  1. The condition - everyone rerolls a character!
  2. Just logged into my Battle.net account since forever and it says I can get the PandaLand expansion for £14.99. That probably wouldn't include game time though would it?
  3. Walk around as a human and the PvP will come to you....

    GTA 5

My first experience with them was a bad one. After that though, I've ordered from them a fair few times with no issues. Got my dispatch email and text from them today so should have the game by Monday. Went for the PS3 version because I ain't giving Microsoft money for the privilege of playing GTA Online.
  5. I'd probably be up for this but right now, I'm still very much enjoying FFXIV. Just the one MMO sub fee for me I think. Edit: Ok, which one of you is Flayre and how far down the rabbit hole do I need to go to get you your mount?
  6. This review is the catalyst that started the VT WoW journey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEIwYKWShjM I watched that, picked the game up and after playing for about a week, waxed lyrical to Nayson about how he needed to get it. He did and after a false start playing as shitty Alliance characters, we swapped to Horde Undead. Nayson discovered the magic, pulled Designer1 into the fold and this thread was born.
  7. I've been playing FFXIV 2.0 since the Phase 3 beta. Its a genuinely good MMO and in another league when compared to the utter catastrophe the original version was. Absolutely bags of fan service in there to boot, helmed by a new director who has remade the game from the ground up and really knows what he's doing. I'll be playing on windows PC on EU Moogle with the folk from Rllmuk. And despite being on the PC version, I'll be playing with my Xbox 360 pad! (because the one major thing that leapt out at me when I played was just how well it played using one)

    Gaming 2013

If you're talking UI design then yeah, they could tweak that stuff. If you're suggesting gameplay hand-holding then hell no. A punishing and cryptic world is key to the whole experience.
  9. The marketing for that character arc was overstated but the fact is, she does develop as a character over the course of the game, becoming more hardened like the Lara Croft we know of old and accustomed to doing what is needed to get shit done. Kill of be killed. The missteps are that some of that character change happens a bit to fast in parts of the game. Its a difficult issue to solve though because at some point, gameplay will suffer if Lara has to remain useless at combat for a larger period in a game with a fair old chunk of pretty fast paced combat.
  10. Even as a big, big fan of the old Tomb Raider games, I think this new one bloody fantastic personally. If the follow up is revealed to develop into Lara's tomb raiding adventures (primarily exploring tombs that is) then I might just explode with giddy excitement. The flashes of old TR in this are amazing.
  11. Now go read Alex's GB review Nayson. Then check this video out... http://youtu.be/3z2qVebxlUo
  12. I'd like to think a lot of people recognized Gearbox involvement in DNF as bringing it to market for the sake of the fans who'd waited so long. A rescue job lots of people were hoping for (or a cynical PR move depending on your perspective). Ultimately, I think the fact the game was fundamentally shite and wasn't worth saving is more of a condemnation of 3D Realms. But A:CM? This is Gearbox well and truly caught with their pants down. They were't liberal with the truth - they've outright bullshitted everyone. It's all quiet on Randy Pitchford's usually very active twitter account.
  13. This whole thing reminds me of Vanguard (the MMO) suffering a similar development hell. The game wasn't farmed out to a sub-contracted developer like A:CM but the developers themselves - Sigil Games (more specifically their joint CEOs) - lied their way to securing money with outright fakery. Many of their gameplay presentations at trade shows were complete fabrications designed to not only fool the press but also their publisher (Microsoft) into believing that they were working on the game when they were in fact not. Microsoft caught wind of the bullshit eventually and pulled out before legal action took place. Sony bless em bought the game and then shortly after its release realised what a turkey they'd bought and since then have had to fix it themselves to get some kind of return. The game had allegedly been in development for something like 5 years, crafted by MMO heavyweights - in truth, the shipped product was created in less than a year by amateur programmers fresh into the industry. Sigil didn't survive the mess. Gearbox undoubtedly will survive this but boy has their reputation taken an absolute battering. Randy Pitchford in particular - I always thought that guy came across as genuine and passionate about making videogames (and maybe he is) but he's taken a massive misstep by flat out lying about A:CM. If I were Sega, I'd still be pursuing legal action against them (which apparently was very close to happening and the reason why the game got kicked out the door clearly rushed and unfinished). Heads should roll for this game.
  14. Finished the new DmC yesterday. Fantastic game. Finally moved onto playing Ni No Kuni which so far is every bit as whimsical and enchanting as I wanted it to be. Also got Asura's Wrath on the go. It's mental.
  15. Let me know what you think of those two cases Nayson.
  16. Mine arrived yesterday. Very nice it is too!
  17. Wha? Well I hope that means we might be getting ours at least a little bit earlier than first thought.
  18. Non-existent more like. It's almost as if Nintendo know themselves that they have a complete turkey on their hands and sent it out to die. The Wii bubble burst and they're back to being completely out of ideas. It's amazing how out of touch they are with the direction the industry has grown - how the hell can a company this late in the game STILL not know how to do online gaming for example.
  19. I've only done the first dungeon despite being level enough to do the second. To be honest, the first one isn't amazing. I ran it with Rllmuk guildies and whilst we didn't find it too difficult (it had its moments), a lot of folk are saying that in comparison to the level 40 dungeon, its silly overtuned and a little bit boring. I enjoyed it but I'm expecting better in the later ones.
  20. Anet have just announced support for Mac OS. Its still in beta but you can grab the client from your account section at www.guildwars2.com
  21. Satirical online news site The Onion making its point with gusto. Its NSFW by the way.
  22. I dunno about that. One of the diplomats killed in Benghazi was a Something Awful moderator and member of Goonswarm. I didn't know Sean Smith personally but being a user of that forum and an ex-member of Goonswarm myself, its not really that funny to learn someone you played alongside in a video game has just been brutally murdered by a bunch of barbaric, brain dead pieces of shit in the name of an imaginary friend.
  23. Also, no breath bar! I wonder if playing an infinite underwater breathing Warlock is why I never really related to a lot of the complaints about WoWs underwater stuff (vanilla that is, not zones based on it in later expansions). Just being able to take my time under the waves removed a lot of the chore I used to feel playing my WoW rogue underwater.
