  1. Can we name the new North Stand after him?
  2. Technically one of our best players. Once 100% fit he’ll be amazing.
  3. 8 points above Wolves 5 points above Forest Close the thread.
  4. 6-4-0 formation. You have to love it, it’s the future
  5. Can’t put two passes together. Awful start from us.
  6. More likely pass us to death and a case of holding out. Make our set plays count.
  7. Jeez, it’s going to be backs to the wall today. Would take a boring 0-0 right now.
  8. Frank could be next to go I reckon. It’s then made for Dyche to go in surely?
  9. For all the debate, it’s pretty clear that the new badge/crest is an improvement on our current version. I think most of us will grow to like the new one over time.
  10. I think finally using Dendoncker, having Kamara back and knowing how to set us up correctly will help us to bring results sooner, rather than later. Using McGinn, Luiz and Ramsey as a three without much deviation has unquestionably cost us points.
  11. Spot on really. I’ve said a couple of times since last night that Emery will have learned a lot from this performance. Our back up/second choice options aren’t great really. We probably have 14/15 players who are good enough to use consistently but the rest are very average. We do clearly have a soft underbelly but hopefully this can be worked on over the next six weeks and with a transfer window or two. We should have at least taken it to pens after going 1-2 up but again, Emery will have seen first hand now our frailties. Think we’ll still see some dodgy performances until the end of the season but I’m confident in Emery and his ability to rectify this over time.
  12. Really really tough game. Brighton flying high and doing really well this season and to get anything at all, we’ll need to be at our very best. Dendoncker comes back in as he’s fresh but Kamara is very close and could start in place of Buendia perhaps? Kamara and Luiz together will be mouthwatering eventually. Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Digne Dendoncker Luiz Buendia Ramsey Bailey Watkins Subs: Olsen, Young, Chambers, Augustinsson, Kamara, McGinn, Sanson, Ings, Archer Think we’re starting to realise that some of our back up options aren’t that great. Could be a really tough afternoon, but will try and be positive and say if we’re at it for the 90 minutes, we can obtain a point. 1-1 UTV
  13. Probably impact sub now or should only start when playing a weaker side.
  14. Really frustrating and annoying. Compact and solid first half if pretty unadventurous but it was clearly working. I think Emery would have been pleased at half-time. To go ahead in the second half twice, we really should have won or at least seen the game go to pens. Emery will have learned a lot about some of his squad players though: Olsen - although a little shaky at times first half, was ok, but as the wore on second half became more and more calamitous. Overall poor and we need better. Augustinsson - Again, ok first half if unspectacular but at fault for the first United goal and then disappeared until he went off. Chambers - I felt for him first half as was clearly uncomfortable on the left side of defence but he did a job. Second half we seem to push up more and more and once Konsa went off, he was exposed with his lack of pace. Probably his worst game for us. McGinn - It just isn’t happening for him. He looks weaker, slower and ponderous, compared to his previous best. Sad, but could be heading for the exit door unless he can improve over the next six weeks. Perhaps this upcoming break will do him some good? Ings - He clearly worked hard to close people down, but without pace, he doesn’t quite work in what we were trying to do. It all slowed when he was in possession and he doesn’t run the channels does he? He’s simply a box player. Young, Konsa, Luiz, Ramsey, Kamara and Watkins were ok to decent, but probably found it difficult to keep that constant press going after Sunday. Special mention to Kamara though, who has that awareness and touch of class that makes him a level above. Just needs his fitness to build up and then then he’ll be flying. As above, Emery will have learned more about his squad, rather than his best first eleven. Overall frustrating because again it feels like a missed opportunity at Old Trafford.
  15. Does so much good work but he’s so frustrating in equal measure.
  16. Not sure he’s going to work with this high pressing game?
  17. I feel for McGinn. His Villa career is sadly slipping away. Only hope is that he has a good six weeks training with Emery and comes back in the New Year refreshed. So sad seeing performances like tonight and it’s been like this for a couple of seasons now.
  18. He will have learnt a lot from seeing some of our squad players tonight.
  19. Absolutely threw it away. McGinn no Chambers no Ings no Olsen no no no no First choice eleven is decent but we need to improve this squad drastically if we want consistency.
  20. Actually worse with Konsa off and Mings coming on. Chambers can’t play a high line.
  21. That was a booking all day long for Maguire there.
