  1. He’s not a very good player. But can do very good things.
  2. As long as he doesn’t eat the contents after he opens it we’ll be alright. Need him fit, sharp and healthy for the season.
  3. Absolutely love this clip and hearing how passionate about our club Prince William is.
  4. Big fan of Wills. And he’s definitely more than “into it”. He’s followed us for years and from interviews I’ve seen him in has solid knowledge on us. You could see from the look on his face at games at VP, Wembley and Norwich away just how much passion he has. I love to see that.
  5. I’d be keeping him on a strict diet and exercise/fitness plan for the whole of the closed season (after he gets back from smashing beers on holiday with Grealish). He was starting to get back to being much more like the player we know he can be in the last few games of the season so it’s important we keep his fitness at a fairly high level to keep him sharp as possible for the restart. A fit and healthy McGinn is just crucial to us.
  6. I saw a photo after the game showing Heaton on FaceTime on Grealish’s iPhone so he wasn’t at the ground, you’re right.
  7. He’s crucial for us and has really taken the role of DCM so well. He’s precisely the type of player we should be trying to build from. Him and (a fit) McGinn will be crucial for so it’s imperative we hold on to both.
  8. Pretty sure I read it’s in October, possibly at the start of the month.
  9. Was going to write a big emotive piece about the game but you’ve all said it perfectly. I’m utterly utterly relieved and Smith and the players deserve immense credit. the game was utter torture, I’d bought BT Sport monthly pass for the game so I could watch it live whilst video calling my two friends. It was like a mini soccer Saturday with updates on goals flying in at Arsenal and Everton. Was such a Villa way to do things. Had popped to the toilet for the 100th time when I heard the screams from my phone. Was pure ecstasy running back into my front room seeing Jack wheeling off celebrating, followed by heartbreak with that awful fluke goal. It was like slow motion and I was screaming for Reina to catch it. It all felt inevitable at that point and my heart was in my mouth. We saw the game out superbly from then. Relieved at full time followed by about 4 more mins of terror watching Watford batter Arsenal. Hoped we’d done enough and after cross after cross by Arsenal the relief when he blew was just immense. Shouting, screaming and running round my house going wild as I assume you all were. The levels of joy and relief were insane. I then got in my car and drive to the London Stadium to celebrate further (it’s 20 mins from my house) and have a photo outside. Shouted with other Villa fans who had made their way there too. The team bus tooted their coach horn at me as I passed by with me fist pumping out of my window and smashing my car horn. I found myself lying in bed until 3am reading Villatalk, Twitter etc to watch and read all comments from Villa fans. Was struggling to process it all to be honest. I’d written us off after coming back from Saints away. And after Leicester all hope was lost. Then a couple of weeks ago we were adrift by 7points with a few games left and I was adamant we were down. So trying to comprehend what we’d achieved yesterday took a while. And still is to be honest. The Arsenal game was incredibly important yet I couldn’t relax and celebrate properly as it all came down to yesterday. A memorable day for sure, highs and lows and I’m just so proud of the team and coaching staff that we got through it. UTV and thank you Villatalkers for being a true place for me to read, listen, learn and take on board other views throughout the season. Sometimes you just need the things and opinions of people you don’t know but who you share a love, desire and passion for our great club with. Turns out I did write an emotive post after all.
  10. Sadly this isn't the case. Even if we win we need to better Watford's score and winning goal difference to have a chance of staying up.
  11. Kienan is only effective when brought on as a sub. And Samatta is only effective when he starts.
  12. As bizarre as it sounds, what worries me is how big our pitch is and how nice our dressing rooms are. Arsenal won’t have to adapt to any poor quality conditions so it’ll be very comfortable for their precious players. Our pitch is so big and beautiful that it only ever seems to benefit the better teams.
  13. Must’ve been bad. We drew to Everton, didn’t lose. Granted, it felt like a loss though.
  14. Showed more than Samatta yesterday yet never looks a threat on goal. Ever. But I honestly don't think he's there to score goals, as in I don't think Smith plays him to score as he knows he can't. He's included to be more so to be a nuisance and hope he can hustle and lay the ball off for our midfielders. Sadly, that's more proactive than Samatta is being. And even more sadly, neither is good enough. You simply can't have zero threat from your strikers if you wish to stay in this division.
  15. VAR is being used in the Championship next season isn't it?
  16. Agree with this. That white one is a beaut.
  17. Hopefully they had that last week against Saints.
  18. As always he flatters to deceive.
  19. I’ll take this back. He looked slow, sluggish, lacking sharpness and completely off the pace tonight.
  20. We can’t handle adversity. It’s been the story of our season. Our heads utterly dropped after the penalty and we gave up and it showed. That level of character we showed gives you very little hope of survival.
  21. I’d be amazed if Smith changed the lineup from the one that started against Liverpool.
  22. Looks fitter, sharper and better on the ball. Need him to keep this up.
  23. I’ve got a feeling our only win will come in the last game of the season. But by then West Ham will be safe and we’ll already be down.
