  1. Been watching the Bologna game for 15 minutes and the kid seems legit. How did he get away from the UK based club?
  2. Gets to play with both Neymar and Grealish. Lucky boy.
  3. Good to see him playing and scoring for his national team. Will help his fitness and confidence.
  4. For us non-finance people, how does issuing more shares work if they already own 100% of the company? Wouldn't they just provide a loan?
  5. We used up all our panic credits at the start of the transfer window. Quite embarrassing when looking back on it.
  6. Just make voting rights a simple majority 10 out of 18, then it's a fairly good deal for everyone, presuming things like the ridiculous rebate for the Spurs stadium are omitted.
  7. I know it's petty - I just don't like the idea of having a bunch of players coming in from the same Championship side.
  8. I used to listen to around 10+ Villa podcasts, but this weekend decided to whittle it down to my best 3. Villa Talks made the cut! Without naming names - I feel quite a few of the Villa related podcasts out there are just a lot of pub chatter between mates. While still enjoyable, they are a bit of a time killer.
  9. I can see Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Leeds getting pulled in to the relegation scrap with Fulham, WBA, Burnley and Sheffield United. I think all the other teams have too much grit to get relegated.
  10. Other than the blatant power grab, the plan is decent. The problem is that by way of the power grab they will make sure all future rules are in the favor of the top clubs e.g. five substitutes, reserved CL places, etc.
  11. They needed a formula to get Man City and Spurs in this grouping. City have been out of the PL 5 seasons. Spurs have not won a title. - so this is the only formula that would have worked to make sure they could be considered "big six"
  12. If two players that just came in from the Championship can command salaries around 70K a week, then our payroll will quickly skyrocket
  13. Really want him to get a cap. How awesome would it be to concurrently have recently capped England, Brazil and Argentina internationals on our squad.
  14. Another great episode. Totally agree on the Club badge topics. Current badge was poorly designed and needs a serious upgrade. I'd like to see an alternate logo (perhaps an interlocking AV) that the club would use on non-kit merchandise.
  15. I guess this is also a sign that Elmo's contract will be extended for another year or so. Would not make sense to get rid of Guilbert just to bring in another RB back-up option next season. Maybe the management feel Kessler is ready to make the step-up?
  16. I understand where you are coming from, but you do have to be agile and crafty as a football club. Even the biggest clubs in the world are loaning players in.
  17. Had a very strong performance for Brazil today. Can't see him staying here past the summer unless he forces the issue.
  18. The club were kind enough to arrange a tour for me back in 2006. Helps when you are coming all the way from Nepal! (though technically I was studying in the UK at the time). Gordon Cowans and Byran Jones were nice enough to chat with me for a few minutes and all the players were more than happy to sign a shirt I had brought along.
  19. I imagine next summer's window being pretty straight forward - replacing Taylor, Lansbury and CH with upgrades at their respective positions and swapping Elmo for a new CB. I could see the club giving Elmo a short-term extension as well to be an emergency back-up option at three positions (RB, CB, RW). Fact that one of our owners is Egyptian might be a factor.
  20. Long-term planning with multiple options should help us in negotiations as well. We really paid top dollar for each one of our targets the last 2 years. As @DaveAV1 mentioned - we should also be looking for a few prospects with a high ceiling.
  21. We will really know where we stand as a team after the next 3 matches - Leicester, Leeds and Southampton. Have to expect the exact same starting side as against Liverpool.
  22. Agree with this. Feel so blessed to have our current ownership group and management, but one potential issue I am concerned about is that they seem to be paying top dollar for each one of our ins and getting nothing for our outs. Ultimately this will have an impact on our budget and FFP.
  23. Fact that he will now have to dislodge Trez and won't just get into the starting 11 will actually benefit him.
