  1. Think we will concede a huge amount of goals and not convince we play a style that will lead to us scoring loads despite the attacking players brought in.
  2. If we fail to bring in a CB then its a poor window regardless of anything else done. Our defence is dire
  3. Yes the performance was poor and the players need to accept a lot of responsibility for that. BUT, the starting line up and formation were bizare in the extreme, and it was clear from the majority of our players that they were not sure where they were playing or how they were supposed to play. They looked lost and confused to a man. SB has to shoulder the brunt for me. It almost seems like he plucked names out of a hat and just scattered them across the pitch. Its also clear that he and his coaching staff are not doing enough off the pitch to prepare, what are almost entirely his playes at this stage, for matches. For me, SB should have been sacled a year ago, and a manager brought in who knows how to create a footballing identity and can actually coach, rather than manage, a team. I said it before: while SB is in charge, i will have nothing to do with the club. He is clearly incompetent and i am sick and tired of owner after owner wasting their time on poor appointments. We continue to make the same mistakes at every level regardless of who is in charge, and i am done.
  4. Yes, he missed the penalty, BUT he is clearly in poor form and devoid of confidence. Giving him the responsibility of taking a penalty was aTERRIBLE decision, and one a expect fewfans would have made. SB should not have selected himas penalty taker.
  5. Tonight really highlights the ineptitude of the current coaching staff. Clearly players were sent out without a plan, withoutbeing coached and without any confidence. I will have nothing more to do with club until this absolute muppet is removed. Incompetence of the highest order.
  6. "Sacked in the morning, you'regetting sacked in the morning, sacked in the mooooorning, you're getting sacked in the moooorning!" I am still hoping it catches on

  10. Thats just the most bizare team selection. If we are out of the cupbecause of it i will be ripping
  11. 4th option: we could sign one or more of the perfectly reasonable cbs currently available on a free and still use loans for other positions.
  12. Poor subs from Bruce for me. Yet again out thought by the oposition manager. Clueless and inept. Its going to be a long dull season!
  13. when johnstone arrived he was very shaky, soi would not be passing judgement on any keeper until at least 20 games in. there is a lot of settling to do coming in from a foreign league. Even De Gea was poor for united when he first arrived and he is a far better keeper and got far more protection than anyone is getting at the moment in the villa goal. Moreira in particular i expect to be a quality keeper in time.
  14. i really couldnt care less what level we play at as long as we play good football. 2 years into his tenure and nothing has changed. its clear the players have no clue what they should be doing and are not being properly coached. i doubt anyone would argue that this villa team is far better than the ipswich team we faced today. but for some reason, their players had composure, decent first touch and were organised. Villa on the other hand looked lost, had poor c9ntrol and could barely string 2 passes together. the difference? The villa manager does have a plan to impose a style of football and the ipswich manager does. COACHING is all this team needs, and Bruce is NOT a coach, he is a man manager. fair play to him, he sorted the bad atmosphere, and i thank him for that- but its time to push on and start creating a footballing identity at the club and Bruce is clearly incapable of this, so needs to go.
  15. I want Bruce out of my club. If the new owners cant see we are going nowhere with him in charge then they can f**k off too. We dont need their money. Give me a manager with a brain and a group of average players with heart, even if it mean relegation, so long as we weretrying yo play decent football, it wpuld be better than this.
  16. id imagine the vast majority of the opposition the u23 team face would comfortably compete and beat yeovil tbh. quality of opposition aside, the u23 play a different formation, play a shorter less direct passing game and tend to focus and getting the ball in to feet or getting to the byline. they in no way play the kind of football we see from the first team week in week out. part of the first tean rhm and green may be, but unsuitable for the way the first team plays they still are, and without a change of tactics, our youth are wasted in the first team.
  17. RHM, Doyle-hayes and Green all played for the u23s last season and played in a much more positive manner than today. havent seen any u23 games this season so cant comment. but they are creative and attacking players when played in a system that gives them the freedom to do so. the first team doesnt use such a system
  18. Nothing 'wrong' with the starting line up persee, but the tactics were shocking! Lump the ball 50-60 yards to the smallest man on the pitch against 2 cbs who were literally a foot taller than him is joke worthy. And on the odd occasion he does win it theres no villa player within 20-30yards of him. Lunacy. Any coach worth his salt could have imposed a style of play on a squad by now, but we are still clearly struggling. Bruce brought a mental strength and togetherneds which is great but he needs to bad this up with some actual coaching as opposed to man management. I would love to see the attacking intent we saw under RDM coupled with the togetherness and strenth SB has brought, but i do not see that ever happening without a complete change in the coaching staff.
  19. It would be limited by the 25 man sqiad rule. I havent looked but i think there are some u21s in our 21 man squad already?
  20. The club is allowed 8 loan players with a maxmum of 5 in the match day squad. So we could still bring in players fpr all our empty slots.
  21. Overall i think we were average to poor against a very poor hull side. A couple of moments of brilliamce from us got us goals, and a few good saves and some poor finishing at the otjer end kept us on top. Could so easily have gone the other way. We are going to need to be a lot better than we were tonight if we have aspirations of promotion. Fingers crossed for some quality transfers (in and out) before the window closes as i fear we will need a lot more quality to push on.
  22. Very disappointed in our transfer movements thus far. so much crap needs moving on and massive holes in the squad that need filling. going into the 1st game of the season with only 2 recognised cbs is a travesty - especially as one of them has hardly played over the last 2 years. i fear we will struggle against Hull up front too with only 1 fit striker in Kodjia - who is far from the player he was when he arrived here. Yes we can bring in loans until the end of August, but that means the players coming in wont have time to settle/acclimatise to the squad and system and in all likelyhood the team wont be right for a few months as a result. Looks like we will have a slow start to the season again. A few poor results and the crowd will turn. I have a bad feeling about this season...
  23. If we buy then after the loan then they are our own youth ?
  24. I know under MON he himself negotiated player wages. Not sure if the same is true of Bruce/RDM/etc. If it is then i'd say that's grounds for sacking for gross misconduct, if not then whoever did should be sacked for it - diabolical!
  25. unfortunately Tro, poor form didnt cost us anywhere near as many points as fatigue. On more than a few occassions Bruce fielded a nearly unchanged side where we played 3 games in 7 days when he could clearly see (and later openly admitted) the players needed to be rotated. Had he done this only 2 or 3 times i could accept it, but he kept making the same mistakes, repeating the same poor decisions (like throwing 4 strikers onto the pitch at the expense of the midfield - strikers wont score if there is noone on the pitch winnig the ball or creating chances for them). Silly decisions a man of his experience shouldnt be making and certainly shouldnt have been making as often as he did, particularly when he kept admitting he made a mistake. o say 'oh i got that wrong' then to do the same thing over and over again is the reason i want him gone. I dont think he is up to it anymore.
