https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/aston-villa/2019/05/27/dean-smith-the-emotion-came-over-me-at-the-sight-of-my-family/ You can tell his dad was a big, big influence on him and his love for the Villa... Must have been really difficult for him and his family when his father died during the lockdown and pandemic etc and people were getting on his back and calling for his head (Shamefully, I will hold my hands up, myself included - but at the time, I didnt realise his dad had passed away) He got us promoted, kept us up and has brought some actually really good looking players to the squad over this difficult summer... Watkins, Traore and Martinez have all had their chance to show us what they bring to the team... and I think its fair to say, although its early doors, they have certainly added a thing or two... Its fair to say, I like Dean Smith... I think the rebuild of last summer when we appeared to buy any old to plug gaps due to players leaving made a lot of people question what the bloody hell Smith was doing... but he and the whole management/coaching/scouting staff got it done, and now we have been able to add a bit more quality... On a side note, I reckon the signing of Craig Shakespeare will prove to be an absolute masterstroke... Thats just my opinion, of course

HAHAHA! Go on Newcastle and VAR! Got to love football sometimes!

I'm hoping after his very encouraging display against Bristol that Traore can finally take some of the pressure off of Jack and give opposition players someone else to think about. I know it was against Bristol City, in the "least valuable" cup competition, but he certainly added a lot of flair and gave the opposition something to think about... Correct me if I am wrong, but a lot of our attacking movement in that game came through him... and his goal (whether it was intentional or not) was lush... Can't wait to see what else he can bring to the squad when playing with the first team!

Could he be the fabled "Fox in the Box" we have been looking for?
-
Should we scratch his goal off then?

I’m getting that idea too... ”That little bit of class” is unfortunately an overused phrase in football commentary/punditry... but Traoré seems to actually offer us exactly that

Thought Davies caused them trouble and opened them up a bit in the last period of the game. He might not score goals, but he keeps defenders busy -

Hang on... “Super” John McGinn didn’t do a lot to shout about... Matt Targett gave away a penalty and didn’t have the great game... Trez worked hard... Nobody (aside from Martínez) had a particularly good game... -
Martinez keeping us in it with a superb penalty save... We have a few minutes to get our bearings and make some changes... Fingers crossed... Bring on the next half. UTV

Bit harsh... He works his bollocks off, was our second highest top scorer and his goals went a long way to assuring our survival in the Premier League... He did a shite side more than a lot of the other players did, thats for sure...
-
Hope Bale and their other shiney new leftback from Real Madrid both snap their cruciates trying to stand up after taking a shit...
-
Innocent until proven guilty... Its not as if Neymar doesn’t have previous for deceiving people to get his own way... He’s an entitled prick

You don’t smoke laughing gas (or “hippy crack“ as you call it) Overreaction much! Breaking the lockdown laws and being sent home in disgrace he hasn’t got a leg to stand on and I agree with his punishment for that... but inhaling nitrous oxide? Is that really cause for dragging his name through the mud?

Brett Holman, Moustapha Salifou, Jordan Bowery, Karim El Ahmadi, Stephen Ireland... We have signed some dross over the years... and Kalinic is probably the best goalkeeping representative for one of our worst signings

Players you've completely forgotten about

I'll see that and raise you a Richard Wright on Luc Nilis -
Start as you mean to go on Spurs... Hope they implode financially... Bunch of words removed!

Lets not overestimate the intelligence of Harry Kane... He plays for Spurs and can barely wipe the drool from his chin -
Try telling a tightarse like Daniel Levy that... Sees a club in financial turmoil and immediately starts pulling his pants down and taking the cap off the baby oil...

Welcome to the club Ollie! Time to get yourself, Cash and Targett into the England team with Jack and Tyrone!!!!

Welcome to the Villa, Matty!

My reply to those is simple... If he cant shoot, cant dribble and cant pass.... and can only dive.... Why bother double marking him and getting your players to tackle him? If all he offers is fouls and dead-ball situations, just leave him with the ball... He will either miss the goal, pass to the wrong player or run the ball out of play/trip over himself surely? -

Load of Kenyan and Ghanaian United fans spitting feathers that we "ruined Jacks dream" of playing for United by not rolling over to them... Some of them are surprisingly deluded... Apparently, we want to sell him... Thats why we put the £80m price tag on... Instead of £3.50 and a packet of Brussel Sprouts... Morons... -

If Jack goes this window, alarm bells will be ringing... McGinn and Mings will seriously start questioning the clubs ambition... It will be like post-MON all over again
