  1. I can't imagine that black and gold Luke logo will look any good on a kit. It'll hopefully be just an outline or similar in white. As for the design, there's just no way of knowing unless someone has seen a football kit designed by Luke before now.
  2. After dropping his kids of at school! How awful.
  3. I've unloaded half of my betting account on an emotional hedge bet on Boro to beat us. It's refreshing to think I could win the bet and we could still progress, but i'd rather have my money disappear very early on.
  4. I guess we'll see how Disney go with it for Star Wars. Do they end the Skywalker saga there and stick predominantly to one-off movies? They may try to emulate the success of the MCU a bit with a series of interconnected movies set in the Star Wars universe. It's definitely a successful formula if done well, and i'd argue that Star Wars has enough lore and potential behind it to match the Avengers, even if the overall Marvel universe is a lot bigger once they get the X-Men involved.
  5. You don't achieve greatness by being a big fish in a small pond. As fun as this season has been, I had just as much fun watching Martin O'Neill's sides flirt with the top 4 of the Premier League. Premier League or bust.
  6. I'm being massively triggered here but i'll focus on the comparison I'd suggest we'll see a Star Wars movie at least every year for the next decade, and Disney will market them hard. It'll be interesting to see where both series stand in another decade or so. The Avengers are the poor cousin of the X-Men and the only reason they've gotten so big in the movies is because Marvel didn't have the rights to the X-Men earlier. It'll be interesting to see what Marvel do with the X-Men assuming they eventually get their hands on them. There is only so much they can do with the Avengers moving forward, so an MCU total reboot for the X-Men would be really awesome.
  7. What a debacle. Amateur hour in a grand final. How could they not just have looked at any one of 300 monitors showing the Fox Sports coverage around the stadium showing a clear offside. Imagine being a Newcastle fan. You'd be ropeable beyond belief.
  8. I'm a little bit in love with these! I have a birthday coming up as well. My missus and I just had our anniversary and unknowingly both bought each other sneakers She got me these Nike Pegasus 92s which are in the colours of my Australian football team and I got her these Under Armour trainers
  9. Even when he had well and truly outstayed his welcome, it was heartwarming like nothing else seeing him score that goal against Small Heath last season. 5 goals in 10 games against the Blues. His career really mirrors the fortunes of the club the entire time he's been here. At one point young, exciting and going places, then progressively got worse and less interested to the point of embarrassment.
  10. Can you imagine the relentless hounding of NurembergVillan in this thread if he got the job
  11. If there was ever a time to send a resume in! Assuming we're starting a brand new sportswear brand and producing kits in house, surely a talented, experienced and well credentialed Villa man would be like gold to them.
  12. He's come on in leaps and bounds. He was a liability early in his Villa career but has gone on to be an absolute force at this level. Hope we can keep him.

    Control

Imagine having an effectively bottomless pit of money and still having that haircut.
  14. It's only really Fulham i'm worried about. Everyone else we can beat at our best. I'm happy for Fulham to keep winning at this stage, I don't think we can rein them in with 4 games to go.
  15. Could they not just have a button on each corner a la the end of a Ninja Warrior course which is pressed on the tyre being successfully changed and everyone being clear and the green light can't activate until all 4 buttons have been pressed? Horrible accident. Hope the guy makes a speedy recovery. (We should arguably have a thread for brutal sports injuries like that)
  16. They talk about the agreement being innovative and ground breaking for football. Maybe our manufacturer will be Li-Ning and they'll also be our shirt sponsor, so we have a sort of double deal with them so we can justify the 100 million pounds a season deal.
  17. Shame, I've been really happy with Under Armour's kits. I wonder what the issue was. If we want a proper deal with a big manufacturer we'd probably need to hold off until we know whether we'll be promoted, which would mean another season where the kits are released at the last possible minute.
  18. The bans are manifestly excessive. Outrageous really. Cricket Australia have buckled under the pressure of media driven public outrage and handed down sanctions that aren't in keeping with the seriousness of the offending nor the punishments for similar offending in the past. The opposing captain in this very test series has been convicted twice without ever missing a match. I'm not sure how we get from that to 12 month bans.
  19. Fighting is 90% about size, so i'd go for Costel Pantilimon and Fraser Forster or something like that.
  20. Great post. Trump was clever really. He managed to have Russia assist in his election win, and then roll that straight into the big bad Putin discussion which will get Americans looking over their shoulders and nodding in agreement with any extra defence or security measures a Republican president chooses to introduce.
  21. On further inspection, I really like what they did with Tottenham and Italy haven't looked bad in living memory.
  22. I can't immediately recall liking anything Puma has done in the last 20 years or so.
  23. Looking forward to seeing whether the fault was with the car or the woman.
  24. Making up 8 points in 8 games isn't going to happen, especially when they have a game in hand. It's very unlikely that Fulham can catch them either, but that's probably a good result for us now unless we win out. Fulham barnstorm home, Cardiff fall in a hole including getting smashed by us in our game, Fulham overtake Cardiff and we get a battered, bruised Cardiff in the playoffs. It's all unlikely though at this stage. We're going to have to beat Fulham to go up.
  25. I feel like i've been punched in the stomach. That fleeting moment of enjoying being a Villa fan again when we touched 2nd is replaced by the status quo of despair and worry. We need to find some form before the playoffs begin.
