I dont disagree, we need better, we just cant do that overnight so ultimately have to fill a squad with lesser players. Lansbury is one for me that can offer something if called on and seems a good fit for the squad.

I think a loan like this is very different, barkley is not a young player that chelsea are looking to see his development. No way back to chelsea for him. As long as we develop well, he plays a lot of games and he probably signs for us.

But why, hes on our books, hes not going anywhere, made some appearances last year, played in the cup this year. Look forward to the day that our squad is strong enough that even our second string is better than him but were nowhere near that yet. Would play before nakamba and Ramsey for me.

Hes not good enough for where we want to be but we need a squad and he scored important premier league goals last year. Great that we have been able to upgrade him but he will still be needed for 10-20 sub appearances I imagine. Great option from the bench.

Why leave out lansbury, important squad player and you are only a few injuries away from needing him. Dont understand the issue, performed strongly in the cup games and the whole point of squads is you have depth

So happy with this, another major improvement in the starting 11. This has been an excellent window. I'd like another forward player but not sure i expect it. If you take the business weve done and then consider how stagnant others have been, it's a massive opportunity to progress. Straight in vs liverpool, sorry Connor

I think it's such a tough game but you have to go in looking at your own positives. Weve been strong at the back, Jack is bang in form and we look like we have goals. Liverpool on the other hand have not looked as strong defensively as previous years. I'm not wearing my villa tinted glasses but if they have an off day and we are on it, we have a chance.

Being subjective, I'd say they're had similar levels of success. I'm happy with Ramsey so far, I think his age shines through more than anything though. Performance wise I think lansbury was better in both games I watched which is why I'd rather see Ramsey on loan and still learning, he has potential to go further but needs to play games. Making the next step is the hardest.

Solid window so far, I would be quite surprised by more signings unless others move on first unless loans. Does seem to me like we maybe short upfront but its likely the same for all clubs also in our position.

Gregory just didnt come across as a likeable bloke to me, I liked that he was a villa fan but loved his own voice, so many stupid unnecessary media comments and also found him very limited tactically. A better manager would have walked the league with the players he had. Reminds me of Keegan at Newcastle, some great players but no idea how to get them to gel.

All I keep hearing is that he would rather go to united. I'm sure you would mate but you've just been relegated with Bournemouth

I'd like to see if we could establish a relationship with some of the stronger championship sides and get these players out playing games. So difficult to blood kids now, the pressure is on all the time that I only really see him featuring in the cups. Rather he was playing 90 minutes every week.

No need for me yet, games in the cup again lower league opposition is a great chance. I thinks hes looked good but often that's because of his age. Lansbury for me has been better overall in both games. Ramsey just needs time, I'd like to see him with a year in the championship on loan.

This guy is so good, such an improvement on anything we have. Those who dont think hes his potential dont understand his role. Hes not there to beat 10 mean and score from 30 yards. Hes there to help retain the ball, bridge defence and attack, supporting both. Such an improvement

We should focus more on league position than points total. The points total will vary based on the strengths of other clubs. I think were all pretty much agreed that this years target should be to improve, hoping for that 8-12th spot but clear of relegation.

One other big difference, the player gets a choice as well. It's a buy back clause with agreed fee. The key bit is to make the player feels special, show the intent of the club and make it so he doesn't want to return. Difficult I know.

Would have been a massive signing, hes a guaranteed 7 out of 10 every week, loads of prem experience and would complement so many players in our side. Perhaps not a flashy signing but would have been one of the best we could make.

its potentially an incredible deal, if they can get and keep him fit, hes an unbelievable player, interested to see how Mouinho plays him and who leaves to make way for him.
