  1. I just get annoyed by so many negative comments on here. Lambert is a good manager and needs to be given time. I know we can't wait forever but by not giving him at least 3-4 years we will never know if he could be a 'great' manager. The downside is that along the way there will be peaks and troughs, that's what comes with building from the bottom up, which is what Lambert is doing. Young players like bacuna are going to be inconsistent, they're going to look poor sometimes, but it's a learning curve. I don't know whether lamberts philosophy will work, but I am more optimistic under him than I have been for a long while, it's not going to be overnight success but I think we should start enjoying the ride a bit more, especially a lot of us villa talkers!! Utv
  2. Ok....we played poorly yesterday, but a game that we lost 2-0, away from home, which included, imo, a soft penalty, and that we were still 'in' right to the end was as bad as chelsea 8-0, wigan 3-0, spurs 4-0, bradford semi, spurs 2-0 under mcleish (hutton playing right mid I believe), chelsea 7-1 under mon, man city 4-0 under houllier????....and I could go on.... Stupid, idiotic, and reactionary statement that is becoming the norm on here. I said it was as bad as anything from last season and the one before, its not A reactionary comment, just my opinion on what was on the pitch yesterday, just because we didn't get a pasting doesn't mean the general performance of the players was better than in previous pastings (the Christmas period last year for example). 2 shots on target, 17 touches in the fuham box against a Fulham team that had lost 7 on the bounce and who has never scored more than once at home all season until yesterday. That game was lost as soon as sidwell scored, going a goal behind should bring a reaction out of the players, the reaction yesterday was "meh" Well 'in my opinion' it was nowhere near as bad as you're making out. Yes it was a poor performance but I saw players still in there fighting and giving there all...I even think they charged around too much. I have witnessed some abject performances over the years, under mcleish; dol, even far back as billy mcneill, and I'm telling u, how u r describing yesterdays performance is a 'massive' over reaction.

Stupid, idiotic, and reactionary statement that is becoming the norm on here. Fulham had two shots off the woodwork and two cleared off the line. They also had great chances, like Kasami who skied an open goal from 8 yards. On another day, or against a more ruthless team (Man City at home) they would have scored at least 7 goals from their 21 shots. Southampton would say they should have scored that many in the midweek fixture we somehow won. If this continues every week it is just a matter of when, not if, we will get hammered, and this time it could be double figures. Ok ur getting hysterical now....is there anyone near u to administer a slap?? Why does everyone over react so much?? Bacuna was brilliant a few weeks ago, now he's ****, benteke was worth 35mill in the summer, according to some on here, now he's not worth a place in the team!! Come on people, calm the f*** down!!

  5. More over reaction Why do you consider it an overreaction?? 1. We weren't a ***** shambles 2. We didn't get bossed in midfield 3. We haven't got the most lightweight midfield in the league 4. Benteke & weimann, if fit, would be everyone's choice over kozak & tonev. We can all be wise after the event. Would u start with kozak & tonev on sat against utd??
  6. They're 'budget' because they're either young or untried in prem. Bacuna is a footballer....only a few weeks ago everyone was creaming themselves over him. He's going to need time, like most of our new players. Vlaar needed time, delph needed time....milner did too...I remember him getting ripped to pieces on here in his early days.
  7. Not true. In fact, its utter nonsense. Is it? I don't remember playing much worse under mcleish, houllier or MON. Well you have a very poor memory then
  8. Trouble is we then have very little talent in midfield. Yeah I think Delph at wing-back would be wasting our best midfielder, although DarrenM has been known to be right about these things. Really made a difference when he came on today though. Fantastic player. Put our best midfielder, by some distance, at left wing back?? Have I got that right?? You mean our best outfield player into one of the most important positions in the modern game? Then yes, you have. More important than cm? Just imagine if he'd been playing left wing back?....he would have shot from 50 yards!
  9. So can I....but anyone out of the west mids can't, we all sound as daft as each other. This is why I've never quite got brummies taking the piss out of yam yam accent
  10. Not bred'rin? I am disappointed. On the subject of accents though, both sides of my family are from Birmingham, with most living in Sutton, and I grew up in Lichfield which isn't far from Brum at all and most of my mates growing up all had Brummie or Midland accents at least, but most people would struggle to place me based on my accent. I don't seem to have a very strong one, and I'm apparently quite well-spoken. The journalism course I did last year was based in Wolverhampton, so you can imagine how most of those guys sounded. They all said I sounded posh and made fun of me Still, better that than a Black Country accent, jeesh. There's no difference!!
  11. The black guy who's on sky sports news says 'park-is-starn'. Wos all that abart? Brummies who say 'larf'.....u know who u are!
  12. People on VT referring to Paul Lambert as 'lambo'! 'franksy' says it on WM, that doesn't mean we have to f***ing say it!! Jeeeesus

  14. The mere mention of this man makes me shudder. If I met any previous manager of our great club, including mcleish, I would gladly shake their hand.... bar this word removed!
  15. Blackheath? Cradley in reality, Haden Hill in belief U need to get urself down cradley market!...it's an experience :-)
  16. It's been obvious for weeks. Hope he's grasped it finally. He scouted and bought them both before anybody on here knew who they were, I'm sure he has cottoned on.
  17. I would rather shag ferne britton than ferne cotton.
  18. Will everyone just calm down...ur gonna make urselves ill!!! Lamberts approach is going to take TIME....that means u have to ride the ups and downs for a while and give him TIME....or do we want the expensive 'quick fix' like we have shown before, doesn't work?? We will do better than last season, I have no doubt. Continued steady improvement over TIME.
  19. Happens to me as well, and if I'm coming down with a cold, I normally end up pulling my wire until nothing but smoke comes out of it Ha ha ha, that's good....smoke!! I did ACTUALLY lol then I wonder how many people actually laugh out loud when they say they do??...not many I'll f**kin wager!
  20. Lets get this right, saying the word monkey in front of a black man could be interpreted as racist even if there's no racist intent? I think I am stupid
