How much have you seen of him? He's not better at tackling or challenging players. Absolutely no way. If we had gone down, Guilbert would undoubtedly be one of the best full backs in he league. Zero doubts. Don't mind the Cash signing if it happens, I think he's pretty good. Not sure on £12m though.

Big fan of my old man said but they're all so down on Grealish it's beginning to niggle me now. They try and stay middling about most things negative or positive but the constant downplaying is so strange. Can't help people if they're watching Grealish and honestly think he's not a top 6 player or shouldn't be in the England squad. Each to their own but I think they're trying to stand out by not bigging him up. It's like they aren't watching him the way they describe him. EDIT. I've had to add to this because it's so ridiculous. Mad this Grealish pod they've put out. They're playing him down because he isn't as good as De Bruyne and Pirlo Do they know where villa sit in the pecking order? Probably not what we need right now, but Atalanta look like they're signing Aleksey Miranchuk for about £13m. Loads and loads of value out there. Really easy to not buy bad players. Less easy to not overpay.

I think this is similar to the Targett signing, but probably more of a gamble as he's never played in the Prem. Plus Targett is far more technically sound. It's OK, but expensive. Fred G was signed as a Championship player and I think he'd look very very good in that league. Sorry to start a height thing. Listed as 6' 1" plenty of places. Pretty sure he isn't that tall.

I'd be wary of more than £10m for Cash, but reports are all good. Guilbert would look just as good as him in the Championship IMO. He can also play as a wide right which would be handy. A refresher on the Elmo squad role.

ITK silliness yes, but I have it on good authority Celtic need to sell and raise at least £15m this summer. That was before they lost tonight which is a great result if we are in for him. Those days are very largely gone mate. Forget signing a shock player from the big boys (Staunton or something), even a good player from a team of a similar level is rock hard. There's too much money around. Milivojevic from Palace for example. Not even their star man, but a good PL player. He'd cost over £30m. They'd probably ask for £40m and up. It's picking the players good enough who, for whatever reason, aren't playing the level they should be. It's possible, there's plenty out there.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a transfer request go in before the season starts if we don't sign at least three starting players. Hopefully they're speaking to him about it because I'd be concerned if I was him.

Blimey, it'll start to look a bit shaky if Watkins goes elsewhere. It doesn't matter where we buy from. Quality is everywhere, affordability maybe isn't. It's really easy to not buy bad ones. Lukaku from Inter?! Goodness me.

He should have had no excuses to improve on general performance and 17th place IMO. However, no players in is extra frustrating because it'll be hard enough to get current players up to full fitness and ready for the season, forget new ones. This sounds more negative than it's meant to be. I think a lot of the framework is in place to be at least a steady PL team. We just don't have the players for it yet. Market hasn't taken off at all but we're one of the sides with the capital to take action.
