  1. I'm saying he isn't dynamic or athletic enough for our style of play. My humblest apologies for boring you, I was in the shower. Haha, ur not boring me, I'm boring myself! So do u think he would thrive in swansea's side?? Thing is, there's loads of 'technically' gifted players who are not good enough. I'm one :-)
  2. Are you saying he's too good for our technically deficient style of play?? Come on Cambridge...I'm bored!! :-)
  3. So ur arguing that bannan is a better footballer but he's not good enough to play? Surely he'd be in for westwood if u rate him that highly? Where do u think bannan should be (club wise, position wise) to show the world how good he is?
  4. I must point out that I have defended bannan several times this season, because I do think he has had some unfair abuse....so I'm not a bannan hater, I just think having watched him over a few seasons, he just isn't good enough
  5. Bannan prides himself on his technical ability but delph doesn't??? What a ridiculous statement. Ok, who would ur midfield be then? How would u set us up??
  6. What is it with this stubborn insistence from some fans that bannan is so 'technically' good? If he was that fookin good he'd be playing games. Several managers have given him a go then dropped him. To me that says that he has some ability but is just not good enough for this level. I would be amazed if he moves to another prem club that finishes above us. My guess is he will find his level in the championship, like whats-his-face at cardiff
  7. Well Bannan is a better footballer than Delph, but Delph has better physical attributes, also Delph is more direct. For the system we play you're probably right Delph does contribute more than Bannan for his defensive work. However you ask a team like Swansea who they'd rather have, Bannan wins hands down. Very debatable that Bannan is a better footballer than Delph, i disagree if i'm honest. By footballer, I mean technical ability as oppose to effectiveness. I think Barry Bannan is a far superior player technically, however Delph is far for athletic. Still disagree....Delph is better technically. The only attribute bannan may have an edge over Delph is his long range passing. His 'hollywood' balls are a myth :-) Well I strongly disagree with that, Delph hasn't showcased much technica l ability throughout his time at Villa. He is very effective at what he does, but he doesn't touch Bannan when it comes to technical ability. Bannan has a better long pass, he's a better crosser, he's a better free kick taker, I'd say Bannan has a better shot, Bannan's passing is better and Bannan's ball control is better. I fail to see how Delph is better technically. Where is the evidence of these corners, crosses and free kicks? His corners and free kicks were consistently shyte...better than Delph tho....cause he didn't take any :-) Bannan can look ok in some games, generally against poorer teams. Did u see Delph against wigan? He was superb....and 'technically' superb. Never seen that level of performance from bannan
  8. We already have that quality attacking midfielder... Fabian Delph

  10. Delph is, by some distance, a better player than bannan. I think we will see just how good he is this coming season. Bannan does look really good on the ball at times, when he has the time to put his foot on it, which isn't often in the premiere league. Difference is delph makes that time and space. Bannan just isn't good enough at this level. He'll make a good championship player at best regardless of any teams style of play
  11. I've signed up to sha forum....I just keep posting on villa related threads to bump them back to the top. Mind u, I think there is a few villa fans on there f**kin with there heads. One subject tonight is titled 'why villa are better than us and always will be!!' Thought that was a bit too obvious but no...they're being reeled in one after another. It's quite entertaining to be fair :-)
  12. Grandad was a villa fan, dad was, brother was, never any discussion. Written in stone :-)
  13. There has seemed something extra in 3 of the games I went to towards the end of the season...and I mean with the atmosphere in the ground. QPR was touch and go but the crowd won us that one I'm sure...100% behind the team all the way. Sunderland was similar...just a lot louder, best atmosphere for years. Then wigan away...sat with wigan fans like many others and watched in awe...such passionate and LOUD support....I think it's just plain belief that Lambert is the right guy to get us heading back towards where aston villa should be.
  14. Gambling is not illegal. Everybody has a choice. It's down to personal responsibility. You cannot ban things because of a small minority. Anyway, any addiction these days is an illness apparently, so if u catch it I suppose it's just bad luck!
  15. Please enlighten me on nzog's great games last season? He was half decent in 3 or 4 games, that was about it for me
  16. Surely instead of always buying lower league players all the time we need to be looking at our u19s These players from the lower leagues are arriving with a good amount of game time for their age. Our younger players should get out on loan in the lower leagues Think this is the big difference, and crucial difference. We've signed battle hardened young players with first team games under there belts. Compare them to the likes of delfouneso who, imo has all the talent and skill to be a top player. But if he's got used to earning decent money turning up at plush bodymoor heath every day and scoring a few for the reserves he's not going to have the same motivation as a Jordan bowery, who's got his chance the hard way. I'd put money on bowery getting further in his football career than delf. So, back on topic, this guy wilkinson....definitely worth a shout!
  17. Surely instead of always buying lower league players all the time we need to be looking at our u19s yes I'm sure lambert is keeping an eye on them (rolling eye emoticon)
  18. Vlaars 2 have been half decent! :-)
  19. I agree. I think he will be superb next season. I compared him to milner....he will become indispensable. The good thing is tho...he has more natural ability than milner has. He's gonna be top
  20. was fantastic. Sat in the south stand at the other end of the ground with wigan fans. It was impressive to say the least. Wigan fans were good to be fair....one sold me a ticket for a tenner and they did the petrol 19th aswell. Any video footage from today?....red robin was jumpin :-)
  21. agree with this. Was at the game in wigan end so had to sit still and concentrate on the game :-) I thought he looked really sharp and was looking for the ball all game. There were moments where he had created the space and was pointing to were he wanted it. We just hadn't got that pass to release him. A few earlier, precise passes and he would have scored more.
  22. Anyone know if there's any left???
  23. Yeah that's right.......... Still haven't stop chuckling about his parents moving him cause wee barry gets picked on on villa talk!! That's amazing!
