I read somewhere Gabby had 7 assists and 5 goals, 12 points combined. Bent 9 goals 1 assist, 10 points combined. Putting gabby top. I (very roughly) worked out the ratios for a few in the squad calculating their combined points per game. I had Bent top, Gabby second.

I think he created and scored more than anybody else though, didn't he?

Gabby is not in Yorke's class, but he was our most potent attacking threat last season.

Bit of a weird one the whole Makoun saga from start to finish. He was lacklustre on the pitch, if he was the same in training and attitude no wonder he was sent to Greece.

I think his (Berbatov) next contact will be considerably smaller, he'll want to stay in Europe. He may find a German or French club more attractive than us, but I don't think we'd be totally out of the picture if we showed interest.

He might get CL but I don't think his stock is particularly high enough to be making demands like that at the moment.

I think he'd do well here, but I don't think we'd be getting a bargain, we'd have to pay top dollar for him and his wages. We need to spend more prudently. A far more progressive signing, in footballing terms would be Berbatov and we'd have money left over for other areas in much need of attention.

I wouldn't spend any money on a striker, I'd focus on the defence. Caroll is a £15M player who I wouldn't spend more than £11M on, I think Liverpool will want more around £15-20M. I think his wage demands will be high. Berbatov would be much cheaper and a better player.

I think he's an exciting prospect. I'm looking forward to seeing his return to form.

I'll probably watch a footie game or two if it's on the box and I have nothing better to do. Nice to see some potential future stars. After that I'll only be interested in the finals of the track events, and then only if it involves a British runner.

Berbatov needs a new club and could be cheap.

Walker didn't pull up trees, some of his defending was Hutton like.

Never rated him as a particularly good prospect, but fair is fair, he did well when he came in. Keep him, he's a versatile squad player.
