  1. Season is over! No more dire football for a summer, apart from watching England at the Euros, that is.
  2. Comparison with Hamburg is a bit far fetched, but generally does describe the demise of certain clubs quite well. I`d say there are differing reasons there though.
  3. Randy needs to sort out his staff, starting with the Board. Faulkner is not the right man in the wrong job..... We need a board with a winning mentality.
  4. Would be rather fitting if he was to score on Sunday, as he scored on his first game for us..... Would love it, but glad that he will be going too.
  5. I`m not sure if Lerner has the guts to sack our current manager. He`d also do himself some good in getting rid of the current board of directors. Seems they are just as bad as our manager. Sad to see this at our great club.
  6. Cannot see it happening, but would make for an interesting decision, not sure if he could get us playing football so quickly though, after this season of utter dross....
  7. Didn`t realise he was that old! All I ever saw of him at Blackburn (not much) he was not playing the same match as his fellow players, whereby in Madrid he was actually really good. Sort of classic failed signing.
  8. Michel Salgado from Blackburn would be a much better buy IMO, didn`t fit with relegated Blackburn, but did rather well at Real madrid. We don`t need players who are used to relegation issues, rather players to take us upwards and forwards.
  9. I would also be for getting him back in, with a proper preseason he could fit in well.
  10. Norwich are punching well above their weight, whereby we have been punching well below our weight. Good manager no doubt, and was himself a great defender, but I really don`t see him taking us very far, especialy with our lack of patience.
  11. I also will miss him, and like someone else noted, we have missed a fantastic player.
  12. Really only down to our own shortcommings, we lost a lot of points through late goals, which indicates players being physicaly or mentaly tired towards the end. Silly really, but I have not found our players to be particularly athletic in the later stages of many games this season. Lucky the quality of our youth academy has given us the quality to deal with our obvious lackings (just...... So far). set pieces one of the reasons we never seem to score from them, and it gets right on my nerves, us so dangerous, and there used to be a certain tension in the air when we got a free kick, or corner. Sorrry, rambling here, late shift.....
  13. I agree but for some reason others think that QPR will become one of the best teams in Europe overnight ;-) might be city have already won the title though before the last day. at very best it's tempting fate to say that it's impossible that qprwill get a point at the etihad... I do remember a few years ago that Man U had won the title and on the last day lost to West Ham, which kept them up at the time. I`sure there are some stats freaks who will know something about this, was back when Redknapp was manager, and Di Canio was still a young and uninspired Faschist.....
  14. Surely that`s what footballer are there for. Kicking things..... Frustration in there obviously, but none of us know what went on inside, and it certainly isn`t the first time a nightclub door got kicked. Not woth it, move on.
  15. Rangnik would not be a bad choice. Certainly gets teams playing, even on a limited budget.
  16. I also see the chances of landing one of the bigtime managers as quite unrealistic. They all have their own systems which the team have to adjust to, and all require big funding to get the trusted players of their choice. A younger manager will take what he has available and form that, maybe targeting certain players or types of player to enhance. Seems more fitting in our current situation. Whichever way it goes, the person in concern will almost certainly need time, and will be against a backdrop of over ambitious fans.
  17. I f he should come, it will be yet another year of transition, as he would have to get that awful football style out of the squad first.
  18. Is he captaining our team tonight?
  19. We lose tonight and there will most likely be a storm.
  20. Also my worry. If we stay up we will be stuck with a less than average manager. In this fashion we will be looking at relegation next season.
  21. WBA will be playing for the bragging rights, as would we if things were the other way around. Still do not disagree with the 5 points though.
  22. Do they spell bretzel with a P in England? Here in Germany they use a B at the beginning.
  23. Austria only ever make the Euros when they host them....
