    I'd go for Owen Hargreaves, could be leaving Bayern in summer, and I know he's into playing premiership football. Consistent,great tackler, and does have an eye for the ball. Should keep away from injury though. Doesn't make a big fuss of himself like Barton either.

    Despite all the insults, quite funny some of them, we should have won that game, and there are definately some valuble lessons in that one as to finnishing off a team. Still, lots of progress has been made since Janurary.

    Great post! Love the listings and the descriptions. I remember a couple of those players from the time I lived in the UK, and was lucky enough to get to VP regularly. Were definately some great players there, and GB deserves to be in that list thew way he commands the ball. I noticed he gets a lot less yellow cards nowadays too.

    I think that if we win, it will be by more than one goal, as Blackburn are unlikely to show the patience to fight back from one down without making for a very thin backline, and their defence has lokked even worse than ours at some stages of the season.

    I see Villa turning into one of those uncomfortable sides that are difficult to beat next season. It's good to see us investing in youth, and players comming through on merrit rather than reputation. Also good to see that the players we are buying are young(with exeption of Petrov, that is), and looking for a future, rather than those on their way out, which is what John Gregory seemed to like buying (apart fron Angel). Lets face it, with such a naff season (almost) behind us, things can only get better.
