He is just a 2 and a half year older version of Duran. He could be Drogba, he could be Jesse Lingard. ..personally i think he will be inconsistent throughout his Chelsea career. After watching him lose it wanting to take the penalty on Monday i don't think he is calm enough to be consistent. That said 10 goals and 4 assists in the prem so far.

He basically won the tie for us over both legs.17 one on one saves at VP , another 2 at Lille( one with his face) then another 2 pens saved .

He is a fiery bloke.But when it comes to penalites he seems like he is the calmest player on the pitch. Deep breaths, total concentration. Totally still. No outside influences. He is as good as Martinez in those moments. I wonder if he uses a psychologist for his penalites as he waits for so long after the whistle goes.

His teams win games .if we can be honest we have only being brilliant maybe 10 games since he came in. Plenty play better football than his teams but when it truly matters so far he has always delivered. And when i say when it truly matters i mean when at crucial times in a season. As others have said he can stay in games that we shouldnt be still alive in , and then get over the line. Alot of managers are able to develop a do not lose mentality when being pragmatic. Unai is able to develop a winning mentality while being pragmatic.

He is far and away the most effective penalty shoot out goalkeeper on the planet. No one else comes close. He has won the last 5 shootouts he has been in. Statistically thats amazing as its a 77 percent chance of scoring a pen. Shows that his shithousery and mentality are the difference between winning and losing .

Yep. Always thought he was like Ollie a few seasons ago. Ollie has developed a subtlety to his finishes and a cleverness in his movement . David hasnt as of yet.

I can truly see why other fans hate him . But thats his mentality. I have watched videos about what he does psychologically to the opposition during shootouts. He claims the penalty box as his own. Celebrates a save like no other keeper in world football. To put the pressure all on the oppo. Its a long walk from the halfway line to take a penalty and when the oppo get there they have to deal with Emi getting in their heads.
