  1. Watched 2 films over the weekend :- Jacobs Ladder: Now I watch a lot of films and TV so how i missed this film is a mystery. Anyway, it was the wife’s turn to pick a film and after some research this was her choice. Brilliant film, really enjoyed it. I may have to watch it again though. Makes your brain work a bit and the plot is quite clever but a bit obvious. 9/10. Drive: Uses all the elements of film making to the max, take out a part (music) and the film is nothing to write home about. Kind of feels like Scarface in the way it’s put together, Scarface light maybe. Not a bad story overall but needed some backbone to it, with no back story to the characters it's a bit of a cartoon. The action sequences are neither one thing or another, why show a birds head get blown off and then show us half the elevator action. It gets a 7 but only just. 7/10.
  2. & the 300 Million a year the squad would eventually cost in wages if he was left to finish it.
  3. I can't remember a manager since Saunders who has actually ever built a complete team, Bigron, Gregs, Little and Mon all came close but the fianl bit was always withheld by the Villa for some reason.
  4. It is a bit pathetic though on their part, it's a bit ......be good little kids and give us money and you might get a nice present on May17th if you continue to be good little fans.
  5. The response in that case should be "O.K great, call me back on May 17th then." What they gonna do, tell us the manager is sacked but it's OK. We have secured Mick McCarthy on a 6 year deal (5 M a year) and by the way he has a War Chest for transfers of 2.2 Millinion pounds. I wish I could say that 100 % won't happen but well you know....
  6. This is the problem Lerner has created, years ago the Villa was a top job and it would be a good thing to haveon ones CV. The fact they have put out feelers says enough, is that "are you a top European manager who can handle a massive transfer fund to get the Villa back to where we belong" or the feelers that got us Mcleish do you think ? Nothing has changed behind the scenes apart from we have less money than before. We will be in the same position next year with another muppet in charge playing / destroying the kids etc. Something big has to change and not just the manager.
  7. "but almost all European clubs pursue victories not profits" -- What a class line there. Almost all.......The Villa are like rabid, unfed dogs with a Terminator like focus on anything other than the pursiut of victories. When they feel like at least having a quick look then they can let me know and I will tell them how to get some victories, until then we wait.
  8. This is the bit I am worried about most, yes he will be gone as they have no choice on that. Can't have an empty stadium can we ? "start fresh in the summer" Now, I know what you mean with the above but what do you think the Villa will do. Logically you are correct and we should start afresh with new ideas and enthusiasm but unfortuanley they have shown themsellves to be totally clueless in every single football department. If they had a clue I would not be typing on page 1001 of an example of a football decision by the Villa. Just because they get rid of AMC will not solve the other deeper problems. To compete we need to increase wages, not reduce them so with that in mind who is going to manage us ? They will have nop transfer money, no squad worth anything tbh and a gap between where we are and we we should be of about 7 years, a change in ownership and a 100M investment on players. Getting rid of the manager will start the process but lets be honest, we are finsihed as a force now.
  9. The Rickey Gervais show is one of the funniest things I have watched. Loved it.
  10. Great news. Let this be a lesson for the Villa, the goal is to destroy small heath fc at the very least, not give them money and not to take players / staff /ball boys or a fín tea lady from over there. Nothing good has ever come from that place and this is the proof. Finding anything good from small heath is like trying to find your gorgeous 18 year old daughter a good reliable husband from Broadmoor. Why they did not listen is beyond me but let that be a lesson for the Villa and us all.
  11. THIS. Dont matter where I sit, there is always a bellend sat behind me kicking my chair. Yep, it drives me mad also + peopel talking and all that. Also, the picture / sound quality is far better in my house + I can eat and drink what I like. The costs for some sweets and a coke in the Cinema are funny, I will never pay it agian and just take my own stuff in. I don't go much now though.
  12. ^^ I see waht you both mean now, too good removes the make believe element of it I suppose.
  13. That seems illogical, more frames = smoother. (Maybe because its not cleaned up for release)
  14. True enough statement that, in the 2nd half a few started to hide. Not super obvious unless you are looking hard for it but some were, it only takes a few inch's to make the pass not possible. To be fair, once the ground turned you need better / older players to get through that. The only possible route is to get sid / mac in now, there is no other soltution. If they don't play for Sid they won't play for anyone. (Sid must be crying inside watching it last night, think of the night games he was in and the atmosphere in VP compared to what it is now.) I feel ill, not joking. Stressed to the max with work and the Villa. Headache all around my head and its all I think about.
  15. I have that problem also, its like when you butter some toast and glue it face up on a cats back and then throw it out of a window, the cat cannot land and floats 10 mm above the ground. It's science I suppose
  16. I have it a bit with a few other things mixed in. Luckily I don't have it that it's noticable, very mild is what they said. Anyway, gotto go write some number plates down and that..
  17. Apart from in the books she's attractive and curvy with a great rack. Whereas Jennifer Carpenter isn't exactly the prettiest and has the body of a ten year old boy. There are so many things wrong with that sentance I cannot begin to fix with the time allocated. Let's just say I disagree
  18. Plus, if you like Jennifer Carpenter, you're just coming up to episode 8 where she shows her amazing abs Having read all the Dexter books as well as watched all the series I agree, she cannot be beat by any other bird on TV. She is exactley the same as the character in the books, what she says, how she acts etc.
  19. Watched a few over the weekend :- Moneyball :- Kind of OK but not really what I expected. Cracking story but you just got to have more of the sport/players to balance off the office based stuff or it might as well be a new way to find oil - 6/10 Sherlock Holmes 2:- Never really got out of the blocks, this had 2 hours to get somewhere and never made it. THe fights are just rubbish, I was going to say predictable but they are and the film makes it that way. Compare this to a 1 hour BBC sherlock, nowhere near IMO. 6/10. So all in all a bit rubbish. I go and watch films now and then just to see if they have improoved buit they are getting worse IMO. Series make films look a bit dull these days.
  20. Yep, me too. Makes me sad when I go back also, especially around the Bull Ring. It was still the old version when I left which for all it's faults held multiple memories for me.
  21. The programme is just no good anymore, it feels kind of fixed from the start IMO. Don't know if I will watch it again. I am just not having the handy figure of 5k to develop the retro thing.....utter BS that. Even the contestants look embarrased at some of it, as in ebarraessed to be there. You don't need market traders to make the programme funny, you need the inbred posh clearings in the woods from Eton telling us they will rule the world.
  22. Bloody UB40! Is everything about this manager linked to Blues Agree with Risso just the 1st and 2nd lines to rhyme and it could be a catchy winner. So the complete opposite of McLeish. Dudes, the opening lines of the original didn't rhyme either, hence mine don't! :-) However. if you want them to rhyme how's about: I am a 1 in 3, a draw is all I need. I am a 1 in 3, a win could mean that I succeed Any better? The lion dies screaming, no more dreaming, ...
  23. Without a proper wage structure in place to match the top six + the transfer funds to back it up a new DOF + manager will not get us anywhere other than where we are now. We might pick up 1 or 2 points extra but the base foundation of the club is all wrong, get it right on the green stuff and everything else at AVFC sorts itself out. This relies on funds that are never going to be available so new manager, big wow. Doomed to fail without major changes no matter who the manager is.
