  1. Thanks to music I have spent a lifetime besieged by questions I will never have answers to: Who's the true father of Billy jean's son? How deep is your love? Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? Who? Do you really want to hurt me? Why do fools fall in love? Should I stay? Or should I go now? Do you believe in magic? Who's that girl running around with you? Do ya think I'm sexy? What’s love got to do? Got to do with it? And about a million more of the bastards!
  2. I wonder... Me with a Hurley Stick: VS Me with a Baseball Bat: In a fight to the death. Who would win.
  3. Ridley Scott flicks. Love: Alien, Blade Runner, White Squall, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster. Like: 1492, Matchstick Men. Indifferent: Legend , Thelma & Louise, G.I. Jane . Disappointed: Kingdom of Heaven. WTF are you at you silly clearing in the woods!: Robin Hood. The man owes his fans after that last steaming chunk of gelatinous bile.
  4. Somebody on here has had a hatred hard on for Petrov from day one and the amusing part is the fact that the hater vanished into silence the season when Petrov was player of the year only to return with the same vitriol the next time he had a bad game. This shit has been going on for years and gets rather boring. You don't like him, we get that.
  5. Who would the players choose? Who do they look up to and respect? Who has bags of experience? Who looks out for the young players? Who fires them up in the dressing room and is relentless in his communication on the pitch? Who handles the media well and never has a negative word to say? He may be losing his engine but Petrov is still the best man for the club captaincy, the players know it.
  6. Hasn't done anything to meet with my disapproval. Two very good signings, has managed to bring outcasts back into the fold in Ireland and Warnock. Defence no longer looks clueless defending set pieces.
  7. Forget the midfield we'd have to completely rebuild Bodymoor Heath:
  8. I was impressed by his physique(not in a gay way) for a 19 year old he built like a 25 year old, tall and strong ideal for the center of the midfield. Look forward to seeing more of him in the coming season.
  9. I laughed out loud, I feel terrible for doing so but I did.
  10. Love how they recorded a bunch of Indian street peasants to do the chanting: clap, clap, clap, clap "LOOVERS"
  11. Ji_Sung Park Man Utd vs MLS "All-Stars" 27th July 2011 The MLS team was utterly shit, still, I never thought Park had the audacity to do something like this considering his mother still cuts his hair.
  12. Best rear ended thread since the "How do you wipe yer arse debate". Only one thing is missing, wrong 'un Yoda!!
  13. One thing struck me in today's game, at one point Given was forced to parry a shot and he parried it about 40 yeards away from the goal. Friedel, great keeper that he was had a brutal habit of parrying the ball straight into the path of an on rushing attacker. It used to drive me nuts.
  14. Moderately impressed, the conditions were very punishing so neither team was able to play to their full capacity. Still I liked how seriously both sides took it with some feisty tackles flying in. Gabby worked his arse off and appeared very much to be in a free role popping up all over the place, it looks like he's very hungry to put a disappointing last season behind him. Heskey didn't do badly as others have suggested, he held up possession well, Warnock was a revelation excellent performance from him. Dunne and Collins looked a lot more solid and as a whole our defence was better prepared to deal with Blackburn's nasty corner kick tactics than I've seen them.
  15. Couple of flicks I watched over the weekend: Nighthawks with Stallone, Rutger Hauer and Lando Calrissian - Surprisingly good, bit of a Die Hard element to it international terrorist being chased by wise cracking hardened city cops. A Perfect Getaway with Timothy Olyphant and Milla Jovovich, alright thriller surpassed the low expectations I had for it. Olyphant was superb. Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos with everyone but cash hungry prick Pele. Charts the rise and fall of the original North American Soccer League, the players, the business, the shenanigans and Giorgio Chinaglia as himself, the sleaziest footballer ever.
  16. Not sure about Faulkners ability to be the Chief Executive, but I approve of Randy ownership simply cause it's not like there's many alternatives. Newcastle another Premiership club but one with a larger fanbase and a resulting higher revenue than Villa has been on and off the market for 3 years without the sniff of a buyer. I would prefer Randy to the Carsen Yeung's, Al-Fayed's, Dave Whelan's, Gold/Sullivan's and Indian Chicken Merchants of the current day. There are no more Sheikhs knocking around looking for a play thing and even if we were on the market at the same time as Man City were they were a more attractive prospect due to the new stadium and surrounding development opportunities. The same could be said for Liverpool except instead of a stadium they are one of the most recognizable and well supported teams in football. Unlike Villa who get confused for West Ham by pesky foreigners.
  17. How it could have gone: Faulkner: "Shay what do you want?" Given: "3 year deal at 50k per year" Faulkner: "How about 5 years at 35k per year?" Given: "Done!" How it probably went: Faulkner: "Shay what do you want?" Given: "3 year deal at 35k per year" Faulkner: "How about 5 years at 50k per year? and if we sell you I'll be sure to do it before bringing in a replacement so that all the selling clubs will know we are desperate and will hold us to ransom" Given: "Done! but wow mate, you really are shit at this football business thing." Faulkner: "I know but I was a damn fine Intern at MBNA my coffee making and photocopying skills are second to none!"
  18. If I was Randy the fun I could have messing with supporters just to see their outrageous reactions on message boards would exceed the pleasure of owning the team.
  19. Don't buy anything until the US raises it's debt ceiling. The deadline is August 2nd and it's dragging on, the closer we get to that deadline the more jittery the market will get and the higher the odds that prices will plummet.
  20. We need a "baps allowed" lovely ladies thread to lighten the mood.
  21. Player wanted to leave. By coming out and publicly stating Downing was not for sale we forced him into placing a transfer request thereby avoiding having to pay the word removed a million pound loyalty bonus. Job well done.
  22. The vast majority of the posters who just post to VT and never venture into OT or other forums on the site are windup merchants.
