  1. He has earned his money. He can come back for £1 a week and do it for the love like Perisic has . He will have already earned £60 mill net from his move.
  2. He did well on Saturday. Handled Kilman really well and showed he is learning how to play with his back to goal. Different levels though against Diaz who in my opinion is in the top 3 defenders on the planet. He will be lucky to get a kick if we play into him.He will have to stretch their defence with his enthusiasm and unpredictability if we are to have any chance.
  3. The first muscle injury he has had in 4 seasons i think.
  4. PL Cup this evening against Spurs at Bodymoor. Can't see any Villa TV coverage though Wright Rowe Katsuku.. Bogarde Patterson Pierre Alcock Borland Young Jimoh Moore

He has the best tackle success rate (91%) across the big 5 leagues. Consistently brilliant
  6. Not many players are worth £100 mill. But for us he was priceless. How we struggled without him, despite bringing in 3 players to replace him showed that. Our whole game plan was based around him. We indulged him and we filled him with so much confidence that he could do some amazing things in that team. A truly wonderful player. But when we talk about buying him back thats when i think we have gone crazy. 29 in September , all of his bravery being coached out of him . A treble on his mantelpiece means his hunger might not be what it was. 3 seasons of playing strictly on the left wing not allowed to do anything off the cuff . Spending the majority of this seasons important games on the bench . All the signs of a player that has reached his peak and is now on a downturn. We now have a team that is team first, player second. I wouldnt want to ruin that memory of how good he was , with the likelihood of him never getting close to the influence he had on us the first time. Especially at the prices and wages that it would cost. He broke my heart the first time . I dont want him to break my heart a second time but this time for different reasons.
  7. Trying to second guess the run in is just impossible in my opinion. Players can get injured. Teams can suddenly lose or gain form. I remember last season thinking we would never get 7th after the two one nil losses against Manure and The Dogheads. Then all of a sudden we went back into form . We need to make sure we beat Lille and help cement 5th place for Champs League. Thats what i want . Couldnt give 2 fcks about 4th if 5th can be confirmed , especially if as i believe tberes no qualifying rounds and just this new league format.
  8. You just never know how players will pan out even at 22 years old and who look real quality. Gyorkares goes to Portugal from the Championship and becomes incredible. Kokcu goes to Portugal from Holland and struggles. No wonder so many transfers never come off.
  9. Imagine being at work and your boss started berating you in the middle of an open plan office rather than behind a closed door .and then even worse doing it in the middle of a conference with all your colleagues and and industry figures . Thats what Pep did to Grealish Killed his swagger and confidence over the last 3 years.
  10. After his initial rally against the points deduction he has been managing them with relegation form for quite a few months. Bebe is crap. Dwight McNeil is crap. Good centrehalves though if you like them to be regens of the 90s. Braithwaite needs to get away from Dyche quickly and play for a more progressive manager. And Calvert Lewin is being used as a workhorse .
  11. Did the same with James Chester .
  12. He is one of those players that makes difficult passes seem easy when you first watch them. His ability to pass early with the ball staying on the grass the whole time is a skill not many have.
  13. Loftus Cheek is the one he reminds me of the most. Hopefully without the injuries. So much running power from deep to open up the pitch. 3 positions he can be effective in though, maybe 4 .
  14. Oh god yeah. But you can see his strengths. What he will bring.
  15. We are starting to see what he is going to be like for us . Kai Havertz height but with Nigel Reo Coker strength and JJ dribbling
  16. Moyes swaps Ward Prowse for a right back. Gone negative like against us
  17. Back to Leeds on loan next season for Phillips? Because no one else is going to buy him .

    Unai Emery

The most political club outside of Spain. Would make Arsenal feel like Walsall.
  19. In a midfield 3 he is an extremely good player isn't he.

Wait for Rice to convince Ben White to play for England , and Southgate takes him ahead of Konsa as the rightback / cb hybrid player.
  21. Didnt understand the Mainoo hype. I do now. He has natural talent. Stronger than he looks and a very good passer of the ball. Thats Kalvin Phillips done forever now.
  22. Subbed on after 72 .mins replacing Vinicius
  23. Lets face it. Gareth isnt going to change his system for a striker. Unlike the very best of the managers in the world . Whoever adapts the best to no risk football will be taken and i suspect it will be Toney. Personally i would take 3 strikers but that would be the correct option, which we know will not happen as he will play Kane in all the competitive minutes in the Euros
  24. Back in the old days we were rightly lambasted for agricultural football. Which was based on the fact that we were miles behind other countries on a technical level . When England had a complete overhaul of the coaching system i think 15 or 20 years ag0 and St George Park was built , we started to close that technical gap to the point that you could rightly say that players like Saka TTA Stones Kane and Foden are the technical equals of any of the best players from other countries. For their clubs they play attacking controlling football with great movement . They then come away with England to find a risk adverse 433 system that seems to have been in place for the last 8 years . Coached by Steve Holland for the last 8 years. No input of new ideas and new tactics. No fresh impetus. There has been no success under Southgate because we don't have a manager who can get the best out of his set of technically gifted players. Its like getting the best formula 1 car and then putting wet tyres on it in the dry . No chance of being successful whatsoever no matter how talented the driver is or how good the engine and chassis are.
  25. Too much of a risk to Southgate. Need to make ourselves hard to beat and then try and nick a goal somewhere through a set piece.
