Tony Hibbert on a month by month contract? Osman and Essien are decent shouts, but wouldn't fitness be an issue for all out of contract players?

I actually quite like McCormack and think if he's played correctly can be a real asset. You can see he has a football brain and perhaps a quicker decision maker than some we have. Value for money? Perhaps not, but certainly don't agree that he's a waste of money. Proven that he can score 15/20 + goals at this level, so don't see how we can consider that a waste?

Can't argue, which is why i suggested him yesterday. Would rather have Barton over Westwood and Gardner any day of the week.

David Meyler has always seemed solid when I've seen him. Trust in Bruce to know if he was worth enquiring about though.

Grealish as a wing back would be ridiculous! We certainly need a solid three in the middle of the park though.

I'd still have him in a heartbeat. One or two of our lot need a kick up the arse and some home truths said to them.

Don't think it would harm us one bit in giving either a trial or short term contract to a one or two of these guys: Midfield: Essien, Reo-Coker, Osman, Sissoko Right Back: Hibbert If Barton is released from Rangers shortly, I'd have him until January/end of the season.

Quite simply a disgrace if the players are not fit. Sherwood/Wilkins messed this up in pre season and it now looks as if RDM may have messed this up too. Conditioning and fitness takes several weeks of high intensity work, so it will probably be November before we see any change. Get them in today I say and start double training sessions. Sod tiredness, they've only played a handful of games so far for gods sake. There must be some top fitness guys out there who can get these guys fit and ready to last a full game?

Big week already ahead for SB here. Two defeats would be a disaster and be a huge blow to confidence. However, if we can get 4 or 6 points then maybe things will turn? I'm not jumping up and down with glee at the Bruce appointment, but I'm certainly not too downbeat either. We needed a change and who were we realistically going to get? I would have loved Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche, but would they have taken the drop? I think not. Whether we all get behind Bruce and/or the team remains to be seen. I for one won't be moaning, booing or complaining until we see how this pans out. Bruce won't manage another club as big as us that's for sure, so perhaps he wants to show one or two how good he can be? Give him a chance at least folks. UTV

Thanks for posting this Dave. Never easy, as people can give pelters for any info given out. Knowing this, would Clarke and Bond be following you think?

The dream would be Howe or Dyche for me, but would be happy with Bruce coming in this week as a more realistic target. Rowett or Smith would be a risk and at this point in time, I just want some wins. Bruce would get those in my opinion.
