  1. Just to be clear stevo, i am not saying he is or isnt ready, only its unlikely at his age he is ready as it happens so seldom that cbs perform at his age.
  2. This is crazy for me. Could count on one hand the number of cbs that played at an early age and succeeded right away. Other positions, it happens much more frequently, but, especially in this division, a cb needs to be physically strong, and its rare to see that kind of development in an 18/19 year old as players rarely develop like that, usually takes an extra 2 or 3 years for a ch to physically mature sufficiently. Not saying bedeaux cant or wont, its just rare in his position. Nothard to find a load of strikers, wingers, attacking cms and even fullbacks who have, but chs, not so much.
  3. Dont get bringing Hogan on for Abraham unless kodjias going up top
  4. Improvement again on the whole tonight. 3 or 4 additions and we could have a good 2nd half to the season
  5. Sky reporting chesters goal was clearly offside. How can you be clearly offside with the defenders arm across your chest?
  6. Remember the McDonalds tv advert "can i have a career with that?"
  7. You dont need any qualifications to operate a till effectively. I worked a till in a busy supermarket at 15/16 and out of all the checkout people i had the highest items per minute and lowest time per customer. I got 20% more pay as a result. Incentives make people work harder!
  8. By starting them both you instantly commit to two early subs, what if you need to change tactics or we get 2 injuries like we did the other day? Asking for trouble!
  9. Luke Moore: 283 career appearances (84 for villa) 42 career goals (14 for villa) A goal every 6.7 games in his career (1 in 6 for villa) But scored nearly all his goals at prem level Not exactly a terrible career
  10. For now, i am comfortable enough with DS as we can see clear improvements. I truely thought we were the better side against QPR and had we been more clinical may have scored 3 or 4. If we can stay afloat until jan, and bring in a few players, we could see a strong run in for the end of the season.
  11. Enforced subs or not, bringing on hogan and not kodjia was a poor decision.
  12. Think we have easily been the better side. We lack a killer instinct and our fitness is poor. Smith will fixthe latter. For such a talented group i still dont understand why we struggle to score...
  13. You didnt present it as an observation, you outright criticised him for not having a plan b, which in my opinion is premature.
  14. Do you honestly think 10 days is enough to drill 2 new methods of play into a squad of players? For him to have clearly gotten one into them is a massive achievement, as the way we played first half was clearly better than under Bruce. Plan b will come in time, but lets get plan a working first, eh?
  15. Shadow of the player he was last season and playing so far within himself its obscene. He has clearly been impacted by the spurs attempt to sign him and isnot putting in the effort or quality. Mcginn has been far better than him, and has a fraction of his ability. If you think what grealish has done this season, fair enough, but i expect more from him. I'd call you names too, but why lower myself?
  16. We have been pretty poor tonight for me. Too many passengers. Lots of work to do
  17. I so want him to be this amazing player, he certainly has talent! My fear is that he is a luxiry player, and that we wont see the best of him at villa as the others around him just arent at the same level. At a better team, he would be a rockstar
  18. Based on what exactly? One has played and scored a lot of goals at this level, the other has been fit for about 6 gamesin 3 seasons
  19. For the most part, i reckon theyd get into our starting 11 comfortably. Lets also not forget the likes of johnson and robinson at pne and burke who is now in the ireland setup regularly. As a club we dont make enough of promising youth in the first team, and i look forward to that changing!
  20. Yeah whilst not 100% serious, the quotes were to emphasize that the respective situations are too dissimilar to really draw any fair comparison. Though i would alsoargue Bruce inherited a more balanced (thoughstill unbalanced) squad, due to our poor defensive position
  21. Very difficult to make the comparison between a win percentage in the championship, where we have by far the biggest budget, best facilities, and highest money spent over 2 years, to a win percentage in the prem where we were no where near as big a fish and had nextto no spending power.
