Pretty horrible watching him play a friendly with a massive bandage round his hamstring. Southgate going for the old 703 formation to make sure we're nice and easy to play against. -

We're now getting to the point the team, certainly the 1st XI, is good, so in certain circumstances, yes. If it was for a one off match, De Bruyne is probably of more use to us, as is Cristiano Ronaldo. But for the last few years I wouldn't have. How would De Bruyne have done playing with Neil Taylor and Wesley last season? He'd have had no interest putting in the effort Jack did. He's been a monstrous part of us becoming and remaining a PL club. He's already in the top 10 Villa players ever. Few more years and he's clear at #1. -
Hopefully we don't have to see it any time soon but it'll be a good test when Mings isn't starting next to him. He's still the boss back there, sorts everyone else out, talks constantly. Ezri lacks nothing to be a top top Premier League players. The Fulham performance impressed me so much. Their whole plan was get Mitrovic up against him for challenges and he was sent packing.

It is yes. They're also lucky it's a weak league this season making things more comfortable for them in their first season back. They've got Fulham and Albion that are definitely going down. There's only one place to play for! West Ham in disarray, Bruce at Newcastle, Burnley looking as bad as they have in five years. The pressure is non-existant.

I love the Championship when we're not in it. Swansea, Blackburn, Luton and Cov look like exceeding expectations to me. Norwich struggling much more than I thought they would.

If he has a good season they'll be asking for a fortune. £50/60m I bet. The market has gone mental. For this reason I hope we got some sort of clause and pre-agreed fee in the loan deal.

Absolutely. We still haven't seen his top level, we've just put some good players round him. He's had this in his locker for years. Christ knows what he could do with Kane, Sancho and Sterling around him. Probably win us a world cup or something silly.

After Jack has stuck his name down for a 5 year deal, I'm much more confident of keeping holding of other key players. I would expect to see new contracts for the likes of Konsa, Luiz and McGinn before next season starts.

Only one man in the squad for the 7-2 and the 0-6 thumping in 2016. Young Keinan watched on from the bench in both.

He's exceeded all my expectations. Keeping it nice and simple for now and staying solid. When he's crept forward, his delivery has been excellent.

One at Blackburn is Tyrhys Dolan. Yes, his name looks like a typo but he's started the season like a train. Turns 19 in December.

I just love the contrast between him and McGinn. You couldn't get two more different, yet equally efficient, players in the same position next to each other.

No problem for me. We don't need some pundit who never watches us to tell us what we've just seen. It was just insane. Well done to Smith for tweaking the formation, it wouldn't work without a dynamic 10 like Barkley, perhaps he's just been waiting for the right personnel. Only been here two years FFS. Ridiculous success.

Was good when he held the ball straight up in the air just before half-time. I have no idea what he was doing, but I liked it.
