  1. He hides all the time and doesn't provide a outball down the left if he can help it. He was OK today actually, well done Neil. They did have non-overlapper Phil Bardsley at RB and two left footed wingers who kept coming inside away from him though. I would happily bring anyone in for him next league game.
  2. 100% there was more willing to put the ball into touch today. Konsa, Mings and Hause all did it at times. Obviously it's not the end game, but it was a safer play in a team that needed points. I thought Hause was good yes.
  3. He'd start for in midfield for Liverpool, he'd start on the wing (or midfield!) for City. You have to say that makes him one of the better players in the world. He's absolutely top top level, Christ what a sad day when he leaves. For the first time in about a year he missed a decent pass today, went left to Luiz/Wes when Trez was in on the right early second half.
  4. That Forest game was an abomination. He let in every shot. Can't remember think it's the first and the last that should have been stopped, definitely the last one. Could have done something for Lolley's as well. Good with his feet, he had work to do everywhere else. Hope he's been working on it all during some time out the team. Playing behind Mings will be nicer for him.
  5. Great we've got a week spare before the next league game. Get ready Kei, you're coming in to save our season.
  6. This could relegate us. He pulls off saves you don't expect anyone to make. Match winners. Point winners. Didn't look too bad to me, can't even see where he injures himself. Hoping he jarred it or something. This is devastating. Nyland's distribution is better no question. He's fantastic off both feet.
  7. I don't think he was too bad. Second half was an onslaught. I'd have him in the team definitely. Either RWB or LWB ahead of Taylor if you want to switch it up.
  8. That's by a country mile his best game. Controlled the ball a lot, fought for it when he lost it.
  9. What's he doing in the squad if that's what he offers. Was playing like he had a broken leg. **** off. I'd fine him for that. And tell him to stay away from the training ground.
  10. It's absolutely peak Villa it really is.
  11. In terms of the PL, honestly I think there's only KDB who could possibly be better than Grealish for us. He's being really silly this season.
  12. We thumped them first half at VP. They're going to make exactly the same change. It'll be Rodriguez on and three up front for them. Get ready Villa. More goals in this. Well done big Wes, keep working.
  13. Right so Robbie Brady is going to cut back every time he gets it to cross. Every single time. Good opportunity to press him because Bardsley isn't exactly and overlapping wizard. Let's not concede by allowing him to put great inswinging crosses in.
  14. This is correct. May as well stick Richard O'Kelly out there.
  15. Don't take Wolves signings too seriously. They aren't really a proper club who has to look and find players. Jorge Mendes decides who goes where and they're just a part of his network. We could have bid £20m for Moutinho and he'd have still gone to Wolves for £5m. What a bloody player btw! Only Grealish has composure that gets near his, he forces everyone to play because he shows them how "easy" it is.
  16. By my money, and according to Percy's article then these are the Suso signings. All the others were on loan already or Smith's lads. Over £70m for this lot. Jesus **** christ.
  17. It is easy to swing stats, that's why I prefer to watch games. Wes is absolutely our biggest concern and we'll be getting relegated if he isn't replaced. We'll then have many of the same issues building attacks in the Championship because he doesn't know what his job is. He doesn't know where to run, where to stand, how to challenge a long ball.
  18. Absolutely embarrassing. He's not even the best British full back we could have signed for that sort of money. We need a system in place, not three blokes going on their own to matches and been handed money to go buy players.
  19. John Percy says Targett was a Suso signing as well. This guy's hit rate is atrocious. He's found two players of real use, Luiz and Guilbert. Luiz is very much one for the future as well. Rabbits out of hat in January or he's out the door for me. Wonder what was the target list if we didn't go up? Maybe it would have suited us better giving him less to spend.
  20. John Percy has his say. Interesting lines highlighted in bold.
  21. Going forward this will be a great example to show Wes on how to play like a striker in a team giving them little service. Barnes and Wood will batter our CBs and give them a horrible time. I'd honestly be tempted to play Konsa at RB and Hause at LB. Fred G, Targett and Elmo are all going to struggle. This is a game for Trezeguet not El Ghazi and Marvelous not Hourihane. Can't see anything here except a real bullying. Watford were crap and beat us 3-0. These lot aren't crap, they know exactly what they're trying to do every single play.
  22. FFS, had high hopes we might pinch him. Well we've got no chance of getting him ahead of Everton. Same as James Justin, these players don't want to sign for clubs and go straight back down.
  23. I'll get this in before we get bummed by Burnley and this thread gets 25 new pages. The more I think about it, the more I think the players are just not good enough. Not picking up points in those earlier games where we played OK has come back to bite us in the arse. Confidence has dwindled and now they're all too scared to play. It's only really Grealish and Luiz who show for the ball. Guilbert always makes an effort to get on the ball when he plays I think. It depends on how Purslow thinks. Smith isn't going to change and play 541 and sit back in games, possibly to his detriment. If we don't get at least two players who are going to start every week, we're going down and it's not going to be pretty. If we want to stay up, we have to either replace the manager now or get players in now. The end of the season's fixtures are not great. We've got about 2 months to show whether we've got a chance.
  24. Evidence is those pair going off injured and appearing back in the starting lineup the next game with no issues. You can think that about Grealish if you want, I won't. I've seen enough from him to believe he's got some balls and will play through thick and thin. Incidentally I wouldn't be playing Targett at Burnley if Mings is fit, not suited to him I don't think.
  25. He's Conor Hourihane but a left back. Sharing the El Ghazi trait of getting "hurt" when it's tough is a nasty habit.
