If Emery had seen some of these highlights then no wonder he went for him. Its the balance of team and individual that is so impressive. He doesnt hang on to the ball that much. Always looking for the pass.

I get your logic but i think that if we get to the semi final then you can smell that trophy . Would you be happy us playing a weakened team because we had a Prem game 3 days after that could guarantee us top 4 ? Its a difficult one but i would go trophy first every time. Especially as next season will be even harder to compete in the top 6 .

Harsh but probably true. The only outlier to that would be that he takes a long time to get match sharp and could lose form quickly. Its why Brenda Rodgers always played him. He was known for it . The good news is that in the last 3 weeks he has been the best midfielder on the pitch against England and Arsenal . As you say it makes the bad games really annoying.

I agree. Group stages mean nothing. But the quarters onwards can be mega exciting, especially as theres more and more goals in football these days despite VAR . Whether we get to the quarters would be another matter.

Oh yeah and i hope Villa fans cleaned up at the bookies. 10/1 to win was insane against 4th in the league. I highly doubt it will be 10/1 when they play Spurs.

They are such idiots . I don't know why but it seems that Arsenal and Spurs are obsessed with the word ' deserved' . They think that if they have more chances or play prettier football that they deserve to win. Tw*ts

Look at Newcastle this season. They had some good games that will be remembered by their fan base. But look at west ham last season. Winning something. A whole different feeling. Fans loved it. I am trophy before money all day long .

Putting ability to one side, how good is it to see him celebrating so wildly with his teammates and being a big personality already. He nearly strangled Digne to death in the Villa Pitchside video. I guess he has never experienced big full stadiums before. Must be a huge buzz for him.

I find it mental that Barca can start a 16 year old attacker and a 17 year old centre back in a game like this. When are we going to find a super kid . Ours develop so much slower Is it the better coaching at an early age or just the cream rising to the top of the best youth developers.

Thats because its a different ball game for them. You have lots of average players and a few good ones. Our squad now is packed full of really really good international players and we also play a team game , not a magic moments game..what i am trying to say is that its much harder to stand out unless you know what you are looking for.

Jesus. He was even better than i remembered. Dropping like Kamara does and then playing inch perfect balls through the press. And still had energy to close down after 90 minutes. What a passer of the ball he is .
