  1. Lots of training work to do, Lambert needs to earn his cash these coming weeks as the players clearly don't know what they're supposed to be doing. They're not good players, a lot of them, but simple things like not closing down in midfield have to be ironed out.
  2. Clark not getting any better. For a tall lad it's amazing how many headers he doesn't win, also positionally poor. Baker looks a better CB. Vlaar looked ok today. We need Dunne in there, never rated Dunne as a good premiership defender, but he is premiership quality at least.
  3. Everton are a well drilled machine, every man knows his role, they close down quickly and are effective in attack. We've got a new manager trying, our players are still unsure of their role. That was the main difference. Clark is a liability. Baker looks a better bet for CB but we need Dunne back to steady things. Gabby coming back will help too. But we need to buy a quality LB and CM'er.
  4. Clark is a liability, he always has been a liability and he's not getting any better with experience.
  5. ................Given......... Lowton...Clark...Vlaar...Baker .................Herd.................. ............KEA....Bannan......... .......Fonz.............N'zogbia.... .................Bent....................
  6. Poor player, terrible attitude. Strolled around the pitch a few times and got voted MOTM on here, it's a crazy world.
  7. My team. .......................Given....................... Hutton.......Vlaar.......Baker.......Warnock ........................Clark.......................... Holman.......KEA.......Ireland.......N'Zogbia ........................Bent............................ I know Hutton and Warnock have no chance of starting. Seems crazy to me though.
  8. He'll come back, he'll be ok. Knee injuries aren't the end any more like they used to be 15-20 years ago. Just halts his development a bit more. If he's quality he will make it. On the bright side Daniel Johnson moves up in the pecking order, as I think he should have anyway on Gardners poor showings.
  9. Not a great loss for us this season, but a great shame for him. Longer term it puts his development back again. From what I've seen I'm not particularly gutted - is that bad of me? Daniel Johnson is the better player IMO, and he rightly goes up the pecking order now.
  10. Not for a couple of hundred years anyway, when we'll pick it up and put it in a museum.
  11. I don't really rate Dunne, but I'm sorry to say rate Clark even lower, I think he's shit and let's not even go there with Baker or Herd. We still need to buy AT LEAST 2 quality defenders and I certainly wouldn't let Dunne go without replacing him with one.
  12. UK public borrowing more than expected in July. BBC Edit - Peterms just pipped me at the post. ^
  13. He's got great technique, he wasn't the worst player last season so I wouldn't put him on the reject pile after one game this season.
  14. Nothing to be scared of, nothing to fight wars over, their revolution will come from within. Most people are good and want to live peaceful happy lives.
  15. 4-3-3 was dead once, until somebody tried it and got it to work well again. Formations come and go.
  16. Sounds like a lead in to a daily mail article.
  17. Your original statements were so vague I'd have to guess what you meant to give a more qualified reply. I don't think you understand the word prejudice and I'm reluctant to get into a nit picking argument over it's definition.
  18. No Nonsense. If you prefer delivery over content go for the cartoon character. Hitchens lost all sight of reason. The war he championed soon became (predictably to those of us who aren't blindly obsessed with defying religion) disastrous.
  19. Well a huge amount of his time was spent debating the war on grounds of religion. Although polar opposite in their views he was just like his brother, full of hate and prejudice. He was a fearless iconoclast and got a lot of attention for it, but an intellectual he was not, not for me (I regard Noam Chomsky as much more enlightening figure in America, personally).
  20. Did Hitchens think Islam was 'generally a bad thing' or had he lost all sense of reason? Did he fear it and want to spread that fear? Anybody who thinks going to war against two countries is a reasonable action against Islam is an idiot. We have people on here, on Youtube, on atheist blogs calling Hitchens a legend. Really?
  21. Yes I think Islam is in general quite a bad thing, most if not all religions are, but I also think prejudice is quite a bad thing.
  22. He opposed zealotry? He was a zealot. If his views on Palestine seem fit to relieve him of the title Islamophobe in peoples opinions fair enough, but I cannot accept it relieves him of the title 'idiot'. I think Mark Steel sums it up quite well. Mark Steel
  23. Anybody ever declared an engine change to the dvla? Do you just fill in section 7 'changes to current vehicle', or is there more to it?
  24. He was an enthusiastic supporter of a war he saw as being against the madness of Islam. He supported that was because he hated Islam, that's was a specific irrational position he took.
