    This will have to be a consideration - we have to comply with UEFA's rules now as well as the domestic ones. We're in Europe this season and should be in next season too, so it's something we have to factor in to our planning

    This is clearly correct. I do wonder what the goalkeeping plan is - we've got a lot of "prospect" keepers, plus the interest here. The assumption would be that Valdimarsson would have been #2 with Olsen leaving either this window or next. But that then leaves the exact same amount of keepers ahead of Zych, Sinisalo, Marshall, Proctor and Wright and I cant imagine any of the 5 of them want to play the Scott Carson role at their age. Martinez should have 4 or 5 seasons left at the top, but even then those kids will be at an age where they want to be playing. If we keep loaning them out then they wont qualify for club trained status either...

    This. €9m/5 = €1.8m Add wages on to round up to €2m. Selling Chambers (who we signed on a free and will be on much more money) will basically cover this deal

    Injuries or not, this isn't the same team as last year - the lack of squad depth is really costing them. We built a base and then added quality - they've done the opposite. Partly because of the need to buy immediate starters to make a statement in Saudi, but spending the money they have now means they're struggling to add the squad depth. Shame.
