  1. Pep and Klopp are the 2 managers that have been able to buy the best players for their philosphy and tactics with zero compromise. They have also been in their position for 8 years meaning that the youtb have been learning their systems for many years now. As shown by the players they have brought through their academy and into the first team.
  2. There were many things he did wrong but in that golden 3 year period under MON he was bloody brilliant for us. Pace like no other. Strong. Scored against the ' big ' teams and our bitter rivals. Him Ash and Big John were tremendous fun to watch. The other stuff was reprehensible at times but i will only ever look back at 2007 to 2009 with fondness.
  3. Sometimes i think alot of us think we bought a wonderkid who was developed physically and technically beyond his years. He got spotted in Columbia, got a move to Chicago which is League 1 standard at best and then had a half season on the bench before getting into the team. Did pretty well and showed big potential. We only spotted him because we were looking at a keeper and then got all excited seeing Duran and got a march on the Portuguese teams watching him . Also he got called up to the national team maybe earlier than he should have based on his potential. In many ways he is the modern day version of the Gabby project where we took on a 15 year old who was quicker than the wind but couldnt control a ball to save his life and taught him how to play football . So much to work on still with Duran but its clear to see the potential of working with him in the hope he gets to the top of the tree .
  4. It felt earlier in the season that despite the lack of height we had a very good system for defending set pieces. Then its gone to shit . Attacking wise i think he is ingenious with his free kicks though. Putting a man on the goalie until just before the free kick is taken unsettles them and also gives Dougie or Leon a spot to aim for.

    Matty Cash

He has been banned by the Jamaican FA for a game due to breaking his curfew !!

    Matty Cash

When he is allowed off the leash he is decent. Its when he continually cuts inside and stops his runs, that gets me frustrated. But thats what Emery is asking him to do. Its part of the tactical set up to ensure we don't get hit on the counter if a pass doesnt come off or a forward run is stopped by a tackle.
  7. He has been valuable for us once Ty was out for the season but if you arent incredible technically in this league then you at least have to be quick and strong and be taller. Not knocking him but theres no qualities that stand out in his play and natural attributes.
  8. Next season we will have Ramsey and Buendia back . That gives us multiple options everywhere. JJ Rogers Diaby Bailey McGinn Buendia and Kellyman will be competing for the second striker and number 10 positions.. Zaniolo is definately a player but i think he will only be happy back in Italy. We are never going to get the best out of him with our system .
  9. Its like seeing Bailey come out of his tough period. Much more confident , which is making things come off. Properly stretching his legs now and showing his electric pace. Played as a number 10 and was superb. There is no doubt whatsoever that we have a real player. Rodri our striker coach will turn him into something really scary.
  10. 3 midfielders not starting of our best midfield was always going to hurt. . Tielemans playing a position he struggles in. 2 left footers in central defence rather than playing Cash rb. No Diaby from the off. Lots of strange decisions but ultimately a very valuable point and still unbeaten in London under Emery.
  11. No. Its for sneaking out of the hotel when they had a curfew !!!
  12. Qualifies for Northern Ireland through his mum but born and bred in Derby. Playing for us at a top academy got him on Englands radar and now he is already playing a year ahead .
  13. Chaos incoming. He earned this start on Thursday night . Take this chance Rocketman
  14. He really does. Getting lots and lots of minutes already. Lets hope that he repays the faith.
  15. A terribly balanced team that for some reason i cannot wait to watch. Durans first real good game on Thursday is rewarded with his first start. You really do have to earn game time under Emery. Its not just given out to youngsters
  16. He was as good as he was crap vs us at Villa Park.. but he seems to be a real player. Unlimited energy and a sweet left foot.
  17. Jesus christ. The meltdown on their forums.son is past it, ange aint all that, kuliesvski is shit, dragusin needs to be sent back . Reminds me of here a week ago !!
  18. Also a cracking away day ..
  19. Silva is a really good coach. Getting this team full of elderly castoffs and youth to play superb football. Fullbacks are so **** sharp its untrue.
  20. They are a victim of their own success. always been overachieving .But while they have stood still everyone else has bought better. The algorithm seems to be broken. Being hard to beat with quality on the break isn't enough any more in the Prem
  21. I know where you are coming from but i also think that two things have stopped him starting. Firstly Ollie has been bulletproof and secondly Emery seems to make people earn their time on the pitch. He is in his head a development player still. Doesnt give minutes out easily. Kesler hasnt had a minute despite being on the bench for the last 8 games or so. I cannot see him getting a loan either next season. We haven't got anyone else to be back up in our youth and i doubt we will be spending heavily on a striker, especially as they have such a huge premium I think that frustrations aside, he is doing well for a kid that just turned 20. Showed alot more on Thursday than i had seen before . That longer time on the pitch and the 3 or 4 chances he had plus the goal will do him alot of good. Despite causing chaos it was the most mature performance from him yet. He was so raw when he came a year ago. Still is to be fair but you can see the coaching has helped. Cannot teach that kind of power and though in his shots..Thats the difference maker. Why clubs will bid big money for him in the future once he has matured.
  22. He will end his career with probably £25 mill in the bank and will be able to walk round tesco without ever being asked for an autograph. To be fair that would be my favoured premier league career as well.
  23. They really are going down aren't they....
  24. Dare i say it bearing in mind how well we are doing but i miss those type of just go for it games..
