he is in the future though

Up there with Allison . Genuinely worth 60 mill already. Look at the other night . Darlow is highly rated but as a shot stopper. He panicked when Ollie beat him in the air. No way Martinez would have let that happen. He is brave . He is strong . He leaps like a cat. He always tries to catch the ball rather than punch. Amazing with the ball at his feet and never panics. Can throw the ball over or underarm accurately and with pace and his goal kicking is ace as well. An amazing signing

Absolutely love them . I think you just have to trust him .His touch with his left foot is so so good . He can appear nonchalant but thats just him i think and his personality. The bloke is a scarily good finisher when you watch back from 2015 onwards. And he was rated extremely high in terms of potential back in the day . Another player that we thought was overpriced maybe but lange and smith can see the hidden value and unlock it .

lets put it another way General. When you were in charge of the marine corps would you have been satisfied to see your men being sent out to battle without the right weapons, training and armour? Would you have accepted your defence secretary saying that he is working hard to get in the correct weaponry and then sat around accepting it when this weaponry didn't come to fruition? I guess you would be furious and unhappy that you had been lied to. Well AVFC is our army General and only a blind man would not be able to see the glaring problems . We were lied to constantly under Ellis and given spin on an almost constant basis.You have to take this into account when posting on this board. So far it seems that this situation is starting to occur again. Its always been easy to say ..yeah Randys loaded. He spent 4 mill on a pub so imagine how much he has for transfers...... However I'm questioning this now because despite us being in desparate need of additions there has been no action to remedy this. No excuses about targets not being avialable.
