Taylor has played over 170 premier league games, which I suspect is far more than most of the Villa players at present. Just saying.

Try more or less the same side as Bristol and see how we get on. At least playing so many league cup games in a short time it sharpens up the back up players as well. I think it might be good for the league cup if they tried to do something similar in a normal season if possible to get the early rounds out of the way and act almost as a pre season.

Because he plays for a big (well very rich) club. Not that convinced by him to be honest. I would be more interested in Barkley but doesn't sound that will be happening.

What like season when we drew at Everton and then beat Arsenal? Go into every game thinking we have a chance to pick points up. Onwards and upwards.

On the 28th of September last year we had already played 7 games and got 5 points. We are ahead by 1 point with 5 games in hand. That is progress regardless of the opposition we have played.

These types of results start to make you look up rather than down. And that hasn't happened for us in the Premier League for about a decade.

If no one else has said it then I will- Fullham are doing a Fulham. That's one of the bottom 3 I think. Onwards and upwards for the Villa. Its about time as a club we opened our legs and showed our class to the footballing world again. Marvelous. Bring on Stoke.

Sorry to disappoint you all but I think we have done most of our business in the transfer market. I think we might try to shift a couple of players out if we can like Nyland, Guilbert or Kallinic. I think we might try to get a another wide player/forward near the close of the window, possibly on a loan. I don't think Rashica, Barkley or RLC will happen.

I think Smith has decided he is simply just not athletic enough for the PL. Its a shame because his actual defending is very good but has no pace.

So we are interested in a defender? Surely we require a wide midfielder/forward more than a fifth central defender or am I missing something?

I just don't think journalists whether print ,tv or online, has much access to the big clubs for insider information. The clubs are just too big and slick to let slip rumours out over a pint with a journo in a cosy pub like the old days. Especially the local rags, they know nothing.
